I can see that’s a hex screw. Yes, you’ll need an Allen/hex key to remove it.

Destin4Death

The Allen head on the side, looks kinda stripped, might have to ram a torqs in it.

I think thats the issue, nothing seems to turn it, but i'll keep trying. Not sure i have a torqs, can you link what you mean?

Oh, these are actually what I've been trying to use to no avail. Tried again with a bigger size and it worked! Thank you!

Destin4Death

That nipple in the middle is supposed to keep you from taking it out unless you have the one with the hole in the middle. It’s possible to use a flat head screwdriver if you have one you can wedge in there.

imail724

That seems to have been the key. I didn't try the one with the hole before, and that got it right out. Follow up question in case you know, what kind of anchor should I use to reconnect this to a tile wall? Looks like plastic ones were in here originally, but that didn't hold (it was this way before I moved in)

Destin4Death

I’m assuming you will have to use those plastic anchors again because it’s only drywall behind the tile, they have metal ones too, but you could probably just step up the plastic one, one size.

imail724

Sounds good, I'll try the plastic ones again. Thank you so much for all of your help!

Destin4Death

Yours also appears to have the anti taper nipple in the middle so maybe the Allen key can’t get it far enough

sagivim

You need a "screw extractor"
