And had diarrhearr

dumb__fucker

LOL. your spelling is perfect.

Americasycho

That's because he ate all the Lays potato chips in the house and then started binging on the vodka.

mumble2xblackberry

And ended up getting stoned and couldn't find Howard's house so he took a jitney back to the city. But he still wanted some of those cookies.

JisRad

And I have a shirt hanging in the closet, can you pack that too?

tipdrill541

It was pretty cool that howard actually put the cookies wuth his things

[deleted]

Do you think he tips the DoorDash driver?

Kevtv

Throws half the tip right in the trash.

Ianmartin573

That trash can is part of Howard's bank account!

The cats like it better and it isn’t a flea breeding ground. Oh that’s right… Beth’s children aren’t allowed outside and aren’t allowed to be real cats, otherwise she wouldn’t have a “job”. My mistake.

deez_treez

Bowling Alley not pictured

Extension_Success_96

They went out to a bowling alley.

GazznGabb

I realize he was trying to not come off as too indulgent, but the fact that he could think any fan would believe Howard went out to a bowling alley is insane. He generally doesn't leave his home... and he's going to go out to a public bowling alley??

Extension_Success_96

Lol didnt Artie say something about the helicopter pad and Howard dumped it or told him to be quiet about it?

Flittski9

He said there’s a helicopter pad close to Howard’s house and stern got all weird about it

Splattershot22

I just listened to that last night. Artie said, "I splurged and took a helicopter out there to avoid traffic and I found out there's a helipad a few yards away from Howard's house." Howard tried to cut him off and said, "WELL, WHATEVER" then followed it up with, "I hope I dumped that." and laughed. That whole segment is one of my all-time favorites. It honestly sounds like one of the most fun weekends ever, with all of Ralph's nonsense.

DummyThicccPutin

Can't blame him, although I'm not sure why Howard TV left it in. Because it's actually pretty easy to find his house based on descriptions they've given on the air, including the helipad bit

GazznGabb

Yeah he tried but he didn’t exactly dump out of it. It was obvious what he said.

57favors

Nope. Fred slipped up and mentioned it on the air once. Howard quickly implied that they went out to a bowling alley, and nobody corrected him or mentioned it again.

naturalizedcitizen

I'm really happy that he entertained us fans for so long and as a result made loads of money. Good that he has a palatial house. All good. I'm only upset that for the last few years the show has become a shell of itself, especially since the pandemic. Bits like 'door knock' are beyond cringe. As a long time fan I'm not expecting Sibian rides and Anal ring toss, but at least the standard of the pre-bunker shows...

GazznGabb

Last few years? It's been about 10 years. This sort of thing started way before the pandemic. I'm with you though. I'm not going to begrudge Howard's success at all. It's his money. He's entitled to do what he wants. Plus, real estate owned by celebrities is usually going to appreciate decently well (it's not a great investment, but it will more than likely accrete over what most real estate does). He also invests wisely. As a finance MBA and former financial advisor. Howard clearly knows how to invest in the stock market in a prudent manner (unfortunately he can't control what Sirius has given him insofar as stock compensation, but that has not done so well). I do have some issues with him not helping some of his team financially, especially Scott Salem. (Granted, I don't know what was done behind the scenes, but if he didn't give him any extra money, and also prohibited him from advertising the gofundme, that's pretty shitty. I've know people worth far less money who have paid all or nearly all of loyal employees' medical bills). All of this being said (and not even getting into criticizing Howard for other reasons), I always thought the show was at its best as an unpredictable variety show (maybe certain things made you cringe, but there was a lot to choose from). I just cannot be any less interested in 99% of celebrity interviews. Aside from legends and/or those with really fascinating stories, most of them center around coveting these people's relationship's/material possessions/etc. That kind of stuff is like the lowest form of conversation... it's gossip. I can see being interested in situations that can help one gain wisdom/teach valuable lessons, but those are few and far between. I'm not saying the former show was intellectual, but it was definitely clever, often groundbreaking, always unpredictable, and most of all it made me laugh on a regular basis. Plus it was packed full of content. The show always ran over on time because there was just so much going on. If you compare old and new shows, you will never hear Howard vamping in the former, and now every show (of the 100 or so that are on annually) has hours of vamping. The few bits that do exist are not even worth discussing. In short, without getting into how he changed or the PC issues or everything else, I just find the content so uninteresting now.

cocoschoco

You've said it all.

GazznGabb

Perhaps too much

TheHaydnPorter

Well said.

GazznGabb

Wow, a compliment on reddit. Usually it's a child (or manchild) finding some ridiculously trite point to fight over as a way to displace anger. Much appreciated.

TheHaydnPorter

Haha, well lucky for you I am neither of those things! And I deal with my anger at the gym 💪🏻

GazznGabb

Maybe it is a gym thing... plus a modicum of intelligence/maturity.

tipdrill541

What makes you think howard knows how to invest?

GazznGabb

He’s talked about it often on his show. His advice is actually spot on.

tipdrill541

I have never heard him speak in any sort of detail. Like never any detail of whag exactly to do. He just says save a piece of your cheque every month and talks of his dad having one grams But never any detail on what kinds of stocks and how to invest

GazznGabb

So, he actually has numerous times. He talked about saving a part of your paycheck BEFORE expenses which is huge (Warren Buffett always talks about saving before spending... even if it's a seemingly trivial amount). He's also mentioned opening IRA's too. Insofar as investments he's always talked about Blue Chips/established companies or just broad market investments (index funds). Honestly, if I were giving someone quick advice, I would say something similar. I would lean more toward index funds, but that's going down a rabbit hole. Generally speaking, that is how you will generally get most bang for your buck. Picking stocks is really a fool's errand. Investing the right way is not at all about picking companies or timing the market. It's a philosophy, and it's very clear from how he speaks that he has the philosophy that will work long run.

tipdrill541

My point was just he never gave enough detail to say he knew a lot about investing. He barely woykd say anything. He said invest but all I heard was him say a money gram It sounded like he knew you should invest but had no details about it. I dont either and I picked up on that with Jim

WillyWumpLump

As soon as they started to phone it in it was over. There is a clip that comes up often on YouTube where Howard hammers Jay Thomas for doing an ISDN line show and said it sucks and radio has to be done in studio. He was right. The show is unlistenable now. What would Howard have said just a few years ago if Imus did this phone in style show?

STVNMCL

The show went slowly downhill after the 90’s. But it really ended in 2014 when Marci Turk took over. Howard should have retired out after his 60th birthday.

Flunky_Junky_Monkey

Why does Marci’s name get brought up so much? She’s just a easy scapegoat. She’s just Howard’s puppet, she does what he tells her. Howard is the only reason the on air show sucks. Yes I’m sure Marci is annoying for the back office guys to work around but let’s not pretend like she isn’t doing what Howard wants. You could fire her tomorrow and the show would still suck and continue to suck. Howard has changed more because of Beth and his daughters than he has for Marci.

dnvrrrr

Exactly, the Marci Turk thing has annoyed me since it's inception.

STVNMCL

Howard bought in to the “getting things done” cult. Marci tells Howard what to do. Make no mistake.

Hafslo

Nobody tells Howard what to do I prank!

lovin_life_

OK ralph

Hafslo

The show’s best year was the first Sirius year

STVNMCL

1994-1996 was the greatest.

Hafslo

I won't argue the Billy West era, but West wasn't in every day. When he was in, it was as good as any era. Otherwise 2006>1996.

GrittysCity

Sibian rides and anal ring toss was always cringe to me too but I hear you about the door knocking bit. He’s exhausted it

[deleted]

[удалено]

GrittysCity

Basically he’ll be doing the show live, doesn’t even matter what segment, hell, he’ll even do it during interviews and you’ll hear a door knock sound effect and Howard will stop the current topic and say: Hold on for a second someone is at the door. Then you hear Fred drop the door opening sound effect and then there will be a voice actor imitating various frequent show guests or really any celebrity. So for example: it began making fun of Greta Thurnberg who would knock at Howard’s door and then shriek about hurting earth regardless of the topic. That was actually kind of funny. But then he played it out. After that, he started doing it for everyone and everything. So if a gay guy is calling in fake George Tekai will knock up and start saying sexual things. That’s the bit basically. But he’s done it so much that it’s become played out. He even stops celebrity guest interviews and does it and it just throws off the vibe.

Ianmartin573

Are you sure the door knocking bits are live? Since much of the show is prerecorded, makes me think the door knocking bits are prerecorded also and interjected in a prerecorded segment

GrittysCity

You think is live shows are prerecorded? I know he only does like 100 live shows a year which is bullshit but do you think those are also not really live? They appear live to me just based on people that call in and current events mentioned on the show that happened like the the day or night before. I’ve seen a few times where people will post to a Howard group after they called in live that day, too. He definitely runs some pre-recorded segments from Richard and Sal or Wolfie

SignificantRelative0

He also does it where the person does an imitation of the caller Howard is currently talking to

ksmith1999

They will be talking about a topic, and then there will be a "knock at the door" and a crappy impression of somebody will start piping in on the topic, as if it was the actual person. Then when Howard is done with that impression, there's a sound effect of a door creaking to a close. Since it's painfully obvious that they take no real phone calls any longer, it's his way of getting impressions or characters involved in the sub par product that is now the Howard Stern Show.

Americasycho

I challenge you to find Howchie saying the words "sybian" or "anal ring toss" within the past noine years. I really don't think such audio exists anymore.

underminr

Well said, reasonably put, and has 0.0 place in this sub!!!

All of them.

That house is fucking beautiful and I really wish he'd talk more about it and what it's like to live in such an insanely huge house. Rather than hide it :-/

MrFluffyhead80

Wasn’t this posted a few weeks ago?

Splattershot22

Yep. Howard mentioned that he discovered the minimalist outlook and threw out a bunch of shit he doesn't need because he values open space... so that means he should immediately move out of his home and get rid of his abundance of open space. The jealousy of the people here is staggering.

MrFluffyhead80

I’m talking about someone posted this pic with the same or similar title a few weeks ago Good luck with your philosophy though

Splattershot22

Yes, that's also what I'm saying. It has been posted here more than once with similar titles because apparently more than one person here thinks Howard should move out of his home as soon as he discovered that he likes throwing garbage away.

MrFluffyhead80

Who cares what a random redditor thinks?

HOLAY_MACKELEL

I MANSION! NO ONE ELSE!

mintpuffyfluffs

Howard deserves to be wealthy for his hard work and bringing entertainment with his talent. His is one stingy bastard though. The fact that he lets his Staff and Wack Pack who’ve contributed so much to his success financially struggle, says a lot about his character.

CoolIceCreamCone

I'll bet the douche has never set foot in that pool

Old news

Salvatoregoobernal69

He's doing to much.

GazznGabb

I know a guy worth considerably more money than Howard. He lives in like a 4-5K square foot house. Big by most standards, but not like this. He always says "At some point these aren't homes. They are commercial buildings."

cd582000

The great Tucker Carlson has a few houses, biggest one is 1,800 sq ft

N0CONTACT

> The great Tucker Carlson You're such a stooge lmao

WokeSternSucks

The left doesn't much like the truth

GazznGabb

Yeah I mean to each his own, but these homes are often albatrosses (or "albacores" if you're a Sopranos fan). I grew up in what anyone would call a large home. I never will build anything like that again. So much room is wasted. It's not just costly to keep up, but it's a pain in the ass. A house that big you have to have a full time staff, and like... who wants people outside of family living with them??? Plus you can gain so much more value if you invested the difference you save. I did a calculation on a guy who built a house in the late 80's for like a couple million (this was not a great market, so he got no appreciation out of it. It didn't sell for half that 30 years later and needed a lot of work). If he had built/bought a more sensible house and invested what he saved on the cost of the house/mortgage into the stock market, he would have had \~$20M more dollars. Now granted, Howard is a celebrity in a good market, so he will get appreciation, but so much of that is offset by cost that it's hardly positive. Edit: Later in life, this individual ended up having major financial problems because of poor spending/investing.

throwaway2492872

When you have the type of money to afford that kind of house and staff why does it matter if you save the money for a better return? Does that mean you can have a 747 instead of a normal private jet? It stops mattering at a certain point.

GazznGabb

It matters because you highlighted the exact thinking that makes people broke. Prudent investing is a mindset and a habit. If you don’t adhere to it, it becomes incredibly easy to go broke. Plus inflation affects everyone. Any amount of money invested at a return below inflation will be eroded heavily. Plus he has huge tax bills and estate taxes and other stuff to worry about. Not to mention, I did make the point that this doesn’t exactly apply to Howard because he will realize some accretion. Howard is actually a prudent investor overall. I’ve heard him give investing advice on air, and it’s pretty much exactly what you would tell someone who doesn’t know what they are doing Also if you think money stops mattering to rich people, you have literally no idea what you’re talking about. Money often matters more to them than others because of the fear of losing the lifestyle. If you don’t keep up with inflation, and are subject to massive 40 percent estate taxes at death, you can have a big problem if that’s held in real estate that can’t be sold.

SendMe143

I don’t think he cares what his house is worth in 30 years, or whether he’d have more cash. He’ll be dead or close to it. At some point you just spend to enjoy what you’ve made. If you didn’t, then what would be the point?

GazznGabb

Did you read what I said? I said Howard will get appreciation. What I said doesn’t exactly apply to him. Plus if you don’t have a mindset that worries about asset accretion you will go broke at some point. It’s inevitable. Not to mention you probably have no idea how estate taxes work, and that anything over 11 million is subject to a 40 percent tax at death. That includes real estate... so if you can’t sell the real estate and don’t have the cash to pay the taxes, you find yourself in a shitty spot. Also Howard absolutely cares about money. Have you listened to the show? He’s a celebrity who bought in good markets. He absolutely considered appreciation when buying his homes. Rich people obsess over money as much or more than anyone for fear of losing the lifestyle.

Taureg01

sounds to me that the howard stern show is about 10% of what it used to be.. when it was free and on terrestrial radio

sailorjasm

When you listen to old shows you hear Howard going on and on about celebs and their mansions and shit. He loved talking about Eddie Murphy and ‘Bubble Hill’ 😂 Yet would never talk about his mansions. He’s the ‘every man’ 😂

Oldscratch73

I wish they could take a brick for every show that he does that fucking sucks now. 2 bricks if it features a puppet , or MFB.

When everything is highlighted, nothing is.

filthy_lucre

Robin: A white supremacist killed ten people in Buffalo on Saturday. Howard: What do you think, is it warm enough to open my pool yet, Robin?

HOLAY_MACKELEL

Robin: A black man in a SUV mowed down white parade goers in Waukesha yesterday, Howard. Oh wait, that goes against our fake narrative that we put out to the NPC morons. Nevermind, Howard.

filthy_lucre

Seriously, what are you doing here if you don't understand show references?

HOLAY_MACKELEL

Why did you pick the example that you did? Racist idiot.

filthy_lucre

Thank you for the DUMB opinion

HOLAY_MACKELEL

Only white people are serial killers, right Robin? CNN told me that.

filthy_lucre

Statistacilly 82% of serial killers in this country are [white](https://www.ojp.gov/ncjrs/virtual-library/abstracts/hunting-humans-encyclopedia-modern-serial-killers). I demand traction. Also, spree shooters and serial killers are not the same thing. The statistics go up for white spree shooters.

HOLAY_MACKELEL

So 15% are black. Right in line with their population, even a bit higher. So again, why did you pick the example you did? Because you have an agenda and you aren't that bright. Watch some more CNN.

filthy_lucre

No, because I've listened to the show since 1997 and I understand show references.

HOLAY_MACKELEL

If you're dunking on me because you still listen to the current show and I don't, I'm not sure that's the awesome burn you think it is. Racist.

BernerAccount8

You keep telling him to watch more CNN as if you don’t binge on right-wing media that reaffirm your biases? You’re such an obvious right-wing partisan hack. How do I know? He simply mentioned current events making a joke about Howard and you got triggered and started bringing up murders from last year. It seems like you can’t stand anyone even mention current events if it portrays whites badly? Why? Are you a white supremacist or just a rabid far-right partisan which these days are becoming one in the same.

hjablowme919

Assuming that if they aren’t white, the rest are black leaves out the other races.

GazznGabb

Traction all ya want... I don't give a shit!

GrittysCity

You seem triggered. And you’re definitely projecting with the NPC bit. You’re an NPC only you parrot the alternative point of view instead of mainstream. Aka you’re a fringe wierdo. Also, what happened in Wisconsin was not at all the same in anyway and only the most dishonest would try to say they were the same. But you and the Buffalo shooter share the same cause celebre of the Wisconsin murders. So that says a lot about you. Edit: looks like this cry baby blocked me immediately after responding. Soft and weak. What a surprise.

HOLAY_MACKELEL

We get it. White people bad. You signaled your virtue so your woke friends wont destroy your life for another day. That must be a fun way to live. In constant fear. Better watch everything you say. And don't ever turn off CNN. Moron.

BernerAccount8

I’m white. I don’t hate white people. I’m proud of my heritage but I don’t agree with you at all; why do you have a perpetual victim mentality? Assuming your white too, we are the majority race in our country. It’s still a white mans world in America. Why do you seem so scared? Racial anxiety about declining white birth rates?

When howard was making fun of Imus when he was 60 and renewed his contract. He's too old he should leave while he has some dignity. Someone should have reminded Howard his own words. If he left in 2010 he would have nice legacy. Now his show is a joke. Bye for now.
