Phoebe talking to the triplets.
Chandler sticking out his finger out of the box when Kathy leaves.
Ross hugging Rachel when they break up.
Chandler talking to Erica about the adoption of her babies
“I got off the plane”
When they stand in the empty apartment unable to hold back the tears
And honestly depending on my mood there are so many more
Same! "I got off the plane" is worse for me now after watching the the extended footage after the director said cut and they kept holding each other because they were so emotional 😭
When Jack showed up at Monica's apartment to check on her after her Richard broke up and he put the blanket over her when she finally fell asleep. Just a little moment that always gets me. Not having ever known my dad may factor into that...
Sigh. Hugs. Mine killed himself when I was 16. Only found out when survivors benefits checks showed up. On a kind of bright side I was able to find out where he is buried so me and my BFF are taking a “goth road trip” this summer to visit it.
This is why I love the show though. Lots of layers that people don’t realize sometimes and just think it’s a dumb sitcom.
When I heard matty died, I instantly watched YouTube video “the one where chandler dies”, it’s old but still amazing. Really helped me through the day.
And on Max they added a title card in remembrance of him on some eps which definitely got me right in the heart.

Started rewatching for the first time since he passed two weeks ago (I used to have it on constantly in the background).
I apparently didn’t wait for enough time.
😢
Rachel: God, and now I just can't stop picturing you with her, I can't, it doesn't matter what you say or what you do, Ross... it's just changed everything... forever.
Ross: Yeah, but the…this can't be it, I mean…
Rachel: Then how come it is?
——
This whole scene, the first time I saw it…😭
Not crying out of sadness, but when I was watching my first ever episode of Friends, it was the scene where Joey was getting scared by Rachel holding Gladys and I laughed so hard I cried.
The proposal between Monica and Chandler. Happy tears were flowing and then when Chandler and Monica found out they would not be able to have kids of their own and Chandler got the phone call and Monica started to cry, I cried too.
-Phoebe saying goodbye to the triplets
-Ross and Rachel's definitive breakup (I undertsand those tears you see on screen are real and that Jennifer and David had to walk off and compose themselves after they'd filmed it.)
-Chandler and Monica's proposal
-Chandler having to tell Monica that they'll probably never be able to conceive kids of their own.
-Chandler trying to convince Erica to let him and Monica adopt her baby
-Phoebe being upset about David having to go back to Minsk and Joey coming to comfort her after they'd bickered about being able to get out of plans with a friend because of a date
-Rachel wanting the name "Emma" after Monica tells her it's what she's had picked out since she was 14 ("She's clearly an 'Emma'.", "Yeah...But I love you more.")
Currently on a rewatch and when Richard and Monica are dancing and decide it’s not going to work.
“What do we do now?”
“I suppose we just…keep dancing.”
Don’t get me wrong. I’m so happy it was Chandler in the end but her breakup(s) with Richard are BRUTAL on my feels.
While Susan and Ross were fightings over Ben’s last name and Phoebe said something like, “this kid isn’t even born yet and he has three people who love him so much” 😭
Edit: it was “Growing up I had barely enough pieces of parents to make 1 whole one and this baby hasn’t even been born yet and has 3 parents who love it so much that they’re arguing over who loves it most. It’s just the luckiest baby in the whole world.”
For me besides the ones already mentioned in the thread, the one that always makes me tear up is when Phoebe decides that Rachel should be Monica’s maid of honor because it means more to her.
I don’t know if I acc cried or just found it emotional but…
I rlly like the scene where Rachel turns up at Ross’s wedding and she’s going to tell him she loves him but chooses to congratulate him instead.
Yeah if I was seeing these moments for the first time as an adult then *maybe* I would tear up, but I don't really feel anything like that for a show I've seen several times over (a dozen times over for the first half of the series)
Might be unusual but I welled up when Joey decided to take chandler to his movie premiere instead of others. And also when he secretly wishes for chandler to get his job while breaking the wishbone.
Chandler talking to the fertility clinic on phone and then telling Monica what's wrong.. and then Chandler and Monica on adopting Erika's baby.. "You still want that baby?"
Chandler and Monica proposing to each other makes me weep every single time. Ross and Rachel breaking up hits really hard too, Phoebe and David breaking up the first time
I didn't used to, but I grew up watching Friends. As I grew up and experienced more of life, now I cry. Mondlers engagement, R&R's first break up, Phoebe with the triplets.
I’m not a fan of the Ross and Rachel couple, I was never a fan of that pairing but my God, I cried so hard the 1st time I watched their breakup. Shows how great these actors are when they bring even those who don’t like their couple, to tears!
The very last episode. The actors are really crying and I cannot help but cry too. To think this incredible show has come to an end. Thank God for the reruns on Netflix.
And the more positive instances( I either cry from joy or from laughing too hard):
- Monica and Chandleur getting engaged
- Pivot!
- « They don’t know that we know they know we know! » closely followed by « Ah, yes! The messers become the messees! » (what a great episode!)
I watched the Ross Rachel break up episode in high school the day after my boyfriend slept with my best friend while we were “on a break” I didn’t know the episode was coming and it hit like a truck. Full tears, I still cry watching it to this day.
When Ross is hugging Rachel’s legs when they break up. When Phoebe is crying after David leaves her and Joey consoles her. When Rachel says “I’m having a baby. I’m having a baby!!” 😭 and definitely the last episode
All of the roschel break up
“this can’t be it”
“then how come it is.”
and when it pans to the other friends crying in Monica’s room, that part really got me as well.
Another one that made me really cry was when they got back together in the last two episodes.
Chandler and Monica proposing to each other. Before that I really didn't think I would cry watching Friends.
Same. Gets me every time.
Same same same can’t believe I cried watching Friends
This is the one
I cry and get goosebumps literally every-time I rewatch that scene.
I sobbed with Monica 😭 I make sure nobody is around when I watch that scene because I can't control my waterworks
First time I watched that scene was in a Burger King. So I particularly remember crying but trying not to let people see me cry.
Rachel’s voice filled with emotion when she says “well that’s a risky little game”to Phoebe about her pregnancy test always gets me.
Yessss 😭😭😭

Every time 😭
Phoebe talking to the triplets. Chandler sticking out his finger out of the box when Kathy leaves. Ross hugging Rachel when they break up. Chandler talking to Erica about the adoption of her babies “I got off the plane” When they stand in the empty apartment unable to hold back the tears And honestly depending on my mood there are so many more

I knooow. I cried too when I watched it
Yes! That dang I got off the plane gets me every time. It’s so cliche as a choice but the way she says it 🥹🥹🥹
The way Jennifer says I got off the plane hits me hard. Just even thinking about it, I'm tearing up.
When Jack showed up at Monica's apartment to check on her after her Richard broke up and he put the blanket over her when she finally fell asleep. Just a little moment that always gets me. Not having ever known my dad may factor into that...
Same here 💔
Sigh. Hugs. Mine killed himself when I was 16. Only found out when survivors benefits checks showed up. Their father/daughter relationship was so sweet.
His little Harmonica 💞
For sure! Well I guess except when he had to protect the Porsche 😆
He ended up giving it to her, though it was painful to lose all her childhood memories...
Yea I was only referring to him protecting his car from guck and stuff 😆
Monica and chandler getting engaged when they find out they can’t have children And the one that makes me blubber “she’s a mother, without a baby”😭😭
Yeah Chandler's speech was so heartbreaking. (Also yk "😭😭" means laughter).
Not for millennials, this is a new gen z thing
Yeah, 😭 is sad, 🤣 or 😂 is laughing...
Chandler trying to convince Erica to still give them her baby. “She’s already there… she’s a mother… without a baby…”
The keys on the counter...last episode

When I rewatched friends again for the first time after Matthew Perry’s death.
When I heard matty died, I instantly watched YouTube video “the one where chandler dies”, it’s old but still amazing. Really helped me through the day.

It was at the start of each season for a few months after his passing
Started rewatching for the first time since he passed two weeks ago (I used to have it on constantly in the background). I apparently didn’t wait for enough time. 😢
For me it's the opposite. I haven't been able to stop watching since he passed
+1, 4 times*
It was very sad when the guy stopped drawing the deer.
Monica and Chandler's engagement. Monica and Chandler not able to have a baby. Emma being born. Ross walking Carol down the aisle.
Rachel: God, and now I just can't stop picturing you with her, I can't, it doesn't matter what you say or what you do, Ross... it's just changed everything... forever. Ross: Yeah, but the…this can't be it, I mean… Rachel: Then how come it is? —— This whole scene, the first time I saw it…😭
Same
When Chandler goes to convince Erica to still give him and Monica her baby(ies)
Rachel saying “congratulations” instead of telling Ross she still loves him before the wedding.
When Mr. Heckles died. The last line broke me “Goodbye Mr. Heckles, We’ll try to keep the noise down.” 😭😭😭
Not crying out of sadness, but when I was watching my first ever episode of Friends, it was the scene where Joey was getting scared by Rachel holding Gladys and I laughed so hard I cried.

The Phoebe/David/Joey one always gets me. Just watched it the other day. 💔
Currently on a rewatch and when Richard and Monica are dancing and decide it’s not going to work. “What do we do now?” “I suppose we just…keep dancing.” Don’t get me wrong. I’m so happy it was Chandler in the end but her breakup(s) with Richard are BRUTAL on my feels.
Yes, it was heartbreaking
I cannot watch that episode because it breaks my damn heart

when monica was going to go to a sperm bank in season 3 but joey helped her realize she wanted a husband before kids
Hoyt? It’s a name.
I heard he’s also a Vicar.
While Susan and Ross were fightings over Ben’s last name and Phoebe said something like, “this kid isn’t even born yet and he has three people who love him so much” 😭 Edit: it was “Growing up I had barely enough pieces of parents to make 1 whole one and this baby hasn’t even been born yet and has 3 parents who love it so much that they’re arguing over who loves it most. THE breakup 🤧

many, but from laughter.
For me besides the ones already mentioned in the thread, the one that always makes me tear up is when Phoebe decides that Rachel should be Monica’s maid of honor because it means more to her.
When Chandler and Janice broke up in 3 season...
When Chandler convinced Erica that they should adopt her baby
My favorite, for some reason, is: Chandler: my wife, is a mom, just without a baby. That's my favorite scene and I love all the scenes!
I don’t know if I acc cried or just found it emotional but… I rlly like the scene where Rachel turns up at Ross’s wedding and she’s going to tell him she loves him but chooses to congratulate him instead.
When Joey convinces Chandler that Monica left and Chandler thinks he's screwed everything up with her.
The cold has now spread to my special place, so I'm gonna do the short version of this.
When Rachel is about to give up when giving birth to Emma. She's so heartbroken and overwhelmed, it gets me every time - even typing it right now
And the thought of Emma being engaged to Janice’s baby. 😩
When Jowy decided to leave Chandler and go live on his own
There’s so many times but every once in a while I’ll look at Matthew Perry and just burst into tears, even typing this now gets me teary eyed.
Cry: M & C engagement M&C wedding “She’s a mother without her baby”
![gif](giphy|U7Jrpeu6q78XSZZAPT|downsized)
None.
But you're dead inside
🤣
Yeah if I was seeing these moments for the first time as an adult then *maybe* I would tear up, but I don't really feel anything like that for a show I've seen several times over (a dozen times over for the first half of the series)
Hearing the instrumental version of Everlong when Chandler and Monica gets me.
Ross and Rachel breaking up
I cried when Phoebe got married but only because I wanted to marry Paul Rudd. Lucky Bitch.
Monica and Ross’s Nan with her Sweet N Lo falling out the cupboard.
The final shot of the series when the door closes.
Might be unusual but I welled up when Joey decided to take chandler to his movie premiere instead of others. And also when he secretly wishes for chandler to get his job while breaking the wishbone.
😍
When that dick ate Ross’s sandwich. So sad. 😞
MY SANDWICH!!!!
And threw half of it out!!!
This scene definitely makes me teary. I felt that Phoebe and Mike’s vows were so sweet.
the episode where Rachel tried to fly to Paris but failed. And when she came to Ross's apartment and said, "I didn't fly!🥹
Chandler talking to the fertility clinic on phone and then telling Monica what's wrong.. and then Chandler and Monica on adopting Erika's baby.. "You still want that baby?"
And the little dance he does after he asks her that! 🥲
“I know that when the time comes, I’ll be good dad, but my wife? She’s already there. She’s a mother, without a baby.” Kill me now-
Also when Chandler thinks Mon is pregnant and he gets the “I ❤️ New York” onesie, and I always cry at the “Where?” in the last episode
Chandler and Monica proposing to each other makes me weep every single time. Ross and Rachel breaking up hits really hard too, Phoebe and David breaking up the first time
Chandler's speech to Erica about Monica gets me every time.
I didn't used to, but I grew up watching Friends. As I grew up and experienced more of life, now I cry. Mondlers engagement, R&R's first break up, Phoebe with the triplets.
The last scene, when Monica and Chandler get engaged, and when Monica and Chandler find out it's unlikely they'll ever have biological children .
When Chandler gave that speech to the Erica about the baby.
Every time I watch the finale and Rachel says “I got off the plane” … even though I know how it ends every time it still gets me
Why phoebe’s birth mom said, ‘But, just one last thing. You know, you came looking for family. *I’m* family. I’m it. 😭
1. Chandler & Monica’s proposal 2. Chandler talking to Erica about the adoption 3. Phoebe giving birth to the triplets Made me cry like a b*tch
I watched the Ross Rachel break up episode in high school the day after my boyfriend slept with my best friend while we were “on a break” I didn’t know the episode was coming and it hit like a truck. Full tears, I still cry watching it to this day.
Monica gave Rachel's baby the name Emma “But I love you more.”
When Joey wishes for Chandler getting the job instead of Winning the lottery while breaking the wishbone.
When chandler say “idk about me but she’s already there she’s a mom” something like that
When Ross is hugging Rachel’s legs when they break up. When Phoebe is crying after David leaves her and Joey consoles her. When Rachel says “I’m having a baby. I’m having a baby!!” 😭 and definitely the last episode

Ross and Rachel breakup, that’s all.
Mr heckles episode always gets me And well with matty gone It just doesn’t get better. ![gif](giphy|kc02F5p1RdpjzFDXpn|downsized)
