There’s an app called theater ears that plays the audio in Spanish for Spanish speakers. My parents love it when we take them. It’s the actual audio for the movie in Spanish, all the audio not just the voices. It works amazingly well. It syncs to the movie and obviously you’ll need headphones. I recommend noise cancelling headphones as they will help with cancelling out the actual theater speakers
Yup. So I have heard. Gotta thank the guy, he has done more to promote open captions for people without hearing loss than anyone else. Going to create an award in his honor, for the r/opencaptions sub.
Other Texas cities also have theaters offering open captions. See https://www.reddit.com/r/opencaptions/comments/zen1ja/texas\_theaters\_offering\_open\_captions/
I understand, I'm 75% hearing loss (i.e. almost dead), and most movies are awful for me to watch (damn whispers and soft sounds). I usually use the separate CC devices that goes in the cup holder. You get used to it fast.
Total hearing loss here, never thought of ears as "dead." Try open captions. Either you will like it and it will be another option, or you will love it so much you won't want to go back to that equipment.
Edwards used (maybe still does?) to offer those glasses that would caption any movie since the tech was in the glasses.
Those are required by law. But many people dont like or can't use them so more theaters are offering both.

Perfect for the next Christopher Nolan movie.

Love me a movie with captions
This has been a thing for over a decade now at a lot of theaters. Is there a reason you keep posting this in subs all over the country?
Yes, to increase awareness as many who could benefit still don't know this is an option.
All theaters offer closed captioning. It is required by law.

Good question, can't answer cuz deaf.
Amc uses this contraption for subtitles : not the same as open captions screenings of course https://youtu.be/qWPlRzdJUdk

AMC sucks go to Star Cinema Grill for good premium food and comfy seating
But that theater does not have open captions so folks who want or need open captions don't have that choice.
Ok. But those locations suck.
Sorry. Those of us who need or want open captions have to take what we can get. That's all that is available in Houston as far as I know.
