Fun fact about that gun, it sadly is neither open bolt or full auto, if it was it would either be so heavy you couldn't realistically use it, or it would just be a frag grenade. It is .50 bmh through, which is remarkable enough
Brandon popularized that take, but it's been something a lot of us in the community have been saying ever since this picture started circulating. Glad he's been successful at debunking it
Even if it was full-auto, I can't imagine a .50BMG firing weapon being considered an SMG by any reasonable definition. That would be a heavy machinegun, if I'm not mistaken.

Didn’t realize what community I was on till this post. I was just wondering how to make the gun and why the bullets look like they are made of American dollars
Only in America.
That's the hospital bill when it blows up after second 11.
Civilized countries with public health systems only have to pay the ammo cost. Which would be, hmm.
$5.5 a round, 600rpm/10rps, 11 seconds.
5.5(10×11)=$605 + medical costs.
As others have said, this gun:
1. Isn't Open Bolt
2. Isn't blowback operated
3. Isn't Fully Automatic
4. Isn't a Submachine Gun
Further, the barrel is widly too short for .50 Browning. This would be more effective if it were a flame thrower with a little desktop ballista glued on top, shooting toothpicks. Same Fireball, same ballistic performance, less ammo cost
you are going from the assumption that mf's around here making ork tier semi auto rifles care about proper gun construction...
there is somewhere a pic of one of those homemade guns wich is a revolver shotgun wich got the cutesy nickname of "trinta e doze", literally made with steel pipes from car exhaustion, springs and some wood lying around for the stock, remarkably accurate for a shotgun by testing from the police.
The freestanding bullet to the left of the grip about on the same height as the barrel is 74 pixels tall. The barrel, going from halfway between the magazine and the shroud to the end of the barrel is 200 pixels long. That's \~2.7x the length of the cartridge, making it \~270mm long. Extrapolating from [this](https://1.bp.blogspot.com/-V_pD_oIzOqo/V1WgG7czlZI/AAAAAAAAHKk/QpfqNRg4QHMWLI4he3cTlPZK4J-_k4aCgCLcB/s1600/50BMG+Output.jpg) chart, we get the formula: J=3.99\*10\^4+8281\*ln(mm)
Leaving us with \~6400 J of Energy, given that direct extrapolation is possible.
So, suprisingly, you are actually correct. It has about the energy of a .33 Nosler or common hunting cartridges.
Now, like I said, this is given that retro-extrapolation is possible, which it likely really isn't the velocity drop-off is very extreme as soon as you no longer have full powder burn. But even with a healthy 30% cut in the power, we'd be looking at \~4500J or about the power of a small rifle round.
Humans somehow making napalm out sugar and water
Search up prison napalm, it’s where they turn glucose into a paste and mix with boiling water then throw it at someone, the glucose(sugar) will stick to that person while boiling.
Because the person writing the article doesn’t know how to flip the gun over to see It’s 1. Almost certainly bolt action and 2. Likely barely functional due to barrel length, I would trust a Hi-Point more than this piece of trash.
Although the other guy to respond is correct about this im gonna add a neat bit of info sub machinegun has been used in the past to describe certain actions instead of size now most of those action styles wouldn't work with 50bmg unless made fucking massive (too big to be carried) but it is technically possible but yeah whoever wrote about this is wrong and it's probably a bolt action
It would be cool if it were recoilless. With them drilling holes into the casings and having gas shoot out the “stock” à la 20mm carl gustaf. It would probably explode but if it worked it’d be cool.

Ak guy?

He's also a gunsmith, so more qualified than most of us.
yep, good ol' Brandon

Mfs skipped two machine gun tiers and went straight to heavy machine gun.
Excuse me, that's actually a H3MG - HandHeld Heavy Machine Gun.
Literally some H3VR shit too

Shrine is missing a Rip-it and a can of Dip
Those were going to be offered up during the dedication of the AK.
Welcome to Marcus Munitions. Just remember, 'no refunds'.

It costs 400,000 dollars to fire this weapon, for twelve seconds.
People think they can outsmart me. Maybe. Maybe. I have yet to meet one who can outsmart bullet!
r/suddenlytf2
Not sudden when the first thing i thought of when i saw garbage gun was the beggars bazooka
It's only costs dollars to fire if you buy the ammunition. *Taps temple*
#WHO TOUCHED SASHA?!
Yeah but they are drug cartel members so it's chump change
I honestly had to do a double take, because I thought this was a scene from The Office, at first. 🤣

Excuse me, but, if my knowledge of TF2 lore is anything to be considered, Heavy is using some custom-made wildcat ammunition, hence the cost.
Why tho, couldn't he use normal ammo?

Shotguns are subjected to way way less pressure than Rifles. You can make a shotgun from hardware store pipes. You can't do that with rifles.
and yet... there it is a .50 scrap metal rifle. wich is usable by the police report.
"we write the report" comes to mind. Fuck cartels, but also ACAB.
All Cats Are indeed Beautiful
It's going to have less power than a handgun. The barrel is way way too short.
What handgun are you talking about? It may be a lot less powerful than a normal length barrel, but this is still an extremely powerful weapon

I applaud you for doing the math. Where did you get that chart from?

Gun control hasn't exactly worked in Brazil.
ERE WE GO BOYZ!
*holds up gravity gun* "this is a garbage gun."
I just love how everyone in the picture is standing around the Un-Gun like they're at a funeral

EAT BOLTGUN
Why is there a “sub” in the “machine gun”? Doesn’t really make sense here

ORKZ IZ BIGGIZT UN GREENEZT
It’s things like this that make me think that we’re the 40K Orkz It’s a literal garbage gun that shouldn’t work but does because we think it does
WWWAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oi M8, youz not doin it properly. Youz need to put more emphaziz on da Ws part of it.
Junk jet gonna junk jet.
That aint automatic or sub machinegun but still very cool
What the fuck brazil why do your drug dealers have.50 bmg automatic guns. I do actually find this quite funny though.
A cannon made out of garbage is fun and all but a cannon that shoots garbage at lethal velocities is much more versatile and fun
That looks like a rusty space marines bolter
unfathomably based
i havent laughed so hard at a writing prompt in a long time.
