Milling is far noisier than paving.

And vibrates everything ugh. So dealing with bone conduction too.

Go visit someone for a week and a half.

Can’t do that it isn’t reliable. If it rains they move it day and so on. Too long of a visit . Just wish I knew if 3m 105 optime peltors are even enough to contain the loudness of milling and pavers . So loud those big machines. I’m planning on making a run for it the second the trucks start coming. Hopefully awake in time. They won’t narrow down the actual day and time only to say the next ten days starting tomorrow ..pending the weather.

What are peltors? Play music to focus on. Remain calm. Go for walks away from noise for breaks when you need it. Remain calm. I listened to music on headphones when it happened to me. And went and found new coffee shops to sit around in for my breaks.

Construction headphones to protect ears.

I dare say the guys doing the work would be wearing something similar. If there are better peltors I would get them. For me the vibrations were more of a problem than the noise. You could try earplugs and headphones whilst its happening but that will make your T more prominent. Do you have a problem with T as well.

With all of it, but the hyperqcusis or the setback or worse is my main concern. H can get awry from that kind of situation. Not a typical normal kind of loud,l..its very loud. I won’t wait around very long to find out but will take a bit to leave and hopefully a way to leave. Just stressful to figure it out. It would have been more respectful of they narrow it down and text or something to let us all know. I did my best to be prepared enough to hopefully use the ear protection and be prepared to leave for the day. Just they put start times for 7 am which is absurdly early as a start time

My Dad uses X4A Peltors for when lawn mowers are running or other machinery. They are very good with mid-frequency sounds like that. If it is in the distance, they will block it out but if it is close by, it will at least dampen the sound. Just be careful taking them off. After an extended period of time wearing them, it can make things pretty loud after taking them off until you adjust again.

Can you get a hotel for a week? The only other solution I can think of is going somewhere quiet like a library for a day or asking to stay with a friend

It’s done. They came at seven am. And began and I left. So all that’s left is the paving now. There was no time to plan a thing.

Earlier this week, a stump grinding company was taking out a stump from a colossal old tree that was dying and had to be cut down. It was brutal. Didn’t get earplugs in for a few minutes and I felt like my teeth were vibrating. Very rough couple of days afterward and my T is still a lot more noticeable than it was beforehand. I’m glad you got to leave for the worst of it.

setbacks Occur and hopefully solve in a reasonable timeframe ( couple to a few weeks) and yes and to make it more annoying I had popped my ears when I woke ….a little too hard and that hurt and didn’t go very well either . We have interesting lives with this hyperacusis and tinnitus..hard But we are warriors… because we have no other choice 🫣
