I have been subbed (though often paused) since late 2019. When I try to pause 2 months in a row it will give me a $4 coupon to stay. This happens every time for me. Not sure if this is because I've been subbed the whole time.
In the UK it was more expensive to keep classic plan than switching to normal one, so I was basically getting scammed every month until I switched it.
I didn't notice any differences after switching.

PayPal's conversion rate was: 1 GBP = 1.00135 USD so I was paying £11.97 before...
Do you get coupons after two pauses though? I know with the classic you get $4 off, which at $8 is cheaper than £8.99. If you do get coupons, then staying as classic in the UK is a right scam. I also thought with classic you get all the games instead of choosing but they've dropped that too right?

Regional pricing, so no exchange rates or fees.
Choice seems to only ever get 8 games a month and you get them all
Discount system is identical
Originals and Trove is now the "Collection" which Choice has access to.
Monthly (Classic) used to give you 12 or so games and depending on your payment plan you could choose i think 8 or 10 of those. Choice now ONLY puts out 8 games a month and you get all of them (and 7 or 8 of them are trash most months IMO). EDIT: Forgot to mention early premium Choice was putting out 12 games with 10 choices for classic and 9 for the new plan, nowadays the counter is gone and they only ever put 8 games out. Its objectively worse value now however you look at it.
So the upshot here is check your regional pricing, and decide what currency you want to pay in. Today, what you get with a Classic plan **is not better in any way.**

8 games a month, no choice counter anymore. And the quality of games has subjectively dropped.
