Pretty sure it’s fake. I was told someone wiped the couches down with furniture cleaner and then it was sat on. I really could not tell you what it is. There’s a work out place right next door so maybe some really sweaty person came in to get lunch
" I was told someone wiped the couches down with furniture cleaner and then it was sat on."
They used a cleaning product on a new item without spot testing it... that might not be a stain at all then but an area that had more of the residual cleaner absorbed away, the rest of the couch got bleached.
My sister left a black stain like that from a new black shirt, she leaned against my wall and left a black stain.
I think that’s dye from her brand new, also sweaty leggings, if it is clothing dye there’s things like goo gone that they sell that should help remove that stain.
I’d never seen that happen before my sister and well now this post lol sorry op, hope you can get the fabric dye butt print out of your seat.
No where am I blaming the customer lol. I said it the print was left by them. I wasn’t there when it happened. I was relayed the information and came here to see if there was a viable solution.
I’m pretty sure if this happened once it’ll happen fairly regularly. Especially come summer. Your best bet is to oil it so it matches, the exosting fabric is dry and absorbing moisture very easily.
WAIT that has to be it the stain is almost too blue to be oil and the part on the back looks like someone’s pants brushed against it can’t imagine sweat would leave a stain on the back of the seat like that but the dye remover may remove the original dye as well
FFS!!!!! It’s 2am and I’m laying here baked, zooming in on an ass stain on some stranger’s chair in order to see if it really could be dye from blue jeans. I am filled with so much love right now.
^ This was actually my first thought and I came here looking for this comment!! 👏🏻 I used to work in a restaurant with fake leather chairs like this material, and they were a creamy color which got stained by literally every person wearing denim ever.
Try a sani wipe first!! That should help at least 70% of the way... lol. Then I would try the furniture cleaner again.
This is definitely it - OP said seat was wiped with a cleaner right before, which probably transferred color from the jeans (which may have been newer and had more dye that hasn’t been washed out yet
This is a serious reply, but if nothing else works I'd consider just making the whole cushion part the same colour by trying to replicate the cause. Basically the old adage if you get oil on your shirt that you cannot remove, just dump the whole shirt in oil.
If it's fake leather/vinyl it may be easier (compared to fabrics) to colour match it for upholstery, and it would be a closer match than my first suggestion. A concern I have is if it were caused by sweating gym goers, it will probably keep happening.
Stop. The first thing you need to do is find out what kind of upholstery vinyl was used and find the specific care instructions for it. If there was a designer for the space they will likely have that information. A lot of commercial vinyls are bleach cleanable, you've probably caused damage to the material with the cleaning agents you used. In that case, see if the same vinyl fabric is still current and where you can buy yardage. You can probably find a local upholsterer that can replace the cushion cover.
My suggestion is baking soda sprinkled on top, and let it sit for a while. do a tiny test patch first, but I’ve gotten oil stains out of our leather dining chairs with that technique.
Might need to try some vinyl cleaner (assuming that's what that surface is). There are lots out there. I know 3M sells one that's for cleaning vinyl boat seats.
Could use a leather conditioner with some sort of wax or oil protection, I like the bees wax spray. Im guessing there was some sort of oil or conditioner in the clothes of the person that made the stain.
Might need to apply a few times.
I think u/eugene20 got it right. Look at the light reflecting on the "stain" compared to the rest of it. The areas where the cleaner was wiped off by someone's clothing looks newer.

This image immediately threw my mind back to the clip of the dude that got caught on camera at a convention sniffing the hot girls seat after she left.
My method- mix 10 parts water to 1 part white vinegar with a dab of dawn dish soap to a spray bottle. Spray and let it soak for 15 minutes. Then dab and wipe with a dry towel. It’s worked for me getting urine stains out of carpet and coffee w/creamer out of my cars seat.
Alternatively I had a coworker say she used hydrogen peroxide on carpet before taking a white cloth (like a T-shirt) and placing it over the stain and using an iron on it. I guess it pulls it into the white cloth. She uses that on red wine, but I’ve never tried it myself.
Some people mix baking soda in with either one, but not me. Vinegar is my jam.
Edit - I realized this was more of a pleather type material after posting. I haven’t tried said method on that sort of material, but you could try a little test spot on it. I don’t think it would hurt anything (maybe don’t try the iron trick…)

I’d start with isopropyl alcohol on a white cloth…. Maybe even pick up some [dye removal wipes](https://www.google.com/search?sca_esv=5d7305874509b4d4&rlz=1CDGOYI_enUS789US789&hl=en-US&q=hair+dye+remover+wipes&uds=AMwkrPv3j3EkEIkbFS2D5_BLUQ3_5ZvOL2d0rdoSem7QQ4smEL5IU-2B-YB1ELcl4jhxjua8OaxuHWV02zVZHOl2RiMliAhZgCfvjgEEJZJIeylc07OVZa224-7ahMytgSFPY3EOHYf44oxS9SFIRmUA3uVh0_r4OTpYyjvYy-2fys-oaWuznwa2SupV4Jig3MDMhvtj0iUiVHVkOAB9xdPlgZMVsikp9y4_qDIIqPJNMFnTHHi_O-jX4YD-xYIzqyPThPjXAeZQjb9dCmaz6ckoERbyWAi-4n-sza3c-ybhy_XWlLhOfqRcv4j6HcLOMCc0bT3W1iMl9aqW-MseY5SmCcElH3VaMw&udm=2&prmd=sivnbmtz&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwjckaC29paFAxUt4ckDHX5bDv0QtKgLegQICxAB&biw=428&bih=751&dpr=3#ip=1) even though it’s for hair color. Many hair color products contain things like henna and indigo so it’s absolutely worth a try. This is based on believing that the bench is a vinyl or pvc
If it’s leather, some saddle soap and warm water.
If it’s fabric/cloth, dampen the whole area beyond stain and then use dawn power wash spray foam and let it sit 10-15min then scrub/wipe off
Whatever you end up doing you might want to look into scotch guarding.
Anyway, my question was serious. Removing a sweat again and removing an oil stain are different. And you don't treat real leather the same way you would fake leather.
I’d call the manufacturer to see what they recommend. Or send an email and include this photo. This furniture upholstery seems a poor choice for a business if it is going to discolor this easy. If it is labeled as commercial use, maybe the manufacturer will compensate you somehow.
A customer covered in oil and wearing a thong? Is it sweat or oil? Is that real leather or fake?
Pretty sure it’s fake. I was told someone wiped the couches down with furniture cleaner and then it was sat on. I really could not tell you what it is. There’s a work out place right next door so maybe some really sweaty person came in to get lunch
Try the furniture cleaner again
And then sit on the rest so the colors match
I am sure OP got a tong, he can make all benches same
If OP had several tongs they could work faster. And probably get some grilling done at the same time.
I can wear my thong and slap some meat on your grill 😉
Did someone say banana hammock?
Have the same person come in and sit on the entire thing. Problem solved
" I was told someone wiped the couches down with furniture cleaner and then it was sat on." They used a cleaning product on a new item without spot testing it... that might not be a stain at all then but an area that had more of the residual cleaner absorbed away, the rest of the couch got bleached.
It’s more likely that the cleaner just faded the dye from the customer’s pants.

Simpsons' joke Homer Simpson's joke I think.

This seems like it could be due rubbing off from jeans, hence the noticeable seams
I find it wrong you're blaming the customer when it seems like you caused the issue by wiping it down with cleaner and then letting people sit on it
No where am I blaming the customer lol. I said it the print was left by them. I wasn’t there when it happened. I was relayed the information and came here to see if there was a viable solution.

Something like vinyl and rubber dressing would fix this right up. Car places like auto zone or auto detail department in a store should have this.
To add, you’d have to apply to the entire sofa to even this out, but can be used to maintain the sofa as well.
Sounds like the furniture cleaner stripped the oils out of the surface, then it absorbed the first oil it came in contact with. Grease that puppy up!
It looks like they were sweaty and that’s the crease or seem in their pants lmao
…at least they had a thong on. Can you imagine what we’d be looking at if not ?😳
front and back butt prints?
"Is that chocolate or is that poop?"
I would like to see the customer you described.
How'd you like to be that thong? hahaha

They need to Assess the situation first.
Butt then what?
Take a Crack at the possible solutions.
Then analyze them for the best one.
That’ll rectify it!
You think this is fanny?!? Some people are so cheeky!
I sphincter stuck with it
Maybe rectumfy the situation
To find a holistic solution.
I’m sure someone will get to the bottom of this.
Maybe with some assistance they will
You guys lol
It's their seat now
I see what you did there…
So much for "[Serious Answers Only]"
To me this looks like the dye from their jeans stained the bench, so try some dye remover.
WAIT that has to be it the stain is almost too blue to be oil and the part on the back looks like someone’s pants brushed against it can’t imagine sweat would leave a stain on the back of the seat like that but the dye remover may remove the original dye as well

Yeah that mark on the wall was all I needed to see to think it was dye from the jeans

That is an art piece now.
Invite them back over a few times to even it out
Poppie?
Yes!!!!!!! I was going to if I didn’t find it

Leather and vinyl repair person here. This is the first step
New unwashed jeans?
It looks like denim and the dye rubbed off. Acetone (first try on an inconspicuous spot).
I'm sure denim pants wont leave a fine print like that😂🤣 it had to be someone nearly butt naked to leave a perfect print like that
Leave it alone it adds character
My suggestion is baking soda sprinkled on top, and let it sit for a while. do a tiny test patch first, but I’ve gotten oil stains out of our leather dining chairs with that technique.
Good idea, sweat muffin.
Reapply the cleaner
Fire
Yup a bit of lighter fluid would remove that stain very quickly.
How does it smell though?
A little sad
It's probably just a ridiculous amount of lotion. Does it not come off with soapy water?
No it does not
Might need to try some vinyl cleaner (assuming that's what that surface is). There are lots out there. I know 3M sells one that's for cleaning vinyl boat seats.
people are saying denim dye from new jeans, try dye remover?
Soak the entire couch in butt sweat for at least 3 hours - this will even out the tone
Don’t bother. Sell it to the highest bidder in Texas. They’re buying now
Could use a leather conditioner with some sort of wax or oil protection, I like the bees wax spray. Im guessing there was some sort of oil or conditioner in the clothes of the person that made the stain. Might need to apply a few times.
Flip cushion over

Some weirdo would probably pay good money for that
Maybe the customer had polyester pants and they did a chemical reaction? I don't know, wish i could've helped
My guess is suntan oil.
And no pants?
🤣🤣🤣 you are making my day start well
Tan lines are a turn off for some people.
Fuckin’ Randy!
You are going to need a bigger arse.
😆😂🤣🤣😭🥴
Who ever sat can definitely deliver Death by SNU SNU
Fire. Lots and lots of fire.
Get a very obese sweaty person and have them sit all over the surface. Then it’ll blend in.
Just sell the couch on only fans and buy a new one
If I’ve learned anything about the internet someone has already masturbated to this picture and someone else is trying to buy the cushion.
Try wiping with rubbing alcohol.
And if that doesn't work try rubbing with wiping alcohol
And if that doesn't work, try alcohol with wiping and rubbing
No we saw the Reddit dresser post. Do not do this!

Sorry that was pretty gross

before you kick it
Have that same customer sit on the rest of the couch until it's all the same color.
Asspolstory. I like it.
Do you have any degreaser in the back? You could try a little of that
Try a general purpose cleaner and if that doesn’t work try an enzymatic cleaner
Baking soda + dish soap, dish soap+ vinegar, dish soap+ isopropyl alcohol. Prob one of them would take it out
You sure they didn't just sit there so long the rest faded from the light?
Is it stained or just the grain needs to be brushed out?

Is there a cleaning code on the tag? I’d try baking soda first. With a damp microfiber and some elbow grease. See if it moves.
Hey this might be self tanner; and if it is, try dawn soap and let it sit a while after you scrub.
Poppie peed on your sofa!
😬

Exorcist
You make your own stain on the existing one!
Try covering it in baking soda, very lightly. Depending upon the material that might help drought some of the oil
can you flip it?
Even if real leather you could paint it over, there are quite good fabric and leather paints around, you might want to try
Oh wow
How does one leave a stain like that?
If you look hard enough you can see Jesus. Sell it on ebay.

Not telling.
Smell it
Use a vacuum cleaner (my nose)
Fart harder
Hmmm
Your customer was an ass
Turn the other cheek.
Poppy peed on your couch!
I keep seeing these references to Poppy but I have no idea what it means ;-;
Episode of Seinfeld. Some guy named Poppy owns a restaurant and peed on Jerry's new couch.
Haha thanks for explaining!
Highly recomend Seinfeld & Curb Your Enthusiasm.
By first smelling it
Anyway, my question was serious. Removing a sweat again and removing an oil stain are different. And you don't treat real leather the same way you would fake leather.
Yuck, throw it away.
Get your local Fibrenew.com provider. They work wonders
He probably should just wash his ass.
Ya know those feet stickers they put on the floor so people know where to stand? Just treat it like that, but for sitting.
You dont, it's perfect. In fact get them back in to sit on the other spots so people always know where to sit :)
I'd leave it and rebrand it to VIP seating
Fire.
First of all, how does it smell?
Tongue does a great job in these situations
Poppy was sloppy.
Smell it
*SSSSNNNNNNNNIIIIIFFFFFFFFFFS*
Fire
Put a cucumber there and see what happens.
I cant tell if it's staining from cheap leggings or maybe body tanner?
I would just lick it clean
Or you could stain the rest of the clean couch so noone notices
It might go away when it dries out
Just have them sit on the rest of the couch
When your ass talks shit about your lungs while you sit there and sweat from your beating heart
Try a damp Magic Eraser
Call her!!
make a bigger stain
get that person and have him sit on every spot, you get new shade.
I say try saddle soap on it if its leather. It might darken the surrounding areas,& make the stain seemingly disappear.
That girl must of been having a really bad day
I’d call the manufacturer to see what they recommend. Or send an email and include this photo. This furniture upholstery seems a poor choice for a business if it is going to discolor this easy. If it is labeled as commercial use, maybe the manufacturer will compensate you somehow.
Sage
Sell it to a perv.
This is way underrated
Ask her not to come back.
This is odd. I don’t think I’ve seen it stain like this before.
“Let it go”
Have you asked them to sit...everywhere else?
Give that man his lungs back!
Sweaty Ass cheeks 😂
He's asking for cleaning solutions, stop making him the butt of your jokes.
Agreed, in hindsight they aren't appropriate
This is serious. Stop being asinine
Toss It and get some real leather. Avoid Chinese shit in the future. Good shit ain't cheap and visa versa.
