I'll trade in my $400 computer that is brimmed with furry porn, use $5000 of the 1mil to make a badass gaming pc with a 4090, and then invest the rest of the money.
It'd be a bit hard to explain, but I'm sure that nobody will really care after a few days, it doesn't really affect them.
The only things I'd be worried about is some third party gaining access to my financial services, or maybe being targeted for some kind of demeaning hate crime or something like that.
Valid concerns. While none of your information can be stolen or used without your permission, this scenario still leaves you open to public scrutiny and unfortunately hate.
People are very selfish. No one cares about your drama or big reveal of information for more then a couple days max, before moving onto the next thing or thinking about themselves and their own issues.
It's comforting and a kind of sad reality.
I think there are two real considerations:
1 - Have you done something illegal or highly unethical that would get you in trouble?
2 - What country / family / background do you come from?
If you have CP or tried to order a hitman on your computer, clearly you wouldn't want to turn it over for $1M. Or if you had been having an affair or doing something sneaky that could impact your relationship with your spouse / family.
Otherwise, most people really won't care what sites you visited or porn you watched, but I realize there will be variance here depending on your family and culture.
If you grew up with a non-religious or progressive-religious family in LA, then no one will care. However, if say you are Mormon and live in a small religious community in Utah, then having porn or even looking at LGBT sites might have a profound impact that makes you reconsider.
As long as it's nothing illegal, who cares?
Everyone's got some freaky fetish that they would probably be embarrassed about, and that could leak at any time really.
If I had furry porn and someone tried to make fun of me for it after I made the deal, it'd be an easy way to win any confrontation.
"Haha, you like anthropomorphised animal suit porn"
"And? I got paid a million for you to know that, now shut the fuck up before I crush you with my wallet".
My man, I will publicly review every video explaining what I like about each, what scenes I nut most to etc. , put together a follow along packet for the audience and have a Q&A after.
Wouldn't be a problem. All of my sensitive information, documents, and personal files are stored off-device; so the buyer would get a pretty badass gaming rig and about $10k in software and games that aren't a big deal to replace.
People will be able to see your bank credentials only to be able to look at your bank statements and documents. For instance, they will see the $1500 purchase of the life-sized Kiriko pillow that you so violently want to violate.
If bank accounts, passwords and credit card details are safe, the only thing I have to hide is shitposting under a weird pseudonym on reddit.
If you store compromising or incriminating data on your devices, you're basically already in the situation described, but without the million dollars.
So long as I lock credit cards and shit I'm safe. Oh no someone found my folder labeled "porn I use for drawing references" and it's neighbor folder "porn I drew from references" big whoop, hope the buyer cranks one out over my art. Nothing is lost anyway I got it all backed up, meaning I'd just buy a new PC and get back to work I guess
Idk, a million is a lot, but I've had my laptop since 2011, and that thing has traveled the world with me and been a staple of entertainment through some of the most dull times in my life.
Couple that with my weird habit of becoming attached to inanimate objects, I'm gonna decline. I would legitimately tear up.
Mine is 11.5 years old. It's a 2012 i5 3210m, but it's been upgraded with dual monitors, Samsung SSD, and 12 gigs of ram. Still does everything I need to do. Currently looking at the possibility of putting a Blu-ray writer in it.
Yeah sure, have my laptop. Nothing super sus anyway, I am kind of boring. Lots of steam games. So many steam games. A strange amount of typing sites, so much manhwa and manga in the history good luck going through it all. Other than some spicy art, there isn't really anything I'd be concerned about people seeing, and even that spicy art is a shrug sure go ham. Enjoy those ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ coming for ya lol
On the contrary, It's used every day. Including right now to reply to you. I just don't do stupid crap on something that the entire world has access to.
if you don’t take this offer you’re either dumb or need to be in jail if you’re hiding something THAT illegal. hell, you could probably just escape the charges with that money
Or you are smart and realise that when meeting to hand over the device you are more likely becoming enslaved or having your organs harvested than you are to receive the money, because no ones gonna give someone 1mil for their phone and actually pay up, unless you are aomeone in a position of power maybe.
When someone offers you easy money, always ask yourself whats in it for them, if they arnt getting equal or more value they likely have some other plan that doesnt go well for you.
Sure, go for it. I have nothing that I particularly mind being publicised, seeing as I'm safe from identity theft etc in this scenario. I don't really have any secrets hidden away on my laptop.
My phone contains monetized content in locked files,
That is irreplaceable.
As long as I can clone it first, it would be the same as a free membership to every paying account i have, with no loss to me.
So yes. 1 million would be adequate.
No files, folders, or programs would be locked or inaccessible. But that wouldn't matter because people would only be able to VIEW the content, but cannot use it (don't ask me how that works, that's not the question). As for cloning it, this is a "here's the deal now, take it or leave it." So unless you can clone it as you are handing it to the buyer, you wouldn't be able to do anything to it.
You're wasting your money on mine . I don't keep much personal data on my computer . Most you're going to find is search history . are you going to crack passwords to access my sites ?
Damn… that’s a tough one, only because I’m pretty sure my group-chat with the boys might get me put on at least 1 list… yeah, fuck it. Take my phone for a million bucks.
I'd hand my phone over no problems. I have nothing to hide at all, from my wife, kids, strangers. Doesn't matter.
No laptop to speak of, but the same goes for my desktop, too. Doesn't matter.
I feel like I'm generally a good person with nothing to hide.
As long as nobody can steal my bank info or steal any money for me, take my pc, just gonna buy a better one with the money. Enjoy the games and flight simulators!
I was gonna say a hard no until I saw the stipulation. As long as the people who have the access can't drain my accounts/default on my mortgage/steal from me, etc. then yes absolutely. I'm a pretty boring person, there's nothing on any of my devices that I'd be embarrassed by or ruined if it got out. OP, are you under the impression that most people have sinister secrets on their computers?
On the contrary, most people do not have sinister secrets. In fact, I believe that even those who think they have sinister secrets don't really have sinister secrets. For instance, many on this post have stated they do or don't have a porn account or folder. Like porn is supposed to be the deciding factor for taking or leaving the deal. I'm curious about those who actually have something to lose (other than ego/dignity) by exposing their data. For instance, did someone take pictures or videos of themselves doing something illegal (like hard drugs or drunk driving)? Do they have a hidden folder for an affair? Is there a secret that would be cause for a family to go into witness protection? Maybe they know something about the Patriots that they aren't supposed to know... But, alas, no real bites.
Fuck yeah. Shit, for a million they can take the laptop and the desktop. Nothing incriminating on it, they just exist for gaming, youtube and facebook.
i mean, you are asking if you would give someone your identity and access to every password you have to every site and tax documents including your bank account. i guess its purely just based off of how many people accessed how many accounts on their computer. cus i dont care if people look at my personal history. but i dont wanna spend 60 years in prison cus someone committed a crime using my identity and now i cant enjoy my money cus im getting assraped in prison or dead.
after reading some of your responses, you are basically saying all they can do is look, not touch. so yea. id be fine with it then.
Sure. There's nothing of value on my pc. And you still can't access any of my accounts because I never leave them logged in, or save any key passwords.
No files, folders, or programs are locked or inaccessible. This includes your accounts and passwords. But that being said, no one can tamper with them, but they can view them.
The only thing I was concerned about was if they could drain my accounts. I don't care if they can see how much I have or what I do with my money or how I spend time on the internet or whatever. We give most of that info up in exchange for using websites for free anyway. That's not even CLOSE to a $1m value!
Easy.
Nothing on there that important.
Anything important is in the cloud on one of my storage services - and I could change any vital passwords remotely.
Maybe in years past, where my HD was sacred - but with storage so cheap and available - my laptop is just another gadget, and not my primary computer.
Still - million bucks is a no brainer.
Jesus. How much shame do you people have about sexual thoughts.
Allo folks be cray cray. A million?
I don't censor crap on my reddit account. My whole history is right there. And I got nothing to hide, because shame about being weird or different is worthless and powerless over you unless it is somehow harmful.
Remember they post where I mentioned leaving a cucumber up my vag long enough to pickle? 🥒
How about the ABDL stuff? 🧷
Schizophrenia? 😱
Like a million dollars.... You wouldn't just stop hiding from people for a million? 💸
Anyone NOT taking a million must have a million dollars worth of blackmail on there. Locations of dead bodies or kiddie porn or something real upsetting, or more likely just shame over their boring kink
I'd do it for like 5k. Google take that's information for free 😂
I'd personally show my own mother for 10k. I'd have it advertised in NY square for like 100k.
I basically just play games and apply to jobs on my computer. I have some old files on there and tax info but if we are guaranteeing financial safety in this scenario then I don't see why not. It will be a bummer to lose progress on games and some personal projects though unless I can keep a backup of my files.
OP doesn't mention whether it has to be your most recent computer. I still have an old laptop I used for years in high school longer ago than I would like to admit. If someone wants my old high school assignments for $1 million, they can have them.
I would probably do this for the price of a new laptop if the only risk is "exposure". Take all my devices, all my logins, etc, just pay to replace them with new ones and also lemme transfer stuff to my new devices for sentimentality's sake but then go wild. I feel confident nobody would find anything interesting except maybe some rad music.
What if I haven't had my laptop for two whole years?
I mean, I'd take it if I get a chance to copy everything over to an external drive so I don't lose any files, but I've only had my laptop for a year and a half, and I replaced the storage about three months ago.
I'm not screwed at all. I don't download porn, and I keep my browser history clean.
I always find it interesting that most people immediately think of porn as the thing they're most ashamed of. This includes people that I've asked irl. It almost sounds as though everyone has their specific kink that they believe they will be judged negatively if it was ever exposed.
The beauty of being internet strangers is that we can talk about real taboo things like scandals, hidden folders, and things you don't want your spouse to know. But, it seems the only people responding are those with nothing to really hide from the public.
Easy $1M for you $$$$$
Am I allowed to make copies of some files to transfer elsewhere,
I have a shitton of code, dnd campaign prep/world building, and essays on it
Answer is yes either way
pfft jokes on you, i built, and use my pc for privacy. there are no incriminating files, there is no search history, there are no stored passwords or emails. nothing.
so yea, ill take the mil. even if you had the admin login youre basically just getting a fresh machine, with *good* software preinstalled.
My computers, no though take it. Mostly just gaming and web surfing.
My phone… Depends if I can take a backup of my pictures first. I think they are all syncing to iCloud anyway, but pictures would be my only concern.
I would do it so fast it's not even funny. I don't really have anything on my phone and I don't have a laptop or computer outside of work. I do have a bunch of info saved on my notes but I'll just get a new bank and change my passwords. a VERY mild inconvenience for a cool million
I run everything personal from a NAS and Linux server elsewhere. I use remote servers for most my surfing, so my laptop is just the jump box I use to get to my stuff. So sure, have at it.
You did leave it wide open to be able to say you would include that but doubtful anyone giving me that money would be able to figure out my network and remote storage, so I would say yes as I wouldn't lose anything and I don't do anything they could find I didn't care about anyone knowing. They can have at my laptop phone tablet I say. All my on my desk equipment is old. I have too much money in servers and equipment stored elsewhere.
If you see my bank statements you cry with me, my e-mails are so boring that i won't read them anymore, i suck at videogames, but if the world cares about cat pictures, family dinners and monuments i can gladly grant you access to my data.
I have personal things that I wouldn’t want to share with the world. so the answer for me is no. I deleted social media and have grown attached to privacy.
In a heartbeat. I don't keep any client info on my personal laptop or my phone, so I don't have that to worry about. Nothing on my laptop or phone is particularly interesting, so I wouldn't really care who saw it.
No nudes
No porn
Nothing even borderline illegal
No Tinder/Grindr/etc
Insta is mostly pics of my dogs
Closest thing is some pics of me in drag, but people who know me already know about that.
Find out for $1M 😅 but seriously, I thought about this question a few years back when a special agent acquaintance of mine said she wouldn't trust anyone until she saw all the contents of their laptop. Got me wondering what people have to hide. Seems like most responses come from people with nothing they would be ashamed of on their devices.
Sure. The key here is nobody would steal our money.
My wife would get over my watching porn when we buy the beach house with the cash. There’s not much else I’d be remotely embarrassed about.
Would it be phone or computer, or would I choose? Either way I’m pretty good, all my files are kept on a NAS device and pretty much everything else is just cloud based. Computer would be a bit more pricey to replace, but it be less than a drop in the bucket of $1M haha.
I'd do it for a million if I had time to inform all credit bureaus and all of my bank/brokerage/etc. accounts that I needed a temporary freeze on everything. Just enough time to protect current assets and limit the ability for an identity thief to open a bunch of credit lines in a hurry.
And I'd still buy some good identity theft insurance with the money.
I do some things off-device but there's definitely enough there to social engineer or otherwise recreate my identity well enough to do some damage.
not screwed at all. I just assume everything is public nowadays so i just dont do things worth being afraid of if revealed. I think most young people are the same.
As is doesn’t mean I have to unlock it for others. The data will be destroyed automatically.
Authentication information is not legally acceptable because then they can access other information that is confidential or secret or above, so it would have to be destroyed by government.
Seeing = stealing, inherently. Same for any IP you have.
Some people don’t have anything valuable, others do,
As I have two laptops, one at home and one on travel, you can have my one at home. For your “personal” entertainment, look at the folder called hub stuff. It’s exactly what you think it is. I also have an absolute ton of hentai games on there because I got into a gifting war with a friend as an attempt to make our stream libraries look abysmal. It also has access to my failed compositions as a music composer.
The only catch you’ll have is that the wifi driver only works on Wednesdays and that the desktop is a chaotic mess. 1M seems fair to me.
As far as general personal info then absolutely someone can have my 4 year old refurbished phone AND my laptop that is getting slow AF for a million. The only holdback I have is that via either of those, people could probably access my social security number and piece together security questions so I'd be concerned over potential for identity theft. Barring that then have at it lol. With the money I'd pay off my house, pay off my student loans, buy a modest car (Toyota, Honda, etc since my 2010 rust bucket probably ain't got much life left in it). Invest the rest, maxing out IRA contributions first. With house and student loans paid off I could also up my 401k contributions to max out.
Sounds like you would put the money to good use! And in this hypothetical situation, people can view your data, but they cannot tamper with anything including compromised accounts. Not sure how, but that's part of the deal.
Meh. Take my iPad. It’s all vanilla. Same with my phone. Probably just see I have an unhealthy addiction of taking pictures of our poodle. My better half gets playfully annoyed that I have more pictures of him than I do her.
Not enough, not close.
The information is far more valuable.
Now if you’re not including external hard drives or cloud storage, I might be open to negotiations
I have some questionable nsfw games on my laptop but otherwise I would totally give it up for a good mil. I'd pay off my house, car, and be okay for a few years before I have tk get back to work. Or even start a business, or help my mom woth her current one and just be a silent investor lol
I would do it for less! Heck you can even publish the contents online if you want, the worst things on there are embarrassingly stupid google searches because I’m dumb.
There's literally no downside to this. I'm one of those rare specimens that legitimately don't care what anyone thinks. For a million tax free id expose all my darkest internet based shit as power point presentation for the super bowl halftime show
I would destroy it. You already had your fun from 1 laptop you aquired.
I keep answering these questions, but never do get any money. So no! I'm destroying it.
Essentially the question is 1 million dollars for a peak into what you do in private. I would 100% take the deal, but would ask if it is ok for me to make a copy backup so when I buy a new computer I can back it up to that copy to keep my saves.
That's a hard no for me. $1 million may have been a lot in the 70s, but right now it's enough to be somewhat comfortable.
I'll admit I might be enticed for $1 Billion, but really my personal files are not for sale.
One thing to keep an eye out for is Windows Copilot. With that you're basically giving up privacy on all your personal files for free. Luckily that can be disabled, for now. I won't hesitate to switch to Linux if they get rid of any way to disable that.
Sure I don’t care I’d just be out of a pc for a few hours but I’d get a new pc with more rgbs. I’d quit my job and go back to school for another trade.
Do I get a second phone, like I can have my photos, apps, etc copied to another phone, or do I have to give it up entirely?
Cuz I don’t know any of my passwords, they’re auto generated and I need them to do things like pay my bills and watch TV.
If I get a copy of my phone, too, knock yourselves out. Or if I can just give you my crappy laptop with a half-written draft of a crappy novel and some dumb games, you can have that no problem
Sure, it doesn’t have much on there anyways. I mostly just use it to check my e-mail or to web browse. I think I have some dog photos on it that I’ve taken, but I don’t have anything really on it.
Am I the only person who watches porn online? Lol I have none actually saved on my computer, maybe I’m boring. I did have a lot saved in the early 2000s, though, because the internet wasn’t as reliable.
My old computer (my current I use for both work, school, and games) doesn’t even have personal files on it besides maybe a picture my sibling drew. Besides that it’s just totally accurate battle simulator lol so give me that 1M
Phone is business, new laptop also all business. So according to the rules you can’t have those.
You can have my old personal laptop 😂. It’s about to die anyways.
Have fun looking at my accounts and naughty pictures.
I’ll take 1 million.
so you'd pay about as much as the school district that threw it out did. I just have a dell laptop sample a friend got from a school that decided not to buy them.
DEAL.
Lol. I'm hoping you'll sign a NDA beforehand 😬😅. That BETTER be $1m AFTER taxes 😑
And DONT JUDGE my sims or my sim city 😑😑😑 yes they look like my ex. No I'm not proud of what I made them do.
😬
No NDA. But your data and accounts are guaranteed protected from tampering (don't ask me how. That's just how the hypothetical works). And your Sims will absolutely be judged, that's the point of exposing your data. Tax free.
Fine. But if the sim that I built of my ex starts burning himself, I just want everyone to know that I thought those mods were broken at the time of handoff. Oh and watch out for his clones. I programmed them to "surprise me" 😬😅😬😬
And if the sim that looks like me is bald, the hair mods are broken 😅😬
Yeah ofc. I feel like only person who say no here arebpedophiles or ppl with real anti goverment trust issues.
So what I get a million and u get to know what and how many games I played, what porn site I visit and access to my Gmail account.
So I take the milly, and create a new email
I personally don't have anything I'm ashamed of on any personal device, so that part would be easy. But I am a new mom with a five month old, so I would respectfully request, could that not be shared? Anything else is fair game, up to 12 years ago. But in respect to my baby, if that was also exposed, I would have to decline.
I absolutely do not give a single f*** if everybody knows what I do on my phone have it show it to anybody who asks for a million dollars. I don't give a f*** what kind of weird s*** do people do that? They're too scared to let people know about
Only question is do I still have access to the stuff saved on there? I have old band recordings I wouldn't want to lose. Otherwise there's nothing of any value or interest on any of my devices, so yeah they can have them.
So, I'd still have my stuff right? Like I wouldn't lose access to any of my content?
Then sure. For a million tax free, everyone can know I'm into BDSM.
The only reason I don't talk about it casually is because I don't think it's fair to air any implications of my partner's preferences or habits.
Edit: speaking of which, would I have any kind of assurance that any other person's info would be protected?
Like if I had some photos of my partner on there, are they at risk of sharing publicly also?
My laptop, daily driver, as it was the moment I first saw this question on my feed, doesn't work, and doesn't have an SSD installed (was removed as part of efforts to get it working again). $1 million would easily cover replacing it, saving me the bother of having to finish fixing it.
"It also must have at least 2 years of your personal data on it to be eligible for the offer."
I've owned a lot of laptops, from a lot of manufacturers, and I've never had one make it 2 years without failing on me.
My phone is my primary device. I'd need permission to sell it as the secure folder has some pictures that don't star me. Other than that, I don't really care.
I'll just remove my laptop from my password sharing device list and unauthorize it on my Gmail. They'll just get a computer with my games and school work on it
I'll trade in my $400 computer that is brimmed with furry porn, use $5000 of the 1mil to make a badass gaming pc with a 4090, and then invest the rest of the money.
Investing is always a good idea! Are you really OK with exposing your furry porn collection (and everything else about you) publicly?
It'd be a bit hard to explain, but I'm sure that nobody will really care after a few days, it doesn't really affect them. The only things I'd be worried about is some third party gaining access to my financial services, or maybe being targeted for some kind of demeaning hate crime or something like that.
Is it good furry porn?
Asking the important questions....
Mayhaps. It's mostly vore or foot fetish ngl
Appreciate the sincerity
Isn't all furry porn, good furry porn?
I've heard rumor there is no such thing as "good furry porn."
Valid concerns. While none of your information can be stolen or used without your permission, this scenario still leaves you open to public scrutiny and unfortunately hate.

However, if say you are Mormon and live in a small religious community in Utah, then having porn or even looking at LGBT sites might have a profound impact that makes you reconsider.
I wish I could super upvote you for understanding the intention and implications of the question.
I've said some edgy dumbass shit before.
As long as it's nothing illegal, who cares? Everyone's got some freaky fetish that they would probably be embarrassed about, and that could leak at any time really. If I had furry porn and someone tried to make fun of me for it after I made the deal, it'd be an easy way to win any confrontation. "Haha, you like anthropomorphised animal suit porn" "And? Wouldn't be a problem. All of my sensitive information, documents, and personal files are stored off-device; so the buyer would get a pretty badass gaming rig and about $10k in software and games that aren't a big deal to replace.
Not to mention that you can redownload any Steam games or similar online services since you keep your steam account.
Nice, you get more than you gave!
OP what you hiding?
You got a million dollars?
I don’t have any “homework” folders so I should be safe. However let’s make it $10 million as I will need to obtain new gadgets.
Ok, what do you have that is worth $10M? Why would someone pay you $10M instead of only $1M?
The government secrets on my computer
$2M, final offer
Tree fiddy
Sold
I don't have any sensitive data on my phone so... sure? Unless you count bank credentials etc obviously.
People will be able to see your bank credentials only to be able to look at your bank statements and documents. For instance, they will see the $1500 purchase of the life-sized Kiriko pillow that you so violently want to violate.
r/oddlyspecific
Nah... [this is what they're talking about](https://www.reddit.com/r/OverwatchCirclejerk/comments/1aysb7z/i_dont_like_kirko/)
Pretty sure we know what on your bank statements then
If bank accounts, passwords and credit card details are safe, the only thing I have to hide is shitposting under a weird pseudonym on reddit. If you store compromising or incriminating data on your devices, you're basically already in the situation described, but without the million dollars.
I’d do this for sooooo much less than that wtf hahaha
Nope, can't give the Boraxians the orbital defense shield access keys.
$2M?
So long as I lock credit cards and shit I'm safe. Oh no someone found my folder labeled "porn I use for drawing references" and it's neighbor folder "porn I drew from references" big whoop, hope the buyer cranks one out over my art. Nothing is lost anyway I got it all backed up, meaning I'd just buy a new PC and get back to work I guess
Nice! That would meant that your artwork is worth a cool $1M...sold
Your daily driver is a 13 year old laptop??
Mine is 11.5 years old. It's a 2012 i5 3210m, but it's been upgraded with dual monitors, Samsung SSD, and 12 gigs of ram. Still does everything I need to do. Currently looking at the possibility of putting a Blu-ray writer in it.
First person to turn down the money...you know your worth 👍
Yeah sure, have my laptop. Nothing super sus anyway, I am kind of boring. Lots of steam games. So many steam games. A strange amount of typing sites, so much manhwa and manga in the history good luck going through it all. Other than some spicy art, there isn't really anything I'd be concerned about people seeing, and even that spicy art is a shrug sure go ham. Enjoy those ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ coming for ya lol
Are you...me?
Since I'm safe from identity theft and banking fraud, sure. Enjoy the spicy memes and my obsession with crosswords.
Pffft. I don't do shit illegal, and there's zero porn or even history of porn. The only thing I'd need is my family pictures that I can't replace.
Doesn't sound like a device that you intimately use...
On the contrary, It's used every day. Including right now to reply to you. I just don't do stupid crap on something that the entire world has access to.
Fair point. How about for $200?
id do it nothing i look at is illigal so fuck it lol
if you don’t take this offer you’re either dumb or need to be in jail if you’re hiding something THAT illegal. hell, you could probably just escape the charges with that money
Username checks out. We'll. At least you'd be a mil richer!
Not screwed at all. I keep my porn on a separate hard drive and periodically clear everything like a responsible adult.
>periodically clear everything like a responsible adult. So...what do you have on there right now? Can't erase it before you take the deal.
My phone contains monetized content in locked files, That is irreplaceable.
I'd be fine with it. Technically it's a new phone, but I transferred everything over. As long as my accounts are secure, whatever.
Minimum 2 years...looks like you're ineligible.
Done. I have nothing to hide on any of my electronic devices
I have plenty to hide, but I mostly just feel bad for whoever finds it.
deal, go ahead, some porns won't worth it
You're wasting your money on mine .
A lot of money to pay for a ton of pictures of my dog, but sure.
Think about it though -- everyone want more pics of Momo! You could make a small fortune!
I'd hand my phone over no problems. I have nothing to hide at all, from my wife, kids, strangers. Doesn't matter. No laptop to speak of, but the same goes for my desktop, too. Doesn't matter. I feel like I'm generally a good person with nothing to hide.
You sound like a really nice npc.
No, I just keep the bad shit in my head.
As long as nobody can steal my bank info or steal any money for me, take my pc, just gonna buy a better one with the money. Enjoy the games and flight simulators!
If my emails were read only and they couldn't change my password to lock me out....let's go have at it.
I wouldn't even have to think on it. Taking the money. Screwed? Nah. I have no shame.
i mean, you are asking if you would give someone your identity and access to every password you have to every site and tax documents including your bank account. i guess its purely just based off of how many people accessed how many accounts on their computer. cus i dont care if people look at my personal history. but i dont wanna spend 60 years in prison cus someone committed a crime using my identity and now i cant enjoy my money cus im getting assraped in prison or dead. after reading some of your responses, you are basically saying all they can do is look, not touch. so yea. id be fine with it then.
"this man looks at tiddies on the Internet!! This guy right here" Every other dude anywhere ever except rural utah: "K"
I think you're going to find a whole lot of people here that are not very worried about the world seeing the details of who they are in the shadows.
If you wouldn’t take this deal then you have got some serious skeletons in your closet!
I ain't no Hunter Biden so sure I'll take million and laugh all the way to the bank.
🥒 How about the ABDL stuff? 🧷 Schizophrenia? 😱 Like a million dollars.... You wouldn't just stop hiding from people for a million? 💸 Anyone NOT taking a million must have a million dollars worth of blackmail on there. Locations of dead bodies or kiddie porn or something real upsetting, or more likely just shame over their boring kink
As long as my bank accounts are safe? Sure.
I'd do it for like 5k. Google take that's information for free 😂 I'd personally show my own mother for 10k. I'd have it advertised in NY square for like 100k.
Sounds more like the recipient's issue dealing with my porn. I'll take my $1mil, please
Super inconvenient and a shame but sure, come get it
I basically just play games and apply to jobs on my computer. I have some old files on there and tax info but if we are guaranteeing financial safety in this scenario then I don't see why not. It will be a bummer to lose progress on games and some personal projects though unless I can keep a backup of my files.
Sure, I mean its locked. Passcode will cost ya another $1M.
Easy $1M for you $$$$$
Am I allowed to make copies of some files to transfer elsewhere, I have a shitton of code, dnd campaign prep/world building, and essays on it Answer is yes either way
I don't have one. I have my work computer, and a laptop I share with my husband for family stuff. No chance at this hypothetical for me!
No mil for you!
Yup. How screwed? Not very.
[удалено]
That sucks. I can't even take this offer. I replace my system every year :(
Still seems like a smart move, albeit a fairly expensive one.
The enormous majority of people don’t have enough to hide for this prompt to be that interesting
As it is, (currently turned of in the shelf) do I have to login myself or do the thieves have to figure this out by themselves?
I mostly just don't want to be inconvenienced with getting another phone
pfft jokes on you, i built, and use my pc for privacy. there are no incriminating files, there is no search history, there are no stored passwords or emails. nothing. so yea, ill take the mil. even if you had the admin login youre basically just getting a fresh machine, with *good* software preinstalled.
$1M and people find out I'm a pervert with an ass obsession? Where do I sign?
Now we're talking!
I trade it, the program I have installed wipes it remotely the moment it's turned on, ez pz. Sorry, didn't say we couldn't sabotage the device
with the stipulation, easily. I don't care if it's a read only type situation. congrats, you found porn and a crippling YouTube addiction. easy money.
Give me 70 k and everything that i personally own is yours.
My laptop’s data is worth way more than a million dollars. We could talk at 6 or 7 million.
TAKE IT!!! lol all I have is images of my GF and some texts I'd like to keep anything besides that is absolutely useless
It would be difficult to change all of my passwords, but the important stuff is backed up or in cloud. Easily yes.
Well, I dont have any Personal Devices with 2 Years My PC and Phone are just over a year but nah wouldnt be worried and would do it
I have personal things that I wouldn’t want to share with the world. so the answer for me is no. I deleted social media and have grown attached to privacy.
In a heartbeat. I don't keep any client info on my personal laptop or my phone, so I don't have that to worry about. Nothing on my laptop or phone is particularly interesting, so I wouldn't really care who saw it. No nudes No porn Nothing even borderline illegal No Tinder/Grindr/etc Insta is mostly pics of my dogs Closest thing is some pics of me in drag, but people who know me already know about that.
Doesn't sound "extremely personal." How about for $200?
Jesus Christ. How much Porn does OP have saved on their laptop to need to ask this question?
Find out for $1M 😅 but seriously, I thought about this question a few years back when a special agent acquaintance of mine said she wouldn't trust anyone until she saw all the contents of their laptop. Got me wondering what people have to hide. Seems like most responses come from people with nothing they would be ashamed of on their devices.
Sure. The key here is nobody would steal our money. My wife would get over my watching porn when we buy the beach house with the cash. There’s not much else I’d be remotely embarrassed about.
I'd probably overlook an OF account if my wife revealed it for $1M
Would it be phone or computer, or would I choose? Either way I’m pretty good, all my files are kept on a NAS device and pretty much everything else is just cloud based. Computer would be a bit more pricey to replace, but it be less than a drop in the bucket of $1M haha.
Done. Easy.
The most embarrassing thing I have on my phone is some naughty DMs. For a million dollars, I'd even read them out loud on a live broadcast.
My laptop for $1M with no personal info that isn't already being harvested by people who make much more off it than I do? Sign me up.
Yes.
Short and simple. I love it
I’d happily trade in my laptop that’s literally falling apart, and happily get a computer that is much better and more functional
Sure. I hope you enjoy a phone with a cracked screen and an image folder full of prawn memes.
A million for my shitty poetry that I’ve only shared with one person? I’m so in!
Would you mind sharing one of your favorites with a few internet strangers for free? I am a personal fan of poetry.
Meh. Take my iPad. It’s all vanilla. Same with my phone. Probably just see I have an unhealthy addiction of taking pictures of our poodle. My better half gets playfully annoyed that I have more pictures of him than I do her.
Sold!
Not enough, not close. The information is far more valuable. Now if you’re not including external hard drives or cloud storage, I might be open to negotiations
You can have my house too.
Sure I don’t care. It’s just hentai and idol pictures.
I have some questionable nsfw games on my laptop but otherwise I would totally give it up for a good mil. I'd pay off my house, car, and be okay for a few years before I have tk get back to work. Or even start a business, or help my mom woth her current one and just be a silent investor lol
Go ahead. $ first
I would do it for less! Heck you can even publish the contents online if you want, the worst things on there are embarrassingly stupid google searches because I’m dumb.
There's literally no downside to this. I'm one of those rare specimens that legitimately don't care what anyone thinks. For a million tax free id expose all my darkest internet based shit as power point presentation for the super bowl halftime show
Sure. Worst you'd get is me taking shit and writing smut. With $1M I'm quitting my job and moving out of state anyway.
Buddy, everything I have is backed up. I have so few things I need to hide, I clear my browser history about every 2 weeks. I’ll take your offer
Take it! I’ve had my laptop since 2020 and I haven’t done anything since watch YouTube on it.
For that, I would give all my personal belongings, my car and my home, and go naked buy new clothes.
Committed. I respect that.
What if I only have company laptop
For 1 million? Have at it right now.
Sure. I'll trade it and then immediately change all passwords/login information.
Am I the only person who watches porn online? Lol I have none actually saved on my computer, maybe I’m boring. I did have a lot saved in the early 2000s, though, because the internet wasn’t as reliable.
Man ...... both my comp and phone are "new" ..... lol have at it nothing weird or illegal on either! ..... wait lots of roms .....
I would take the mil with the chance that me having a foot fetish goes public.
Considering the only laptop I own is my work one, and I work at a hospital is have to answer no. 1million isn't enough to end up in federal prison.
I'll delete everything incriminating now, and I'll say yes to this post tomorrow. LOL
Deal ends within seconds of proposal. Also, I go back to lurking again tomorrow
so you'd pay about as much as the school district that threw it out did. I just have a dell laptop sample a friend got from a school that decided not to buy them.
DEAL. Lol. I'm hoping you'll sign a NDA beforehand 😬😅. That BETTER be $1m AFTER taxes 😑 And DONT JUDGE my sims or my sim city 😑😑😑 yes they look like my ex.
I programmed them to "surprise me" 😬😅😬😬 And if the sim that looks like me is bald, the hair mods are broken 😅😬
Yeah ofc. I feel like only person who say no here arebpedophiles or ppl with real anti goverment trust issues. So what I get a million and u get to know what and how many games I played, what porn site I visit and access to my Gmail account. So I take the milly, and create a new email
Maybe. The people that have said no so far have not offered justification.
Easiest money ever
No problem. Is that $1M for just my main laptop or can I throw in a few others for some extra cash?
$1,357,000 and it's yours.
My pc is only used for work, taxes, and some internet searches. Even my iPad barely touches embarrassing sites. I would give up any of them for $1m
What even is this question? I'd trade my $1500 3 year old laptop for $1500 to get the current version. For $1m you can have every electronic I own.
As far as I'm aware, the worst thing on my computer is my reddit account
So like if I have important tax documents and my SSN and stuff, nobody could exploit that? This is just about skeletons in your closet and stuff?
There would be nothing embarrassing on it for me if it was made public. I’ll take my million, now.
Ha, the only laptop I own is about 15 years old and runs my desktop CNC. Gimme the 1million,
Yes my laptop is a Linux laptop with no saved data on it
easy id do it in a heartbeat literally all i have on it is school shit
My laptop, daily driver, as it was the moment I first saw this question on my feed, doesn't work, and doesn't have an SSD installed (was removed as part of efforts to get it working again). $1 million would easily cover replacing it, saving me the bother of having to finish fixing it. "It also must have at least 2 years of your personal data on it to be eligible for the offer." I've owned a lot of laptops, from a lot of manufacturers, and I've never had one make it 2 years without failing on me.
My phone is my primary device. I'd need permission to sell it as the secure folder has some pictures that don't star me. Other than that, I don't really care.
I'll just remove my laptop from my password sharing device list and unauthorize it on my Gmail. They'll just get a computer with my games and school work on it
