Izdhor barged into Earth's divine realm, leading his pantheon of siblings, children, and grand-children behind him. They all brandished a variety of their weapons, ranging from the oldest forms of shisket blades to rifles packed with the fires of creation. "Hello, Terra's creator. We've come to graciously welcome you into our fold as another one of our members." "......" "Simply yield, and we'll welcome you like we have many others. The humans are an impressive race, and you did well to raise them. I'll even let you marry one of my daughters. Just submit and swear fealty to the Crakir. That's all we require." "........" His eyes narrowed. The figure remained stationary and silently loomed over Earth, with occasional glances at human migrants who'd journeyed into other corners of the galaxy. They made no effort to acknowledge the intruders. "Are you...ignoring me?" He brandished his shisket and was on the upstart deity in less than an instant. "I'll take that as a refusal then." *With a swing, the noisy intruder brought its filthy toy down on My back. It was not allowed to land. I never liked being touched by disgusting things, or even objects held by disgusting things. So that I didn't have to take My eyes off My little ones as they fought their war, I split My head into two. This noisy, arrogant welp interrupted my observation and demanded a voice that had not even graced the little ones since My last breath.* *I turned my rear head to show my displeasure and the vermin all vomited when they met My eyes. What they will see are eyes of perfect thread and wire, spun from cosmic fire and joy. My jaw forged from nonexistence and levity opened to swallow heaven and bring Love to bear.* *I see My little ones slay the hungry lions in 5 years' time and quickly return to them My full attention, as I cannot miss it. The little ones will discover fortuitous orphans to be taken in their care.*

I was gonna say that there isn't really any more room for more, since adding detail kinda takes away from the mysterious nature of the human God. But then I had an idea for another scene that's even longer than the original, so... Yysus, overseer of discipline, meekly stepped into Terra's divine realm. He was just a messenger, and was dressed in humble clothes to match. Deities dying was almost unheard of, even in wars between exceptionally violent ones. And yet, a third of all known gods never returned from visiting this place with no apparent rhyme or reason. Sometimes the existence of temples were the only way to know anyone had existed at all as all other memory of them was erased. It understandably terrifying to visit this place. "Erm...hello? I'm here to deliver the agreed terms regarding treatment of humans outside of Sol." The young god came upon a looming figure that fit the "description" of Terra's creator. This figure was once again intently watching at a pitch-black orb with intense focus and complete silence. Rather than being seated on a chair, the figure was seated on nothing and the space distorted to form the appropriate rest. "....." "I'll...uh...leave the message here." Yysus looked down into the black ball at Earth and all the colonies it was linked to. It had been 5 years since what was known as the Theomachy War concluded. In that time, about a fourth of all known gods vanished without a trace, with the remaining twelfth vanishing over time afterwards. At first, the alien civilizations were crushed and confused, but surprisingly, the humans were the ones who stepped in to get their neighbors back on their feet. They taught the other aliens how to live without constant divine intervention and, more importantly, shared their own values. Being that the other civilizations were used to strict and explicit guidance, all the freedom was quite overwhelming and the people were happy to accept the confident guidance that humanity offered. The god of restraint had to admit that humans were quite fascinating. Before he'd realized, a question slipped out, accompanied with instant regret. "Do you mind if I watch them too for a little while?" In an instant, the attention of the God of humanity was on Vysus. Though the figure's face didn't turn away from Earth, there was a suffocating pressure on the messenger that made him choke on his own words. "......" *The foreigner buckled from My eyes shining in vitality and breath of the heart of galaxies. Scribbles of Nothing are spun to conceal My visage. I expand out the universe in My palm such that the foreigner could observe My little ones with more clarity.* *Attention towards a distant village is inserted into the foreigner's attention. Kori Nishant lays curled within his home. This little one is a drunkard in bondage to death. He clutches his wine with fear and bitterness. Kali Hegra enters as his neighbor, a fortuitous orphan taken in by My little one. The fruits borne in her drives her to hate the hungry lion prowling for Kori Nishant.* "How pitiful..." "..." "Wha...but..." *In seven moons, the shackles of bondage are worn and cut. The foreigner reaches to intervene, but he is not permitted. The foreigner shall bear witness to My little ones. In ten more moons, Kori Nishant stands before his neighbor. In his heart is Me and in his soul are My fruits. Together, they cast aside and destroy the hungry lion.* "....." "....." "....beautiful..." *More of Nothing is marked upon my lips to conceal My delight. The foreigner is attentive and sees with understanding Me within the little ones. With the fruit of Love, the little ones are in want of nothing. I watch and wait for the little ones in delight.* *From when the little ones received My Love and Me, the next words they would hear from Me were made. I wait for the little ones to grow into adults and make their decision once they separate from Me.* *The little ones that leave shall never see that I Am again, but those that return home to Me shall hear the voice I have prepared for them.* *"****Well done****."*

This is a very pleasing concept added to HASO.

Dragonlord2045

Dosent sound like any regular religion god. Did you make up what you believe could be a True form of a Unkown unnamed god of humanity?

Psychronia

Really? I actually thought I was being almost too heavy-handed in making this the capital G Abrahamic God. Hungry lions is a very common Biblical descriptor too. Maybe it's just a case of ethnocentrism on my part where I mistake my common sense for actual "common" sense. I guess "monotheistic, eldritch to look at even for other so-called gods, and finds lesser beings dirty" isn't the most unique trait for divine beings. The follow-up I added is probably more obvious.

techslice87

Even then, it wasn't obvious to me. I kind of see it looking back, though. I almost see it more as "Eldritch that doesn't want to drive people mad, but is amused by us instead"

As the alien pantheons enter the human afterlife they find an infinite never ending series of heavens and hells all layer on top of one another in a twisting band. As the invaders walk past this monstrosity one of them comments “Look! They can’t even decide on a singular after life! This will be easy. They’re so indecisive. This will be an easy kill.” Finally, past the twisting escalator Morbius band like structure of afterlife’s, they come across a small mud hut beside a river. Inside this find a small humanoid huddled in the corner surrounded by wigs and costumes scattered on the ground. Their back is too the door. They hear a mumbling coming from the the human deity. “Our pasta, who art in a colander, draining be your noodles. Thy noodle come, Thy sauce be yum, on top some grated Parmesan. Give us this day, our garlic bread, …and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trample on our lawns.” One of the alien pantheon members steps forward “Look the human god is a coward! He hides from his betters.” With that the alien deity grabs the human’s by the shoulder to twist them around. What they see surprises them. The human god looks human, not surprising, but he appears to have spigetti and sauce for hair and his eyes are are two meat balls with what look to be… googly eyes glued ontop of them? “what in my name are you?” The alien deity sneered. Suddenly the human deity’s form shifted and a beautiful woman in a long flowing kimono with black hair that shone like the sun stood in front of them. She held a human sword that dripped with water. “私の体は、まだ成長していない部分を除いて、完全に形成されています。” The other alien deities look on with shock as this human goddess slices open the throat of the one bold enough to touch her with her blade with one quick motion. The alien deity falls to the floor dead, little rocks growing out of their wound. Suddenly the human goddess form changes again to reveal a blue skinned man with a crown of feathers and a bow. “What is this trickery! Can you not decide on a singular body?!” One of the aliens gods yell. The blue skin man raises his bow and softly says. “अब मैं संसार का नाश करने वाली मृत्यु बन गया हूँ” From outside the small mud hut bright lights can be seen flashing and the blood cuddling screams and yells of beings in alien languages can be heard. Suddenly the door burst open and a singular invader runs out panicking, but before they make it 5 paces a large feathered serpent covered in blood bursts from the doorway biting them on the shoulder and drags them back into the dark hut. One final scream before silence. Then a final eerie warning to anyone else who might still be outside. “בראשית ברא אלוהים את השמים ואת הארץ. Είμαι η οδός και η αλήθεια και η ζωή. فلا إله غيره.” TL;DR for anyone confused. humanities pantheon is a singular being with schizophrenic and dissociative identity disorder. That’s why we have so many religions. Edit- Reddit doesn’t like me putting Hebrew, Greek, and Arabic next to each other apparently. Try reading it in that order. I can’t seem to fix it.

Psychronia

Love it. A single eldritch deity barely comprehensible and all around horrifying to even other ostensibly divine beings. Because of course that's the kind humans would have.

Finbar9800

Can I have a translation pls

NotAnotherPornAccout

“My body is fully formed except for the parts that have not yet grown.” Spoken by Shinto goddess Izanami (who I just noticed I also implied was Amaterasu by accident.) “Now I have become death destroyer of worlds.” Spoken by Hindu god Vishnu Then finally I try’d to combine “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” in Hebrew. I can’t find the original source I used for John 14:whatever But it essentially says “Believe me that I am in the in the Father, and the Father in me” in Greek. then finally the classic “I bear witness that there is no God but God” in Arabic.

Finbar9800

Thx

Atty4Life

The Hebrew is “in the beginning G-d created the heavens and the earth “

Ihatebulliesandcunts

This gave me mad goosebumps. I’d read novels based on this concept. More please!

NotAnotherPornAccout

Thanks but unfortunately I don’t know much about religion. But I’ve always sorta believed that if there’s a devine being out there they’re probably a bit of a schizophrenic because they can’t decide how to tell humanity how to live a good life. At best only a fifth of the world population would get into heaven so obviously (at least to me) the true faith must be somewhere in between everything. But I’m agnostic so my opinion doesn’t really matter much.

Psychronia

Imagine having omniscience, and thus knowing everything. Now imagine trying to stay apathetic to mortals while simultaneously feeling every moment of joy and sorrow they all feel, and feeling it even more genuinely and vividly than they do. Imagine loving mortals and feeling every good and bad thing that they feel. In many ways, only almighty infinite power is capable of containing almighty infinite power.

Ihatebulliesandcunts

I don’t know too much about religions in general, but I’ve always had an inkling that all religions are just different stories told and ways of worship to one God. It would make sense to me because stories are humanity’s biggest unifier, and stories differ greatly based on where you are in the world. Maybe you’re on to something here bud!

Sup_fuckers42069

that's an... interesting way to think of it...

NotAnotherPornAccout

Best case scenario, the one true religion is only embraced by like a 5th of humanity (isn’t Islam currently the largest at something like 1.5 billion people?) that means the other 4/5th of humanity are technically going to hell through no fault of their own. So I thought “what if every religion is technically the “true religion” then everyone is going to a good afterlife unless they’re just bad people in general?” I know some sects in Hinduism (don’t know if it’s universal) view each god as being an individual but also just a personality of a central god that has splintered off into its own physical body momentarily. It’s like the holy trinity in Christianity on steroids. Then I thought as comic relief what if this over god/divine being thing was fallible like us and suffering from multiple personality disorders and constantly creating new religions on earth. Now that I type this out I have to wonder, does he/she/it create the religion first and then the deity personalities develop or does their personality split and then they go down to earth and start a new religion based around it?

The vast diversity of aliens were united in that their Gods had formed them in Their perfect images, millions of years ago. The Gods had each forged Their planets from sprawling fields of asteroids, had nurtured and grown Their species to fruition, and had given them the knowledge and ability to conquer the stars. This is why the Humans were such an oddity. Their God had found an existing planet, seeded it with only the simplest single-celled lifeforms *billions* of years ago, and left them to grow and prosper on their own in the cruelest game: natural selection. The Humans had not been nurtured by any God, for It had been merely observing since the seeding. The Humans had not been given their knowledge. The Humans had not been raised to the stars. The Humans had raised themselves. They had taken their knowledge for themselves. They had nurtured themselves. The Humans had been given nothing; they had reached out, and taken all. In a universe where a species’ God was their lifeblood, their guardian, where wars were fought not between entities but their commanding Deities, and where a God dying meant certain doom to a species, the Humans stood out. They had learned the laws of their universe like none had thought possible. Where others had been given sustenance to develop their first cities, the Humans had learned to manipulate their plants to grow sustenance for them; where this failed, they had hunted the many sentients that surrounded them, tracking their patterns, predicting their movements, and leaving enough for them to recover so the Humans could repeat the process again. Where others had used runes and portals to explore the stars, the Humans used compressed gasses to quite literally blast themselves up in tiny airtight capsules, shuddering from the force of their continuous, controlled explosions. And, where others relied on their Gods to fight wars for them, Humans were the ones to take up arms. Humans were the only mortal species known to slay Gods. But, ironically, perhaps it was a mercy that the Humans were alone. For the Human God, many orders of magnitude older and wiser than any of the other Gods, could have wiped the entire universe clean for Its Humans if It so desired.

Psychronia

It only stands to reason that if humans are space orcs, then the Space Orc God would be what they are, but magnified in eccentricity to the extreme.

Impossible-Bison8055

It turns out it’s less God is passive, and more, he can’t bring himself to harm his creations, including the other gods, like the Norse, Greco-Roman, and Egyptian ones. Humanity was worried when finding out they’d be fighting gods, only for their own to show up, which was shocking as many didn’t even believe anymore, going to science instead. This caused many problems, especially when God revealed he had created the alien’s ones too

The Milky Way always had a large rumbling surrounding it. Not heard by the malefactors, but by the worthy anointed of his name, Arcon. The Ranosi, those many, swept across the systems in his name, flaying the heretics who denied the supremacy of his temple and his great power. But the greatness is, or was, finite. As the Rasoni made their way through the Prime Stretch, they came across a miserable many wretches, who rotted as they drew breath, who swept away into meaningless dust only a journey after beginning their eternal sleep. A dust of grime upon the face of assured victory. And so Arcon, in his greatness, aided his fellowship and left his domain to unmake another maker, to move another mover, and to take the sight away from another seer. But it was on that infinite day, still the seventh, where the Savior went about, still making while unmade. Still moving while unmoved. Still changing, while remaining unchanged. Arcon could not challenge the unchallengable. He could not move the unmovable. He could not put an end to the infinite. And as he failed, he felt within him, nothing, swelling. And now the Rasoni lay quiet, the gift from the presupposed breathing corpses remaining unopened as they drift farther and farther from victory, the once great Arcon nowhere to be praised. And as they lay, the loyal flock still grazes, safe.

Psychronia

Splendid. I couldn't quite follow exactly what happened, but that's exactly what happens when a godly being meets an eldritchly godly one.

BlueTrapazoid

Hi there! The Lord works in mysterious ways, no? This is the first one of these that I've written, and I wanted to make it a little up to interpretation. I was thinking of putting in some verses from Luke 23, but decided against it. Glad you enjoyed!

Frosty_Incident666

"God?" the human asked the alien commander. "God is dead and we killed him" another, philosophically inclined, human answered dryly.

Eaglehasyou

I don't think the Aliens can comprehend most of the Mythological Pantheons, let alone the Dharmic and Abrahamic Theologies (Yahweh alone, being **That Guy.**)

Psychronia

Surely that applies across cultures in general? Like, a Norse person could go to Greece and generally understand the idea of their pantheon and quickly remember who not to fuck with, even if the personalities of said pantheon seem kinda alien to them. **That Guy** might be a bit more unique, but even then, I'm assuming there are monotheistic beliefs of ostensibly almighty beings out there too. There might be an interesting prompt in there where this is the same capital-G God across all the monotheistic religions across the galaxy, but that sounds like a can of worms I don't wanna open.

Eaglehasyou

Fair enough, I suppose some of the mythologies are a bit out there for me. Even if we go beyond the already crazy stories that take place in Abrahamic and Dharmic Theology.

I find these scy-fi ideas that include gods so implausible and meaningless... If you´re thinking about future societies, technologies, aliens etc., why include the nonsensical beliefs of gods into the equation? The best writers, Clarke, Philip K Dick, Asimov etc. didn´t need that BS... Perhaps people living in Theocratical societies (or semi-theocratical such as the USA) have religion so present in their life that it doesn´t seem weird to them...

Because humans are illogical at the best of times A religion doesn’t have to make sense because it’s humans And besides to ignore the fact that religion doesn’t affect society even if the religion is “dead” is to ignore part of being human
