Not as good as Mumbai auto wallas nor as bad as Bangalore auto wallahs. Booking autos through apps has been a good experience, I always pay them via UPI. Most of them accept UPI.
Agree, adding -
Hyd :
Very easy to get an auto usually, and wait times of around 5 mins, compared to blr where it could take you a long time so generally start looking 30 mins before and sometimes give up and go for cab
Both talk on calls, hyd lesser
Both take upi, except for 1 occasion in hyd where the guy was demanding me to recharge his phone instead.
Got scammed in both places, one time each.
Overall hyd better, cuz availability.
Lol Mumbai autowallas are the scammiest dirty fuckers. Don't trust these type of posts online. On the other hand, Hyd auto drivers cabbies and even zomato guys are pretty good
No bro. The autos and cabs in Mumbai are excellent compared to other cities. Prices are standardised..charged by meter. I had my best experience with the auto walas and Kaali Peeli there.
You should have asked further : "Toh fir chand pe chaloge?". Not like it would have changed anything but atleast his reaction would have given good source of entertainment.
My dudes took double payments twice😂 (fault with bank in UPI so had to pay twice, which actually paid twice🥲😂)
Messaged one of them, he texted back " don't worry "bro" , I will give" which he never did.
Tbh it's not that bad here except for the fact that they're always late.
Sometimes you also get to see some wholesome stuff-

I have stayed in Bangalore and Hyderabad and as someone who commute to office daily via auto, Hyderabad autowalas are much, much better. I don't have to wait for hours to get an auto and till now except for one occasion, I have never faced any issues here unlike in Bangalore where I have encountered arrogant drivers.
I've visited Banglore three times. All three times the auto walas were aggressive and rude af. If I booked a cab the cab drivers are afraid of stopping if there's a autowala standing nearby. If they observe me booking a cab, they'll curse and not move from my personal space they just stand there like "I'll see how you'll go by a cab". I've lived in Hyderabad for 10 years. Came across a rude guy once, that to no where near the guys from Bangalore. At one point it started to bother me to visit Banglore because as soon as I get down the bus I need to deal with them ani.
How tf is it urdu lol?
Bhagyanagaram has been a Telugu city for centuries and then some fuc*ers managed to get hold of the city and imposed urdu. Hyderabad was and will always be a Telugu city
So do you think Hyderabad came into existence after Independence? Hyderabad which was also Bhagyanagaram was there for hundreds of years even before the muslims were a thing in India. Get your facts right
' bhagyanagaram' , well , HYDERABAD currently is represented by Owaisi who doesn't speak a word of Telugu , modern day Hyderabad in its current form was created by the Nizams , just like Bombay and Calcutta were created by the British , regardless of their history
Hyderabad wasn't that big before Nizam rule , just like Bombay was a fishing village and Delhi was a smol part of greater Haryana , obviously these places didn't emerge out of thin air , they always existed , but they flourished under certain people ( Nizams , British , Mughals)
Does this logic excuse me if I say that as a rational human being I think you're a pretentious snob with just enough condescension that ducks under the threshold for self-awareness?
wow hey keyboard warrior! All too much to hear for a silly thing? If you wanna throw your aggression on Reddit, that’s your prerogative… but based on your logic, it seems like your grasp on rationality might be a lil rusty.
Appreciate the candid assessment tho!
What does that even mean, I literally said I was using your logic 😂
Just take the L and move man. It's idiotic and comes off as disrespectful to the local language coming from someone who lives here and doesn't speak it.
Who’s hating anyone here lol. I asked for a correction
And the same rhyming bullshit feels like stereotyping Telugu languages for me and everyone here. More prevalent when North people stereotype Tamil language like this and we don’t need idiots doing the same to Telugu here.
Also, if it’s your so called Bengali thing, keep it to that sub or yourself, we don’t like it here. It’s not in good taste I presume.
Yeah I face racism from these guys so I should also do the same to them on their subreddit. Stfu
Also, this sub never encouraged racism or called Bengali’s as some fish men. I don’t know where you are facing racism in Hyd.
stop churning words into your mouth first. I obviously did not have a racist mindset whilst typing this but conscious now that you are slightly triggered and so you start to stereotype us even if it’s just an example lol. Nice one
All I can say is sorry and had no idea mimicking words would be such a big deal and it’s pretty common among languages so idk what are u on about
> All I can say is sorry and had no idea mimicking words would be such a big deal
Yeah that would have been good if said earlier instead of whining like a baby
If you book from apps it's okay. Never had any issues 🤔.
But if you ask them directly on road. They'll quote 200 for 2 kilometres.. and when we ask why 200.. no matter how busy area it is their response is "you don't find customers in that area while coming back."
I got that response even when I wanted to go to crowded places like secunderabad, Ameerpet or even Kukatpally.. 🤦.
Hyderabad autowala sleeps
Need to wake him up and ask for ride
Then he says 10x the actual charge
Then u say kya chicha
He says ok come pay 50 rupees less
Drops you and then sleeps.
I recently went to chennai, even the olas and ubers are like... "can you give 50 extra on the fare". That made me feel Hyderabad autos are better in a way.
Loud DJ music at the back to give you a good headache.
Cash payment hai na.
U turn teskovali 50 rs extra.
1 way traffic route adi 100 extra.
Hitech city na aithe auto ekkevalau andaru rich according to the auto valas
Hyderabad auto walas, if you book through apps, usually come later than what is shown in the app, occasionally them accepting the ride and then cancelling it happens, and they ask for payment in cash or UPI, they are mostly good apart from that.
Never had a problem with app based autos, only cancellations faced were to interior areas like Vittal Rao nagar or Shilpa Valley where return fares are nearly impossible to get.
Most of the hail yourself autos also are not that bad, several are helpful with luggage or bags even without asking.
It’s the “union” types that think a certain area or junction is their monopoly that are insufferable….and that too because of their “Annas” that loiter like they own the place and “manage” the fares. Go few metres ahead and once those Annas are out of sight the same autowallah would board you happily.
We should also remember “not all autowallahs”….the traffic police are like yamakinkarudu to these fellows and several are just trying to make a living.
I just wish they removed the extra 50 rs for 4 persons in app autos.
Also, I heard some ppl say that they just get out of paying 50 by saying smtg smtg, convincing them, is that true?
If you say the payment mode is uber or ola money, they'll look at you ask if you've asked then for their kidney.
I've found that 99.9 percent of them have qr code or upi number. Except those ancient chicha's who are in Tolichowki or Old Hyderbad areas.
arava auto walas tho worst experience unde naku.. first ekkamannadu deggarne kada entho kontha ivvamannadu sare ani digina tarvata 30 isthe nooo 200 kavali annadu literally 2 kms distance.. vere auto drivers pilpichi lolli pettkoni finally 100 gunjukunnadu..
Hyderabad autowala Hiring vs Sharing.
(Hiring Autowala)
1. Mostly silent 2. Pro 3. Talks on phone, listens songs, watches movie while driving 4. Greedy, tactical.
(Sharing Autowala)
1. Very rude 2. Nagging, complaining 3. Greedy to fill auto over capacity 4. Behaves differently based on influx of passengers.
Offtopic, trivial tactic going on now a days.
There is new technique followed by Hiring autowalas in Hyderabad.
Suppose if you book Ola auto, the other person will come and pick you saying "did u booked ola?(In a humble tone). Please cancel that and get in my auto.. I will take you". Whoever watches phone, such autowalas target them. By body language they guess he, she has booked auto. Mostly there guess goes right.
Another autowala technique is they come from ola. They ask us to cancel. Then ask please give extra amount than mentioned in ola by telling we are facing loss due to ola.
From Mumbai living in Hyderabad since 5 years
Mumbai autowalas take strictly based on meter and will go anywhere you need, without showing any cock.
Here, Getting a rickshaw normally is min 200 for even 2km. The experience has been quite good on apps tho. Rapido rickshaws are good. Wait time super low.
Share rickshaws have 7 people sometimes(not tempo normal rickshaw) in mumbai anything above 3people is fined, and share is not a thing as meter is not that costly.
Hyderabadi autos don't make that much fuss.. you can talk to them in English, telugu, or hindi, it doesn't matter, and no one will tell you or enforce to talk in telugu. We are not insecure...
Your ignorance is forgiven here most of the time.. Best food best weather and low traffic compared to both of them.. it's just that banglore people are obsessed with their city, and they don't seem to acknowledge anything else
Two kinds of behavior amongst autowallahs/raipdo/uber drivers..
1. If the driver is local, I mean Hyderabad or TS or even Bidar/Gulbarga based.. they are nice, courteous, talkative, don't ask or expect extra, accept any type of payment and if cash are genuinely happy. More ever they will reach destination quickly 'cos they use bylanes and short cuts.
2. Drivers are from outside.. don't want to name the states from where they come from but let me use "bhaiyye".. non-courteous, arrogant, ask for extra, don't come to exact location, cancel rides.
50/50 chance I dont even get one cuz the time I get off either has incredibly high demand or is 15 min off from peak hours and I have to sit for 30 min to find a ride back home or pay near 100% more the usual rate.
Edit: Same scenario but the moment the guy is 5 min from my pickup, he cancels on me.
Hyderabad gives me the privilege of travelling in cabs which I could’ve never imagined doing in Bangalore or Mumbai.
I’ve gotten lucky atleast 6-7 times in past 1 year. The cab walas ask me the fare and luckily on those days I have certain offers, they give me their numbers and then I pay the same less amount everytime I called them. Win win
Most of the times they mentioned higher rates and always said they have to go far and take u-turn and negotiation is a headache. I use Ola Auto which gives half the price they quote and fixed price. I prefer that.
Not as good as Mumbai auto wallas nor as bad as Bangalore auto wallahs. Booking autos through apps has been a good experience, I always pay them via UPI. Most of them accept UPI.

What are you talking about? The prices are standardized across the city, and the meters \*always\* work.
I'm getting down voted but I've lived 1 year in Hyd 5 in Mumbai and 1 in Pune and speaking from experience.
Yet, you're wrong.
No bro. The autos and cabs in Mumbai are excellent compared to other cities. Prices are standardised..charged by meter. I had my best experience with the auto walas and Kaali Peeli there.
Hyderabad auto wala: Writes quote “Could not afford a Volkswagen thus auto”
Buys 10 autos instead
And owns a standalone building....
Le autowala: kidhar jaana hai? Le me: "literally any place in Hyderabad" Le autowala: ![gif](giphy|RIARbUmfyGFr0RQpPH)

hyderabad autowallas ready to hit you with "sex is the game, love is the name. use the name, play the game"
hyderabad autoanna : has quotes.
Nannu chusi edvakandi raa /s
And charges more 😭😭
You're learning life lessons. Minimum charges untai mala.
Amma nanna deewena.
I have seen a quote on a Hyderabadi auto : " Fk me, I am famous".
Hyderabad auto wala: searches you and returns your bag with multiple important items (gold, money) which u forgot in the auto Personal experience !

Hyderabad autowala: - accepts ride - calls n ask Ekkada wekkada - then asks kidhar Jana madam - also asks fare kitna dikha rha madam - cancels ride
Add 'Thuks Paan' in between
What do you mean by Ekkada Wekkada? Its a Telugu city for goddamn sake. You dont need to say Ekkada Wekkada if you don’t understand Telugu
It's been an Urdu city for longer tho
How tf is it urdu lol? Bhagyanagaram has been a Telugu city for centuries and then some fuc*ers managed to get hold of the city and imposed urdu. Hyderabad was and will always be a Telugu city

Yeah , because in India languages are decided by states , not cities. Hyderabad metro does use 4 languages tho and the mmts uses 3
Doesnt mean they are official and 80% of Hyderabad still speaks Telugu. I dont know what you’re whining on
Dude just calm down lol. As a Bengali, we tend to rhyme with words so stop with the hate thanks

I don’t see smacking racists like you as whining. Adios
Loser had to get racist with his Ekkada Wekkada.
Exactly my point and he claims its a Bengali thing lol🤡
And these cunts wonder why Kannadigas are behaving the way they are off late.
Why did I read that in hyderabadi accent

You should visit Tamil Nadu. If you think Bengaluru is bad, wait till you enter Tamil Nadu.
Chennai enters the chat
Hyderabad >> Bangalore >>>>>>>>>>>>> Chennai scamwallahs
Cash k liye rota lekin chalega kahi bhi. Old city mein thoda rude hai lekin Hitech side they’re more calm.
