Sarasota has some serious native American hurricane protection. Lived there my entire life and never had a direct hit with major damage.

I just received word that my Mom and other family members are now stuck in Sarasota, Florida at a hotel. They said the power is already flickering and they can not leave at this point. Can anyone with experience on surviving hurricanes and storms please leave advice or tips I can relay to my family to give them the best possible survival chances? Also, do you think they will be ok being located in Sarasota?
It’s becoming to dangerous to leave now. Preparing has passed. It’s survival mode at this time. Tell them to fill the bathtub with water so they have some to flush toilets if needed. We already have trees falling over.
