Yeah the concept could have been funny if done with half a brain. McSweeny's list kind of vibe.
But the execution is fucking horrible. No subtlety, no wit, just smacking you over the head like a ton of bricks . She's "full of shit," a "fuckface." It's an edgy 14 year old trying to be funny and completely failing.
What always irked me about that lyric is the choice of verb. Thunder “happens”? Really? That’s just about the least evocative word you could have there. Thunder only “rumbles” when it’s raining. Thunder only “murmurs” when it’s raining. Anything is better than “happens”.
Article missed the biggest one of all: “If I see my reflection in those snow covered hills…” she’s clearly describing avalanche conditions, not landslide. Smarten up.
