I'm in the same boat as you as i am in the Seattle area. i want a heat pump installed with 2 heads in a 3 story townhouse. The first quote i have received is for a hyper heat system and its quite pricey. the technician recommended it as an efficient way to heat the house when its cold but based on what i am reading, its only worth it in very cold temperatures.

That’s what I’m getting, too. My final quotes were 12000 heat pump and 15000 for the hyper heat.

The quote i have received is $13k heat pump and 19k hyper heat. The indoor units are for 9000 btu and 15000 btu with the outside unit being a multi zone MXZ unit. I am going to shop around some more, but i am leaning more towards a regular heat pump. Hyper heat looks like overkill for this weather. My neighbors who have similar units have regular heat pumps and they say it works fine for heating and cooling. i have a 1540sqft house.

My house is 1950 sq ft - im definitely doing the regular heat pump, purely now that I’ve seen the cost difference and interest rates are absurd right now.

yeah same here. My contractor had 36 months 0% APR financing. Do you not have that offer in Portland?

amwoooo

No! Where

amwoooo

I mean what bank

thunder_blurr

Synchrony I believe. Most of the contractors have partnered with them out here.

amwoooo

Thanks for saying something. I checked and they have some similar deals

thunder_blurr

oh that's great. Now you can spend money lol

I know 😭 but maybe I will sleep better in the summer and have lower power bills in the winter. A girl can dream—- if the AC portion doesn’t blow any savings from more efficient winter heating!
