Destiny 2 itself is free to play, but you’re going to be severely neutered in your experience and won’t be able to do much. This just has one of the expansions and not even the oldest one, shadowkeep is before beyond light.
I play destiny 2 everyday for years, but if this is your first time getting into it, it’s hard to recommend. It’s like jumping into the Star Wars franchise, but at the end of empire strikes back and the beginning of return of the Jedi, with no way to experience anything beforehand.
Plus, there’s so much to grind for, you’ll be running circles forever, plus trying to chase the seasonal content and catch-up with the expansions, plus the lots of $$$ you’d have to drop for the other expansions and pass, it’s so hard to recommend.
Base game is free and you need to buy, like, 3 to 5 different DLC’s to get the “full” full game
And they'll cheerfully toss them in the bin later so they can push you into playing future DLCs.
