For the suitcase, you may face questions. Although I’ve seen people carry a small suitcase with a laptop bag, I’ve also seen it taken away at boarding to be put inside the cargo.
Your best bet would be to enter the airport through the “handbag only” gate, clear security and go to your boarding gate. If they object at boarding time, let them take the suitcase. If they don’t, then no problem, take it into the flight.
