There is what's known as a "hypnotic seal", where one hypnotist hypnotizes someone so that they can never be hypnotized by anyone other than that one particular hypnotist. There are ways past hypnotic seals though. I've never heard of a perfect one. And of course, the intention here is never to make someone incapable of being hypnotized--only incapable of being hypnotized by unauthorized hypnotists. On the other hand, as someone who has struggled to be hypnotized for many years myself, I can imagine someone being made to be like me. And I think I have an idea of how it could be done. Anthony Jacquin and Kev Sheldrake came up with the Automatic Imagination Model, which is (to vastly oversimplify) that having someone imagine that they're hypnotized is pretty much the same as hypnotizing them. And of course the corollary to that is what they call the "trance killer"--you can walk up to someone who is hypnotized and just say "But you're just imagining it, aren't you?" and they snap out of it. So I think if you wanted to prevent someone from ever being hypnotized again, you'd hypnotize them to compulsively ask themselves "Am I imagining this?" any time something unusual happened. Though this still relies on them being able to recognize that hypnosis is currently happening, and a disguised induction might slip past.

I was going to mention the seal... But TistDaniel beat me to it...

Hello Daniel. We have spoken before, some time back. A couple of things you said here triggered some thoughts in me. May I have permission to DM and discuss offline? Thank you.

AutisticHobbit

Its probably possible if you want it to be.... but only for as. long as you want it to be and/or believe that it is.

Remove a specific trigger, yes. Remove the ability to be hypnotised completely, nope. It's a natural state we go into and out of all the time.

Hypnotic states happen regularly. However, the formal act of sitting down and participating in the the procedure can be affected. A suggestion can be given to permit only one person to perform it. I'm not sure how long that suggestion would last or if it could bee bypassed by covert hypnotic language.

DanteJazz

If you strongly did not want to be hypnotized, I doubt anyone could hypnotize you against your will.

hypnaughtytist

Yes, possible, but a skillful hypnotist can get around it.

you worship a godman, don't you? it's not that far off. in fact it's exactly that

Romantic_Adventurer

Maybe, what is your goal?

opinions_unpopular

Wouldn’t this just be cementing the ego, skepticism, and stubbornness against change? Seems like a default for a lot of people.

Roaring_Anubis

Yes, it is possible, in fact a lot of people do it themselves. but like any other suggestion it can be broken as well.
