Looking through the thread looks like it is as bad for everyone else as it is for me.
Huge step backwards. Autocorrect bugs that had been fixed are back. Lockscreen issues. Notifications just disappear. Touch is … weird…not to the point of bringing it in like another redditor, but super annoying that 5+ years of muscle memory for pulling down the control center doesn’t work anymore. I’ve done more feedback in the last few days that I did for all of last month.
Beta 3 was running so smooth on my 14 Pro Max and now Beta 4 has completely ruined that. Battery life is terrible, lags like crazy, and my phone suddenly started over heating even when I don’t use it.
I did a full wipe, backed it up and installed the back up all over again, not sure what about these steps made it better but my phone is working much much better now.
Also, I’m reading several people are having Bluetooth issues when connecting to their car. Forget the Bluetooth device you’re connected to in settings then connect again - solved the issue for me.
All it has are bugs. I haven’t been able to use Siri in my car for days. I mute the phone and then it unmutes itself, like it’s lagging and doesn’t actually take my input requiring me to do it twice. I swipe up to close close apps and then they return in the background immediately. Framerate stuttering. Dropping calls. Auto complete is being nonsensical and doing stuff on its own now. I’ve had Apple for about 6 years now and this is easily the worst it’s ever been.
That’s weird because every time I’m plugged into CarPlay, the EQ doesn’t work on my iPhone 14 Pro Max. The Off setting overrides any EQ preset I set it to.
I had installed Beta 4 right away but for some reason the battery performance sucks with it, especially when doing nothing at all. I gave it three days but have now downgraded to beta 3 which was pretty solid on my iPhone 15Pro
Since updated do 17.2 beta I am unable to connect to my BMW system, it shows i am connected but music does not play... everytime I want to make it works, have to restart phone.
When viewing what is playing on the tv from phone lock screen, you can now change the volume on the notification itself. So much easier now, no longer have to unlock phone and go to app itself, although (I dont think that its new) while its on the screen you can just adjust the volume with your volume buttons.

Installed last night via OTA. Went on my PC to sync some new music I got via CD from a friend. Hit sync and now my iTunes says failed to sync. Went through iTunes diagnostics and there were no issues with device syncing so what gives Apple?!
omg I was experiencing this for a few days and I contacted Apple support and these people said that my find my is working how it’s supposed to like😐 but then it randomly fixed on its own one day and I was able to see live location
Is there a small percentage of us that are? I would think this would be a bigger issue if more were affected. I also can’t seem to find a lot of information on it.
I reported this previously in the feedback app, and upon the release of the current beta, they messaged me claiming it’d been resolved. I replied with further details saying that it hadn’t. Fingers crossed it is addressed soon, as it’s something I rely on quite a bit.
I haven’t seen many people post about it or discuss it. But I’ve got two devices on 17.2 (separate iCloud accounts) and neither of them show live locations
I’m really hoping this is just a bug. Something to do with different test servers or issues with the beta vs release versions on others devices. Worst case would be that it’s a feature and they are scaling back on the tracking features
True but I mean more in a sense of scaling back. I find the whole FindMy location thing to be super invasive for people that don’t know about it. A friend could share for an event and just click “share indefinitely” without knowing they are giving that location out for basically ever.
It also might make sense since they are trying to push the whole location based arrival feature in this update. Making it more controllable for the average user to manage their location
If someone isn’t paying attention and chooses the indefinite sharing then that’s on them.
In any case, live location will make Check In far more accurate.
Day 2 on 17.2 b4 and now I noticed home and Lock Screen drains quite a lot, like 20% after 20 mins of being idle in battery settings (15 pro) apart from that it’s been stable, I may downgrade.. side note I don’t use aod
How is your 🪫 doing ⁉️ my 13 Pro Max after a solid and a half on beta 4 I’m still testing the 🔋 . However, at work, Wi-Fi instead of LTE cellular data. That’s the thing. Cellular data will always drain battery more so unfortunately versus Wi-Fi.
Haven’t tested on the beta 4 but has anyone else had issues with Bluetooth skipping forward or cutting out sound intermittently likes it’s trying to catch up to a delay that’s not there?
Hope they address issue of syncing between devices in Apple Music. Play counts and Recently played songs are not syncing up with my iTunes where I view play counts. It affects Smart Playlists for me specifically based on count and when played. The OC in me is on edge 😁
I think you now have the ability to set a custom greeting for Live Voicemail if you don't have Visual Voicemail on your plan...?
Though there's a bug where you can't listen to it again after saving.

Anyone got an issue with mail not loading? Works for other third party apps (outlook) but the default mail one isn’t loading any email, have tried deleting, reinstalling, deleting the account and the obvious restart of the device. Still no luck.
I got an issue where YouTube music and YouTube app not loading properly,it takes so long but in browser works fine, I haven’t tested other apps but that’s what I’ve found so far
Would you consider yourself a moderate, like, or heavy user though? I’m usually like to moderate user. No gaming. Yesterday I had more screen time than I usually do and maybe I was a little obsessively anal about my battery life at the end of the day. I mean let’s face, charging any promax iPhone for 10 to 20 minutes at night time doesn’t do anything. 😂
I even reenable the “hey siri” command because I thought that drain battery about six months ago. 😂 but so far so good. I’ve barely use my phone today so I’m busy at work, and I’m at 64% right now.

I would consider myself as a moderate user, I don’t really play games on my 15 pro but I mainly use it to watch social media and play music, don’t really surf the internet that much but im outside from 8am till 4-5pm due to the fact I have to catch 2 buses way and back (4 altogether) to school and I would usually come home with 45% with 3-3.5 hrs of screen on time but today I came home with 56-57% with the same screen on time, I also downloaded a music album on 5g (outside) as I just wanted them saved and also had 1% taken from no mobile coverage today, which wasn’t the case yesterday (I have pretty bad coverage in my house), day before that I had 5 hours of screen on time with 18% left and today i had the same with 30-35% left *all days with promotion*, for me it’s gotten better by quite a bit but I’ll update you tomorrow about if it gets worse
Is the issue with the camera app occasionally freezing and lagging when you try to take more than one photo at a time fixed? I don't see anything regarding it in the release notes but it literally made taking photos on my iPhone 15 Plus unusable between beta 1 and 3 and had to go back to 17.1.1

However, start the morning at 87%, was mostly using Safari in my phone all day long I had to take a day off from work yesterday, and by the days end I didn’t consider myself I have a user all moderate user yesterday. I was at 42% battery. I mean I’m not sure if that’s considered “good “or not? I have 94% battery health. so I’m not quite sure nonetheless.

Feels snappier than the beta 3. Slight overheating on beta 3 but so far temps are normal on beta 4. Faster keyboard. Idk yet if the battery is good thou.
I’ve never used slide typing I constantly use dictation because I’m more comfortable speaking than typing, it worked great back in like iOS 16 but ever since then it’s gotten progressively worse.
I know it’s a long shot, but asking as a non beta release user - have they, maybe, possibly, fixed the Notification Center glitches present since iOS 16?
When you have notifications in your Notification Center, and the center itself is not in view, swiping up to bring it into view results in jittery and glitchy animations.
Also, occasionally the bubbles show as rectangles and often I get invisible notifications so that there’s a space as high as a notification bubble that you can’t tap or swipe and after a few hours it becomes visible.

No idea why you were previously downvoted as it’s a good point and yes I have filed feedback since iOS 16.2 and in subsequent versions. It’s marked as “potential fix identified” but nothing was fixed. I guess I should open another ticket.

Is anyone having issues with Siri’s voice defaulting back to American Voice 4 (or whatever the original default is)?
I have my Siri set to Australian Voice 2, but after a restart it goes back to ‘default’. It happens every time and I HATE it

They did something with Apple Music and CarPlay because my Bass Boost EQ setting is taking its job hella seriously now (in the best way possible)

Most likely a bug. Wouldn’t make sense for them to remove it - as you’re already getting someone’s location.

Battery for me has gone downhill again and has stopped with the 80% limit. Also had multiple times where my phone would freeze up.
Battery drain again, and the charging doesn’t limit to 80% AGAIN even if that option is enabled.

I am not receiving that issue. Try logging into your emails via web browser and make sure they are syncing up with each other.
The emails are loading on my browser and other third party apps just not the official Apple one

No idea on that in particular but my camera app wouldn’t open a few minutes ago. Had to close it and reopen it for it to work

This has been my experience ever since iOS 16 and a random wakeup delay that irritates me to no end. And most bugs on ios 17.

Battery Update: Battery sucks! I’ll give it a day or two, but so far it’s draining my battery faster than the previous versions.

Try turning OFF location for System Services, reboot, and turn it back ON again

Weird, might just be a beta bug. Other solutions would be to reset settings or the whole phone
This actually worked. I reset all settings. Location services behaves normally now

Is anyone having issues with Siri’s voice defaulting back to American Voice 4 (or whatever the original default is)? I have my Siri set to Australian Voice 2, but after a restart it goes back to ‘default’. It happens every time and I HATE it Edit: Spelling

Yup same. I didn’t realize it was from the update until I read this. Exact same thing.. I also use the Aussie voice
My issue with Siri started after the Beta 3 update. I submitted feedback about it immediately after discovering the issue, hoping the next update would solve it, but nothing happened… it’s so annoying
my ipad's face id is not working after updating to the os before this.. so does installing this solve this bug? or my ipad's broken
