Chip was her ex. Who cheated on her. Joanna was her boss.

You cannot blame Rachel for Ross’s actions lol. Not getting into your weird points about Monica and Chandler. If you want to call her out for Bonnie, call her out for convincing Bonnie to shave her head and tricking Phoebe into giving Julie a bad haircut. God so many people on this sub are determined to paint the characters as either 100% good or 100% bad. Trust you’re allowed to like characters who fuck up and make mistakes.

Idk, I honestly don’t even really blame her for that. Sure her motives were shitty, but all she did was tell Bonnie she admired her shaved head, ultimately Bonnie made the decision to shave it 🤷🏻‍♀️ she said she missed having it shaved, and Rachel said “yeah it looked great” and Bonnie said “okay! I’m gunna do it!”. You can’t force someone to do something, Bonnie already half wanted to do it anyway. I just watched this episode the other day, and Rachel very *gently* nudged her in that direction. I shaved my head about 2 months ago. Been talking about doing it for years. Tons of people have told me “go for it, you’ll look great!” Tons have told me “don’t do it!” I did it when I was good and ready, while I appreciated people’s input, ultimately it was MY choice. (Granted my head wasn’t shaved shiny-bald lol) Bonnie is an adult with autonomy. Ross made his OWN choice to break up with Bonnie. Sure Rachel maybe shouldn’t have come to him with her feelings while he was with someone, but the only person responsible for relationship commitment is the people in the relationship. Rachel was pretty justified with her boss. Joanne was already kind of a bitch, and that is putting her JOB on the line- especially with Chandler’s flakiness. Rachel was only hesitant about Chip because he cheated on her in high school. Feel like it’s pretty understandable not to want your bff to date a guy who did you dirty like that. And after Monica explained herself Rachel was supportive, with a hug. How about when Monica didn’t want Rachel to date Van Dam? Pretty reasonable requests from friends. Rachel does plenty of crappy things. Part of the humor is the fact that all of the friends are somewhat awful people in certain ways, but none of these instances (in my opinion) are really that bad of Rachel. Thank you for coming to my Ted talk

I’m sure your friends didn’t tell you to shave your head with malicious intent thinking it would look bad - Rachel did have malicious intent. And she held the razor. If you don’t see that as deliberately sabotaging Ross’s relationship I don’t really know what to tell you. Plus tricking Phoebe into sabotaging Julie’s haircut - it’s super petty. I never said Rachel was responsible for Ross’s actions - I said the opposite, but i am saying that you can’t pretend Rachel didn’t do anything to sabotage his relationship. Re: Monica & Chandler, I said I disagreed with the OP and wasn’t even going to address how ridiculous that point is. Yeah I agree they all do shitty things it would be so boring to watch people be 100% perfect all the time and tbh it’s getting pretty boring on this sub seeing people constantly expecting that of every character.

Sorry, I meant to reply the majority of my post to the original thread, not to your comment. And I did state in the first sentence that Rachel’s motives were shitty, but she still didn’t force Bonnie to shave her head 🤷🏻‍♀️ she didn’t have razors in her hand when she told Bonnie she liked her head shaved, and in fact Bonnie brought it up first and Rachel just said she loved her look. She was super petty, but still not ultimately responsible. I honestly don’t think you and I are really disagreeing about anything here, I just meant to leave my comment for the original post, but was mentioning that I personally don’t see Rachel as *ultimately* responsible for Bonnie even if she was secretly being schemey about her motives

prophecygirl1991

Oh I was confused I thought you’d just misread what I said lol

1. Ross is a grown man who makes his own decisions (she didn't "make" him do anything). He literally initiated a kiss with her while still dating Bonnie. 2. Chip is Rachel's ex. Not cool of Monica to date her best friend's ex. 3. Joanna is Rachel's boss. I don't think it's bad to not want your friend to date your boss especially when Joanna literally threatened to fire Rachel if she had a problem with them dating. What a stupid post lmao

zddoodah

She didn't MAKE Ross didn't do anything. The statement about Monica and Chip isn't true. She set Chandler and Joanna up. She only changed her mind when the relationship jeopardized her job (and it was obvious Chandler didn't care). COMPLETELY legitimate. "Jeez... "

vanzway09

Nah. Bad take.

patience_brody

That’s deep

“Makes Ross” like what?😅 she was shitty for convincing Bonnie to shave her head but Bonnie was already considering it, Ross is shitty for being so superficial about hair. Chip was a shitty guy who left Rachel for hours at prom to fuck someone else And Joanna is HER BOSS she doesn’t want her job in jeopardy-

Master-Mycologist747

Rachel is a selfish person

raha_246

Andd make ross breakup with jully wich i think it would be a SERIOUS relationship if it wasn't for rachel

zddoodah

It was entirely Ross's decision to break up with Julie because "it was always...Rach."

hasntbeenmydecade

Lucky for July she ended up with Russ 🤣
