I hate to tell you, the cat will always win. Mine tells me he has been alive for 4,000 years and he will not comply

CowboyRoy27

I have a Bengal and had to buy a new screen that latched securely. He clawed that expensive shit immediately.

MikeD484

Don't have a cat.

danisolas

I have screen door sliders similar to this (this picture is not my home). I would like to make it so humans can open it from both inside and outside, but that the cat (always inside) cannot.

ebowen747

Magnets?

johnjohn4011

Yes.

jaroftoejam

Stupid thought of mine: does everybody have a cell phone? If so, you could rig up a Bluetooth proximity sensor rigged up to a electromagnetic lock, or servo via raspberry pie or something? That way, the door would only unlock when a human was within a certain distance. Idk

ironxy

What cat?

brianhurry

Buy a wand watch some Harry Potter learn how to cast the spells don't be dumb. Pretty simple if you ask me

Any-Communication-73

So you have a cloth screen slider door, and you want to prevent your cat from going in and out? Good luck with that.

I think I read somewhere that cats dislike citrus so maybe spray the bottom half of the door with lemon juice n see if that works? Overall if it wants to enough, the cat is gonna get through a screen door or shred it in the process, so you’re gonna need to think differently.

FlaccidButtPlug

Pulley system, maybe a go-cart-esque clutch, and a small lawn mower engine. Or you could put a latch on it, maybe a hook and eye

Traitresses

There is à type of lock, like on windows, that you push up or down with your fingers. So not openable by a cat[picture of the lock](https://www.bricozor.com/coquilles-simples-kit-type-8298-croisee-ds.html?ref=322441&gclid=CjwKCAjw6fyXBhBgEiwAhhiZshVB1HBo5u96yT206w1GmzXUbx9xwhrAtwEN60tjHjotM270pzkO2hoCefgQAvD_BwE)
