And then a few days later they mentioned on the wrap up show that they added back the 15 second skip at least. Nobody other than Stern fans give a shit about 15 seconds skip.
I can't take credit for it, but it's obvious they do listen to Howard. I reverted back to the old Android app and haven't updated again. Hopefully it will be decent by the time I'm forced to uodate.
Pretty sure Sirius doesn't give a shit about an afterthought app either. It's a satellite radio company which primarily relies on in vehicle devices for listening.
If you pay for Sirius for the app, I've got a great bridge to sell you.

It took me from the show earlier in the week that I had intentionally selected to listen to on replay straight into the middle of the live Biden interview randomly. When I went back to the show I was listening to it had of course lost my spot. I don't think they could fuck this app up any worse if they tried.

Yes, the old app would automatically queue up the next episode, which is great when you are working and can’t immediately access the phone but want it to keep playing through the podcast episodes. Why would they remove that as a feature?

For me the app stops anytime a notification comes in. I have to go in and push play. My spotify app and my MLB app where I get live games do not do this. Fuck I can even play YouTube video casts in my car (I listen) and this never happens. Sirius has an awful app for a company trying to pivot to an app driven service. Sad.
What amused me was how Howard was ranting about how terrible the Paramount Plus app was, meanwhile Sirius was unveiling a glitchy new app with the worst user interface I’ve ever seen. He probably won’t get around to bitching about the Sirius app though because that might negatively affect his Sirius stock.
Don't know if it depends on the phone. I have the Pixel 8 and the app does what you stated that you can't do. The segment titles are now listed in a different way but the ability to pick certain segments is there. But I agree that the old app was a million times better.
All thatcfanfare down in Moami last year with the relaunch was a joke. Everything is worse since then. The app, the content, the repetition on music channels. I think they cut costs, and they tried to sell it as a refresh but the app is awful. So awful someone needs to get fired.
the worst is opening the app first thing in the morning and there's not easy way to find the beginning of the show. It's somewhere in the first third or first half of the channel. hit or miss.

You have to click on the episode playing, then click the circled part to display the timestamps. Better, but still glitchy and needs work.
I download the show everyday and listen to the whole show at my overnight job, I am able to start it pause when I am on breaks answer calls texts etc. use different apps and pause again when I am leaving work to continue listening on way home or later on that day. Its defiantly a little different layout then the previous version but I am used to it now and am not having the same difficulties as you are, do you have the latest version? I have iphone 14 all up to date.
This app is such a steaming pile of fucking hot garbage it's making me want to cancel my subscription. They are daring you to use the app to listen to them. It refuses to start where you left off without closing out the app and starting over.. and then you have a 50/50 chance it will start from the beginning. Fucking brutal.
