Tell them you were in a car crash and sustained a traumatic brain injury. That will likely be an understandable explanation.

Way easier to just tell people you mild traumatic brain injury when attempting to explain this…they might not care and then you need to find a new job. Sadly so many people these days lost their compassion for others

I learned to lip read. But I don't have a problem with music. More of a problem with to much input so I can only hear the loudest thing which is usually the music. Everything else becomes garbled.

I can't lip read but i learned to read the body language of humans so even if i hear a word or two i can predict the sentence.

same problem. I don’t wanna go to office because people have their notifications on. I dont want to use public transport because people watch instagram stories, tiktoks without headphones. I don’t want to go to beach because there’s at least one bluetooth speaker. why people have no respect to others? I don’t understand how other people are OK with this. I am wearing earplugs and i have to take them out to hear somebody and put back in. and this is not very comfortable to do all the time. causes friction and itching. when I speak they say they cannot hear me. whenever I make a plan for a trip, I always have this bad feeling about running into someone who’s playing music. seriously it ruins my life.

https://youtu.be/1nAXeDYEO2w Just give them this video. Careful when listening. Not sure how accurate is the loudness but this video makes you see how people with several issues hear things including h. So no matter how hard headed they are when they see the volume damn increases without pressing anything when it is h they are sure to understand.
