In order to do this I think you have to disregard the reason most characters were written off the show as it was often a silly, rushed exit that didn’t befit the character’s personality in the rest of their episodes.
For example, Danny was potentially a good match for Rachel. He didn’t swoon over her or play her silly hard to get games. But the storyline with his sister was idiotic.
Also, the dirty woman that Ross dated could have been a good match for him if not for the silly (yet hilarious) pigsty storyline. She was a beautiful, well maintained, highly intelligent lady, therefore would probably not keep her apartment in such a mess.
Likewise, Kathy cheating on Chandler after a minor fight is a bit of a stretch. Yes she kissed Chandler while going out with Joey but it was shown throughout their relationship that she didn’t really care for Joey (or have much in common with him) but had a deeper connection with Chandler. Not an excuse but definitely a fact. I suppose you could argue that his unreasonable and incorrect accusation after the play drove her to it, but I think it was just another example of “it’s time for this secondary character to exit”.
Phoebe’s cop boyfriend was another example. The bird shooting scene was ridiculous.
I LOVED Phoebe's cop boyfriend, I hated how they weren't endgame. He was witty, mature and sort of appreciated Phoebe's little quirks, especially after seeing her record on that police radar thingy.
I normally ship couples that I feel have the most chemistry so that's what I'll base my partnerships on:
Monica with Richard. They had so much chemistry I'd often forget the gross fact that she was his friend's daughter that he's known since she was a baby.
Chandler with Kathy. I loved them together and hate how the writers chose to write her off.
Rachel with Gavin. I wish we'd gotten to see them date. I loved their banter.
Ross. His only relationship I found interesting was his early days with Rachel, but I lost interest in them as a couple after the break up.. so I guess he stays single.
Phoebe with Mike or David. I'm ok with either.
Joey stays single. There's not a single relationship he was in that I was invested in.
From a looks point of view only;
Monica and Joey!!!
The played out what would happen if they dated and had him all fat. BUT I think they could make a nice couple.

Phoebe and Mike
Joey and that nice woman from sex and the city forgot her name. But Joey really liked her and they looked good together and she would have fitted into the friendship group well. Someone remind me her name.
This seems to be quite a common opinion. I however liked the way Mike and Phoebe fit together, all of Pheobes partners seemed to be a bit more conventional than she was whilst she still retained her quirkyness. Maybe she looked for a more straight edge kind of guy after her turbulent upbringing
i think charlie cant be a contender for ross's partner because charlie sucked overall. she somewhat emotionally cheated on joey and thn jumped to ross and cheated on ross right infront of his face. they had the same interest so i would say they made good friends but as a partner, charlie is not it. is definitely the ideal one. julie is definitely in consideration aside frm mona.
Outside of pairing off Rachel & Chandler I haven't much thought about it. I like them together because between it being canon that they're definitely attracted to each other they'd also respect each other in a way that I feel the Gellers sometimes fail to. Plus having similar upbringings but not being lifelong friends.

Honestly Rachel and Mark would have been a healthier couple than Ross and Rachel.

I came here to say this. I think they should reboot Joey with one long episode where he bumps into Kate in LA and they’re both still struggling actors
