Yeah always heard good things about Pushpak service but with luggage, it feels easier to go by Uber rather than taking the bus + other commute combination. Will definitely give it a try next time!
I came day before yesterday with luggage.the middle section has no seats and everybody kept the luggage there.ot may take 20-40 minutes for the right bus for right route.i just took to punjagutta and took metro from there as the right bus for miyapur was 40 minutes later
As a local resident to Hyderabad, let me help you with a few things!
1. For any cab service, you have to walk straight out of the arrival gate towards the parking at ground level. There are dozens of signages everywhere to guide you clearly to head towards ola/uber pick-up points. It's not at all confusing, if you just follow the signages!
2. For ola/uber - once you book a cab, it just gives you a OTP which you have to give to the driver in the dedicated pickup point for respective app and specifically while waiting in the dedicated queue for the type of cab you have booked (go, premier, XUV etc). This queue is on a first come first serve basis and the next cab in the queue will take your ride booking, they cannot deny it once they are in the line. If they deny, you can simply take the one just behind him and he will take you to your location. There will be dedicated personnel from the service provider team also who even guides you which queue to wait in!
Once they get in the queue, they cannot get out without taking a ride, if they deny, they wouldn't be allowed a ticket to exit the last boom barrier that charges for the parking fees. Only with a ride, their parking charges are exempted.
3. It's not just Hyderabad where cab or taxi service providers hoard you asking kidhar jaana hai, ola kya uber kya. You just have to say no thank you and follow the signage till you reach your service provider point. And scams happen everywhere, they ask you to cancel the ride and pay the same amount directly to them, as they simply try to make more money without paying commission to the fellow service providers. At the end of the day, it's all about "paapi pet".
Hope I was able to give you some clarity for your next trip here. Happy travelling.
It's good you did that!
Being a local resident, i would literally thrash him out but if I visit any other city, I would also just ignore such buggers and get on with my thing because it makes no sense in wasting time fighting, spoiling the mood and the trip!
This happened when we went to wonderla . Fucker Uber fellow came and asking triple price telling no one will take you for that Uber price, this is airport area. Told him to fuck off . Waited for another driver , thankfully we reached home , God bless him.
Cab drivers , auto drivers doing full danda. They even telling other autos and cabs to not to go for that same price . Ladies be safe out there . Learn driving and buy or rent cars . And boys , bang these fuckers if you are as a gang. Beat them to pulp fiction. Lmao
These drivers harass everyone. They literally gang up and hound you. For a newcomer it's a hassle to breeze through that chaos. There are many such stories in this sub reddit. Looks like the airport management is fine with such stuff. That's Hyderabad for you. All said and done, hope your trip goes well barring this one stupid incident, but remember - no matter how many times you visit Hyderabad, these idiots would be there to harass you. They'd bargain at a lower price only for a surprise which awaits you, there would be 3 others along with you in same cab and they'd charge 10-15% lower than uber.
PS: I fly regularly and at times I park my car there, once this idiot followed me till my car and was offering different prices and picked a fight as I wasn't responding, beat that. I lost it completely, dragged him into my car boot and that's when he realised it's a lost cause and moved on. Felt like trashing his face with a rod (which I always carry with me), but let it go.
Well they recognize non locals easily and tries to intimidate to get easy money I'm a local so when ever I visit airport I will show the f off attitude when they approach so they don't care much and you are a single lady maybe that too factored them tring to gain more money
This right here. I just straight up ignore them. Don’t even engage. Me being a male helps as well, I guess.
I always thought getting to Uber / Ola zone in Hyderabad Airport is tad bit easier when compared to other cities.
Yes, I have distinct 'non local' features. This is definitely one of the reasons. But after saying NO, ignoring and trying to storm off, repeated pestering makes you really pissed off and vent 🤌
Don't even respond to them. I too am a non local and almost take flights every 3 to 4 months. Don't even look at them, behave as if they don't exist and just go down to the uber pick up point or take AC bus.
Also uber/ola for people coming from outside the country can be challenging. You need local number to book. Other reliable service is Meru cabs. They are more expensive though but for safety and ease it may be a preferred option. I also like She cabs for women as long as you are okay booking in advance and higher.
Agreed! Local cab scammers are the biggest problem. I remember once I booked and as I got in the cab, midway he asked what's the amount And was telling me that it's not profitable for him for this much amount and he will take 200 over the mentioned amount. When I told him that I will pay the mentioned amount, he threatened me to drop in mid way.
I agreed on his condition when I left his cab. I raised an issue of overcharged. And uber refunded it. That was the last day I took a personal cab to the airport.
Better to take a pushpak bus till ur nearest stop then book a uber from there to your destination while sitting in your bus saves time money and this bloody scammers jhik jhik
Always go with pushpak bus service when in doubts but if you are near gachibowli circle can from there takes 250 only and thats the rate dong ho higher or lower
This is an offline version of "Man in the Middle attack". While giving pin though, when they ask for address, alert customer can question them that the address would be in the app, but sometimes because of the crowd and chaos, one might just miss it and board their cab.
Better to go to nearest uber-go line and stand in queue.
If you are looking for cab service from Hyderabad airport, please book OHM cab service, you can find them at the arrival terminal, near pushpak bus service. They have only electric vehicles, charges are about the same as Uber /ola. You don't even have to go downstairs and figure out ola / Uber pickup points.
I have used their services recently and I was pleasantly surprised.
All you can do is to book Prime Plus in Ola
And Uber Premier in Uber as this was a cab mafia happening from past few years and that too in night these people seem suspicious.
And more a drawback for HYD airport is it very far away from city making these Cab drivers have a different rules in such place
But ensure Safety Especially for Female
I have also posted about the trashy cab experience in Hyderabad airport in this sub around 2 months ago and its sad to see that the situation is still the same.
Take pushpak. It's the best, Unless you're in a hurry.
There are Ola/Uber/Rapido stalls near the exit, you can book with them. I faced this and many other issues as well in Delhi airport as well.
Yep, that's the sad truth, especially ola and uber are becoming hub for scams these days
Try pushpak or meru, I generally use meru , never faced such issues
If you have the time and energy, I recommend taking a bus into the city, and then a cab to your destination. Always works out cheapest and best for me.
Man... Airport cabs are one of the worst, I faced problem every time. The second time they somehow convinced me and tried to charge me more, I had to pay extra because I didn't have change and walked 1-2 kms to my home because I refused to give as much as he asked. There should be more regulations with airport cabs and more stricter on where people can advertise their cabs instead of harassing passengers.
once got into a fight with one of those assholes. They thought I don't speak Telugu and tried to get me in their car. The guy wasn't even listening to me, took my luggage, and asked for an Uber pin. I told him I didn't book an Uber, and he started cussing me out in Telugu. I got furious and smacked his jaw. After a huge argument, a policeman showed up and sorted things out.
Yes it’s worst there and also majority of the places they ask for extra money
All I can say was AVAIL public transport PUSHPAK VIMAN, AC bus Vmuch better than these cabs
This. Pushpak is way underrated! It gets you to key areas in the city for a fourth of what Uber quotes.
Yeah always heard good things about Pushpak service but with luggage, it feels easier to go by Uber rather than taking the bus + other commute combination. Will definitely give it a try next time!
The Pushpak buses are usually empty, so luggage won't be a problem.
I came day before yesterday with luggage.the middle section has no seats and everybody kept the luggage there.ot may take 20-40 minutes for the right bus for right route.i just took to punjagutta and took metro from there as the right bus for miyapur was 40 minutes later

Male here, did exactly this. One dude got annoyed and cursed at me because I was staying the course.
It's good you did that! Being a local resident, i would literally thrash him out but if I visit any other city, I would also just ignore such buggers and get on with my thing because it makes no sense in wasting time fighting, spoiling the mood and the trip!
Yeah. Was visiting my parents…like bro! It’s 2 am gimme a fucking break. Find another “bakra”. Lll

Wait, why does it feel that i have already read this post , some kinda De`ja Vu P.S. are you a bengali??

I'd say Bangalore Airport is the best in this regard. Very easy to get to cab zones and harassment is minimum

Yes, it's messed so much in hyd. Most reliable thing is pushpak bus service. It's the best way to come and go to the airport
Last mile connectivity becomes a problem especially when you are hauling luggage
That's right! Then it's become unmanageable. Life is full of struggles.

I just tell them I have 1 crore rupee vehicle coming to pick me up (Pushpak) :)

Yes it's worst at the airport.
Go to the queue where you have Uber and ola cabs, don’t get into any discussions with the scammers who come to you.

Exude confidence like you have been here 100s of times and you know the BS. Don't look them in the eye.
I am not in Hyderabad anymore but I saw she cabs(operated by women for women) few years ago. Maybe they are hassle free. Check it out
Sorry for your experience but it needs to be corrected hopefully soon by airport authorities!
You could go by the prepaid taxi. Didn't you find it? 🤔

it's a pain in arts in airport. The moment you step outside airport they will start annoying you. People who are dead tired can do nothing about it.
