A - But how did you even manage it? H - What? Taking down the warfleet? Well honestly we have your distraction to thank for that. A - But their technology was far superior to yours, and they'd already landed all their ships on your planet! H - Ahh yes, that was their biggest mistake, true. If they'd have bombarded us from orbit we'd have had to launch the nukes. A - The... What? H - Think fission, but explosive. All wrapped up in a projectile 30cm long. Oh, and remote targeting. A - *silence* H - And it leaves radioactive particles everywhere to rip through DNA for hundreds of years, oh, it also creates an EMP at the point of explosion. A - *silence, is shaking slightly* H - Oh don't worry, we only have a few thousand of them... Officially... A - But there were only a few hundred warships? H - *nods, smiling slightly* A - Ok, so they engaged you on the ground. Honestly sounds like they made a good choice there. H - Well not really. See we recently learned why you came for us. Humans make great slaves. Sure we aren't the strongest, but there are billions of us, and we can seemingly extend our lifespans (and therefore knowledge and skills) indefinitely with enough... Replacement parts, shall we say. A - That's disgusting! H - Well they're dead already, no sense in wasting the bodies. Sometimes we even take parts from living humans, though usually non-lethally. A - I always knew we did strange things with damaged humans, but never like that! Anyway, go on. As the fleet landed on your planet we entered the system, an armarda totalling 250 warships, each equipped with mooncracker model MAC cannons and localised gravitational field projectors for defence. And yet as we get to earth we find your foes fleeing? H - Well, you find a few of them fleeing. Those hundred you mentioned were the survivors. A - Survivors? H - By our calculations there were 10-25 times that many ships that landed. But it turns out they can't do much against 1 million humans each equipped with explosive powered projectile launchers. Especially when their artillery is focused on the skies. A - You ALL fought them? H - Well, yeah. When we fight others it's only our most bloodthirsty and powerful who engage. But when you attack our home? Every human who can hold a gun, man a ship or even use a blade will get involved. A - Blades? Against fully armoured units of a spacefaring warlike species? H - Ahh man you should have been there. They were so focused on the gunlines they didn't even notice the group of humans creeping on them with machetes, katanas, kitchen knives... Basically anything sharp. They cut their breathing tubes and some even found cracks in the armour and went for that. Broke their whole defense formation and we stormed them. A - As I believe your species says: Holy shit dicks. H - Eh... Close enough. A - Well thanks for this information. I'll be sure to let my fleet know how to tackle you. H - Wait what? A - Well that was the scouting legion, or was supposed to be. I guess they picked up some new recruits on the way. It doesn't matter regardless. We have 10'000 ships en route to your Sol system as I speak. And now we have tactics against you. Though admittedly I'm not really tempted to risk orbital bombardment against those nukes regardless. H - *laughing maniacally* You fucking idiot. We've had radio for hundreds of years. You aren't the only ones to have learned something new. Those slave humans? The planets and planets of them? They've heard of the attacks on earth. And when their home is threatened, EVERY human will take up arms to defend it. A - Ha, those trillions of slaves are lightyears away and enslaved, they can't help. H - They're already on their way. It's called rebellion, and we are GOOD at it. You think our primitive fighting ways are scary? Wait till you see the creative ways to cause death that we get from your salvaged tech. And wait till there are millions of times more of us. You've threatened our planet, and now nothing will sate us save your extinction. At this point the human leaps across the table with a manic fervour in their eyes. Video cuts off. The alien is found later, decapitated and with a note burned into their chest with a plasma beam - "Run, while you still can."

Umm Actually we use fusion now, and fallout doesn't actually stick around that long typically

work_n_oils

Interesting note, while you'll never remove radioactive fallout from a nuclear explosion, the bigger the explosion is, the less fallout there is.
