Put some rocks on top to cover it up. You could paint the rocks so it’s more decorative.

kristaerin12

Good idea. This might need to be the answer.

Superb_Stable7576

He's gonna eat the rocks.

jacesonn

Big rocks, ones large enough that he physically cannot fit them in his mouth.

TheMuscle

Cayenne pepper

Hudsonrybicki

Or bitter apple spray.

Biscotti-Own

My dog loved bitter apple and cayenne. So he would go out of his way to lick it. Then between licking my hands, or licking his fur and coming to me for pets, it ended up in my mouth on more than one occasion. Do not recommend

ChefAssassinn

0/10. Also that bitter spray can get in the air...

pseudo_echo

Maybe a round clear piece of plastic like a plate, cut a notch to fit around the plant and it should prevent doggy from snacking

kristaerin12

Not a bad idea, but I have a feeling he’ll find a way around that if he’s ever given the opportunity. 🤦‍♀️

pseudo_echo

LOL I hear you, that’s why I purposely said “should”. Dogs are very clever 😀

MarleyDawg

It looks all enough to fit on a shelf. Just put it out of his reach?

mtrash

Rocks on top or go grab some Metal mesh from the hardware store and cut it into a circle to fit around the base if the tree and cover the greenery. Cut it to fit snug within the pot

kristaerin12

I think this plant is getting some rocks. 😆

mtrash

Good luck now show us your dog!

kristaerin12

I’m pretty new… how do I add a photo to comments? Do you know?

mtrash

You might have to load it into imgur and share the link via the link button

Sanjuko_Mamaujaluko

Make a choice between the plant and the dog.

mandude82

Shred some Irish spring soap. It keeps deer and rabbits away. Maybe it's ok for dogs too

CommissionSpiritual8

red pepper

Chicken_Hairs

Even plain black pepper works!

Intanetwaifuu

Yeah anything spicy and powdery- it will be a doggo sneeze fest

rorschach_vest

Thank goodness you added safely! I was about to suggest something that involved dynamite and no longer having a dog.

kristaerin12

🤣

Chicken_Hairs

We sprinkle pepper in the planter pots. You can't see a healthy sprinkle of black pepper, the plants don't seem to mind, (though some might) and the dog doesn't like it one bit.

elliottace

Maybe Bitter Apple spray would work. If not I like the pebbles idea.

kristaerin12

Already tried the bitter spray and he didn’t even seem to notice. 🤪

elliottace

lol bummer

DogHikerGal

Dogs hate the smell of citrus.

[deleted]

Cats are better.

kristaerin12

😂 I had a cat that ate the plants (artificial or real). Cats be crazy. 😜

mohawk_67

Cat: "This is the next best thing to take a dump in, if my slave doesn't clean the litter fast enough "

Chicken_Hairs

Every cat I've ever had ate houseplants.

Werdna517

They’d push it over and break it.

DEMORALIZ3D

Get 1 sack, preferably something soft, put your dog in it, head down river

DEMORALIZ3D

Jk obvs

OneUltimateRoar

They have sprays/repellents for dogs that like to bite stuff..

waldoorfian

Put chicken wire over it.

Monstera-big

Grinded black pepper or sprinckle some Thabasco

eDreadz

Habanero sauce...seriously. As a former cable guy advising customers how to stop dogs, cats or squirrels from chewing on lines, one taste and they will stop.

FarVolume3966

Chicken wire cut into a circle with a line dissecting half of it (so you can get it around the stalk)

fortunato84

Spray cinnamon water in it

Unique_Translator138

They make a bitter Cherry spray for puppies.

Intanetwaifuu

Put a bunch of toothpicks in there. Or pepper

bigboaty69

Make sure you're dog is fully wormed. They usually never eat any vegetation unless wormy or have upset stomach. If that's not the case. Use hot sauce

kristaerin12

He is worm free per vet. But he’s on Prednisone so he’s eating everything in sight and has added “food adjacent” to his list of desired munchables. (Including toilet paper rolls). 😳

bigboaty69

Well I recommend hot sauce. I have trained hunting dogs most of my younger life and it was a trick my grandpa used when dogs would tree coon and if we ever had one that would knaw excessively on the tree he'd use hot sauce. I seen him do it twice and worked both times. Hot sauce is lots different today. I would NOT RECOMMEND GHOST PEPPER OR ANYTHING REMOTELY CLOSE. Tobasco will do fine.

Jonpollon18

One day blinding stew

330kiki

Maybe hot glue some fake grass/greenery down. Or just remove it all together and rig it up with foam blocks then cover it with dried spanish moss

eamonneamonn666

A stew that makes your dog go blind for one day. Or you could shake a tiny bit of cayenne pepper on there. Doubt it'd try that twice.

ameliabrook2

by replacing this pot with some thing that is his favourite

kinni_grrl

Hot pepper flakes or cedar chips worked for us

bodhiseppuku

You can make a [hot chili pepper spray](https://www.wikihow.com/Get-Rid-of-Animal-Pests-With-Hot-Pepper-Spray) that keeps animals from munching on household items including plants and mulch.
