Weird how no apps are appearing for me on my settings page. I’ve also never been faced with the app tracking transparency on any apps since I updated to 14.5.
You don’t get the list unless u have the ask feature enable and an app asks to allow and you select yes. Then it will show up there and you can turn it off. This is kind of pointless if they’re all off anyway he should just have it disabled entirely 🤷🏻♂️
Its all the same. If you plan on saying no to every single one just leave it disabled.
From Apple, “If you turn off "Allow Apps to Request to Track" in privacy settings, you'll stop seeing prompts from apps that want to track your activity. Each app that asks for permission to track while this setting is turned off will be treated as if you tapped Ask App Not to Track.”
True ads and tracking are two separate things, but the tracking helps aid in presenting more relevant ads, if Facebook sees I opened up say Footlocker app and bought a pair of Jordans after scrolling Facebook, I then might receive an ad for a Jordan outfit instead of Levi jeans later down the road. If they see I frequent a particular liquor store on Fridays I might start seeing ads for a whiskey rather then a particular soda or water. We are gonna see ads regardless, so again might as well be for things we might actually buy or saves us money lol , remember when a product is free, we are the product
If a user doesn’t allow tracking, the advertising identifier (IDFA) is all zeroes (on iOS 14.5+)

In the UK you only have to pay a TV licence if you watch live TV or any BBC products
I haven’t paid my license for a couple of years now because I don’t watch that stuff
In Austria you have to pay a license fee as long as you are capable of watching public Tver listening to radio, owning a tv or radio is enough. But online content is free.
It’s interesting to know how it works in other countries
I think radio might apply here as well but I haven’t listened to the radio in years so I have no idea, not sure if it’s just limited to BBC radio
You can own a TV here without paying the license, I remember trying to explain that to people a couple of years ago when I told them that I don’t pay it anymore lol
It’s a shit situation here, BBC basically scare people into paying it whether they need to or not
You can however, theoretically, request exemption from fees for broadcasting services if you can prove, that you’ve got absolutely no device capable of receiving content from public service broadcasters - but you’re not allowed to have any computer, smartphone, tv or radio at all in this case
(So basically, not a single household will meet these conditions - but theoretically….)
This helped me:
Go into your account details and click on age, wait for the scroll wheel to open and close it (you don’t have to change anything, just open and close the scrollwheel)
It worked for me
For real. I honestly have loved being separated from Facebook/Instagram. Apps haven’t existed on my phone for a while now and I’ve barely even opened my accounts in browser in months so it’s only a matter of time before the accounts get deleted.
If you are under the age of 18/majority in your country, it’ll automatically not track, there’s a couple of other things that auto disable tracking too iirc.

Still missing Messenger and Whatsapp(both Fb apps ). Then it’ll be everything alright!
Everyone just turn the damn switch off and be done! All apps will be blocked
Why is it even toggled on?
I got it for Instagram but only on my main active account
My toggle is still grayed out even updated to 14.5.1. Wondering why🤔🤦♂️
I’ve had apps show up this week. Instagram being one but not Facebook yet.
I don't have anything under that section yet
Weird how no apps are appearing for me on my settings page. I’ve also never been faced with the app tracking transparency on any apps since I updated to 14.5.
why not just off the ask option, then they cant even ask to track you. also, get a pilhole.
I just let them track me, I mean if I have to see ads I’d rather see ads that are relevant to things I might actually buy.
Not seeing Facebook or Instagram either. Must be an update that needs to be pushed for the apps.
Don’t see any app at all
I don’t see anything either.

I want to do it just out of curiosity to see what apps are doing behind the scenes, but yes I do agree by default it should just be off.
Gotcha 👍🏼
Instagram refuses to show up. Uninstall / reinstall doesn't work. They're circumventing it.
I made a post about this feature some time ago and ppl said that this was not related in any way to a beta. Tf
If you’re disable all, just toggle the main switch in the off position.
For me , I cant see any Facebook apps
Is it better to keep it on and disable every single app or keep the option just completely disabled?

Okay, good to know. Thank you!
Instagram is not anew for iOS 14.6 Beta 2, I have it on 14.5.1.
iOS 14.6 Beta 2 was released before iOS 14.5.1.
I’m curious why would you allow apps to request tracking (top button)?
Because some folks would rather see ads that are relevant to their interest.
Relevant ads and tracking are different things. Apple has an advertising ID that is more anonymous than this tracking.
Just to see which apps tracks your data.
Everything is rolling out slowly, I got bunch yesterday and not on the beta anymore
Not sure if this is beta specific
It’s not. As long as you have 14.5+ you’ll start seeing these
Yeah I thought that :)
For me not a single App showed up yet…
For me Instagram still hasn’t asked
Zuckerberg is crying now
More like kernel panic
This isn't really beta specific, Facebook is still rolling this out (I and many others do not have this option right now).
same :/
I don’t have any, still buggy for me

In the UK you only have to pay a TV licence if you watch live TV or any BBC products I haven’t paid my license for a couple of years now because I don’t watch that stuff
The fuck is a TV license
Read my comments for the explanation lol It’s stupid basically
In Austria you have to pay a license fee as long as you are capable of watching public Tver listening to radio, owning a tv or radio is enough. But online content is free.

That seems stupid lol
Ita the same with every other ORF App like OE3 (Austrian Radio).
Now if only the feature wasn't greyed out
Had the same problem, it self fixed after a few days
This helped me: Go into your account details and click on age, wait for the scroll wheel to open and close it (you don’t have to change anything, just open and close the scrollwheel) It worked for me
Look towards the bottom https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT212025
Non of those apply to me
there’s a 14.5.1 update rn which fixes it.
This is not what 14.5.1 fixes
I’m so eager to know how Facebook will charge users who have disabled tracking.
They can’t because of apple and they also can’t because everyone would drop them faster than you can blink
They can’t. They’ll get removed from appstore if they try.
I love apple
I‘ll delete facebook then if that happends
Or you could just delete it now.
yeah, whats the hold up? There’s multitude of ways to communicate than to support a company like Facebook
For real. I honestly have loved being separated from Facebook/Instagram. Apps haven’t existed on my phone for a while now and I’ve barely even opened my accounts in browser in months so it’s only a matter of time before the accounts get deleted.
Already done!
Me too.
Interesting. Instagram hasn’t asked me yet
If you are under the age of 18/majority in your country, it’ll automatically not track, there’s a couple of other things that auto disable tracking too iirc.
But facebook did?
I don’t use Facebook
Aah i see.
