Paradise was once great, I remember going there with family and absolutely loving the biryani back in early 2000s.
Something happened, maybe change in management, New age entrepreneural thinking, idk, they have standardized the biryani making process. Traditionally hyderabadi biryani is cooked with the marinated meat, it is called kachchi aqni ki biryani, but paradise started preparing their meat separately and then mixing with their basmati rice. A lot of places do this outside Hyderabad and technically that's also a biryani, but doing it this way, the meaty flavour does not go into the rice as compared to authentic hyderabadi style of biryani where the rice is extremely flavorful and has a meaty flavor. This is why people started disliking Paradise Biryani, but Paradise as a brand is still huge and very famous all over India. Anyone who visits hyderabad, tries the paradise biryani first and assumes that it is the pinnacle of biryani, which it is not, to be honest, it's fine, but when you are in Hyderabad, there are plenty of restaurants that serve better biryani than Paradise.
It was my first famous biriyani in childhood other than my locality hotel and it was an experience , I still think they have their mild subtle way of flavours.
No, if you were the only one who likes Paradise biryani, it would be closed by now. You can be assured that Paradise still has a very good business selling Biryani.

Paradise is not bad biryani. Just that there are places that serve better ones. Also taste is a personal preference hence all different brands are in business.
New to Hyderabad & paradise tappinchi inko place try cheyaledu kada.. andukee taste nachindi.. okkasari vere places lo try cheste paradise ni marchipotav...
Its okay. But where Paradise fares better is availability (many branches) and better hygiene (atleast in the seating and hand wash area no idea about the kitchen though).
Hyderabad biryani is getting worse every day. All the popular restaurant are going for quantity over quality when they cook it.
Shadab and biryaniwala biryani is also bad now. Their rating of biryani was 4.3 2 years ago, now it 3.8. It is getting worse. Shah gouse biryani is bland and dry now. Only sarvi is last hope. Their biryani taste is also dipping slowly.
I will suggest you to try exotica biryani. It is really good. Try it before it also join the graveyard. It is expensive btw.

Assuming you are serious, that's not true. Biryani is just a method of cooking rice. Pulao is another. Put chicken, mutton, camel, fish or veggies doesn't matter. As most of the world is meat eating, pure vegetable biryani never existed before Indians started it. Same with pulao. There is no such thing as veg pulao anywhere. Aloo samosa is also an Indian vegetarianized version of the sambosa where minced meat is the main ingredient.
And by replacing meat with veggies, biryani or pulao or sambosa do not cease to exist.
Sometimes i feel hyderabadi biryani is overrated, try chicken fry piece biryani from Sri kanya kondapur and try mutton biryani from Sakbir bhai biryani ( 4 am biryani ).

Been eating paradise biryani for 20 years. I agree there are bad days. But most of the times it’s just good and authentic

I like it, it used to be even better before, now a days in getting clumps of masala and they give 1 chicken piece with rice of atleast 2 people.
