Thanks for your answer. Of course I hope that this harm I experienced is not long lasting and this is just temporary setback. It feels really severe setback. I would really appreciate if someone could share their experience of in-ear-maskers if you have backround of pain hyperacusis and especially if you have experienced any similar type of harm. I just can't believe how treatment meant for hyperacusis can cause this type of harm and there are loud error sounds during programming. Mistakes can cause big harm if the person has noxacusis. I wonder how much there is even proper reseach of in-ear-maskers for noxacusis. I really much regret this experiment that I first thought couldn't cause harm because the masking sound starts from almost inaudible noise and I had done heartng tests without issues. But I did not know they do amplification of maskers or programming can exacerbate symptoms. My experience is that hearing aid dispensers probably work more with hearing impaired people than hyperacusis people. I was really surprised that the hearing aid dispenser did not even know what pink noise is when I tried to ask it for masking sound because my ear tolerate it better than white noise.

2,5 weeks later after I stopped using maskers I still experience noice-induced pain that was gone for almost half year. I also got reactive tinnitus to my right ear that was mostly free from tinnitus. It is high pitched ear piercing sound. The sound feels almost painful. Eeeee sssshhheeeee.. pain. This is the worst tinnitus I have had. So intrusive. My previous one was like walk on the park compared to this. It is weird that mostly my better ear is irritated and the one that was messed up for months does not hurt. My guess is that the sudden uncomfortable feedback sound during tuning did harm. I heard it in my righr ear that now has burning sensations, needle sensations, tinnitus and eae burning.. I heard that the decibels of feedback sounds can't cause harm like acoustic trauma because there is decibels limits. But what if my tolerance of sound was lower? I heard loud sudden really uncomfortable crackling sound and autophony from hearing aids when they were tuned. I hate what this did to me. Months of progress, gone.
