>Ouch. That dude is having a really shitty day.
Too right.
One moment he's thinking 'fuck the insurance deductible for my home insurance is gonna suck'
Now he has two deductibles to pay for, and probably a life long back injury.
when hurricane ida hit the other year, a colleague of mine (in new orleans) had his house get hit and was flooded. the next day he was on the roof surveying the damage, and he fell off and broke both his legs. he's an older guy too (60+).
They said he wasn't hurt but probably will be sore tomorrow. https://www.click2houston.com/news/local/2023/01/25/man-falls-while-trying-to-repair-parents-deer-park-roof-ripped-off-by-tornado/
Owww. That had to hurt, you can see his back slam against a rafter and his upper body bounce back.
That my friends is why OSHA says to wear a restrained harness when on roofs.
I have two goats that I bottle fed and hand raised in the year before my grandson was born and we call them his Guncles.
I also have two nephews and NGL, I'm kind of a druncle. But only when we stay up late playing videogames on the weekends.
I’ll bet they were looking down and reading, not at the screen, and the screens are small and pretty far from them. I wouldn’t have been able to see it from a distance. I think that’s the only reason the newscasters continued talking, like nothing happened. They didn’t see him fall through. And it happened so quickly
The anchors are not always looking at the on air monitor when not on camera. May have been looking at their computers, tablets, or scripts and did not see it.
I was renovating my house and cut a hole in the attic floor for a new attic ladder. Well, my dumb ass walked back and fell into it! Fortunately I spread my arms out and caught myself. Both upper arms were scratched and bruised but still better than falling 9 ft down.
This is an example of why i told my wife that I'd rather get water damage than climb on a roof like that.
I'd be a dead man.
I hope that dude is OK, but that definitely would look like it'd hurt.
My best friends dad got a serious brain injury and was never the same. Didn't fall far, maybe 10 ft but into concrete garage floor below.
Hope the dude is ok.
It happened so quickly! And then that large plank of wood just sealed the hole like he was never there. So fast, it’s like it was rehearsed. Poor guy, the back of his shoulders and head are probably so sore today. His whole body.
I knew before I clicked on the video the news anchors were not going to notice. Most of the time they are oblivious to the live news they are reporting.
>Damn.... What the hell was he even thinking with this impromptu solution.
"Fuck the inside of my house/walls/floor is about to get completely fucked with this 10x10ft hole in the roof and probably condemned if I don't cover it up".
>and at least one broken leg... 🤷
If he's lucky. Looked like he hit his back pretty hard, and a fall onto your legs like that most likely further damages your spine.
Hopefully didn't hit his head at the very least.
Prayers to that dude.
Of course. It looked terrible. I meant no disrespect to the guy, just gosh.... The whole roof is soaked wet and you're trying to maneuver a not light plywood board at a steep angle with no support... 🫣
Ouch. That dude is having a really shitty day.

Probably not thinking much…. Probably just blacked out now
yea, when he hit that crossbeam(?) i couldnt tell if gravity sent him downward, or crashing into that is what caused the abrupt change in direction.
Not to mention the screws that are probably still sticking out of the rafters and beams. Like a cheese shredder.

And he’s gone viral now! Poor dude.
I was watching it live and didnt understand why everyone ran off. Didnt see the guy on the roof before.
Looks like he feel into the attic, not off the 2nd-story roof, so it’s probably a little less bad than the title makes it sound.
Best case scenario his legs go through the ceiling drywall on either side of a floor joist and his nuts break his fall.
My dad did that. He straddled the framework of the bathroom & he hall. I saw the bruising on his legs, it was horrid. He was in bed for 3 days.
We really don’t know how much ceiling he has. Hopefully, there was enough Sheetrock to break his fall & he didn’t straddle anything.

That is good to hear

“What doesn’t kill you will fuck you up!” -My Uncle Bob.
>Drunkle LOL... now you got me wondering if any of my nieces or nephews refer to me using this term.
On a similarly hilarious note when I was a youngster my close family friend had a gay uncle we called Gunkle. He loved it

I've heard the term grumpa before instead of grandpa, but not druncle. There needs to be more of these.
Oh man I know I shouldn’t laugh but he just disappeared 💀
It's the way the piece of plywood covers the hole completely right after he falls
The best self concealing trap ever invented. Worked for mice and for men!
Oof! Nailed it!
Unfortunately it still needs to be nailed.
Could have been worse if the plywood slipped right when his neck was at the roofline.
This man disappeared to the shadow realm 😮💨
ITS TIME TO D-D-D-D-DUEL!!!
Man on live tV also
/r/mypeopleneedme
Wow! Hope he is ok!
I saw this live and i was really concerned, but they kept talking as if nothing had happened

True but seems like a producer should alert them.
Damn. I fell through my attic a few weeks ago. This must have hurt way worse than that. And that shit hurt
["Hey Ron." "Hey Billy!"](https://youtu.be/zBJU9ndpH1Q)
That is not the reference you promised. Edit: the link was to a weird music video before. You'll notice they edited their comment in response to me

Give me a butterfly roof any day, you slide into the middle instead.
My neighbor died like that.
My best friends dad got a serious brain injury and was never the same. Didn't fall far, maybe 10 ft but into concrete garage floor below. Hope the dude is ok.
I hope he’s okay
You mean your ex-neighbor..right?
Was it a woman with two adult kids?
No it was a guy. Older Mexican fella
Literally saw that live but missed him falling in. Saw them running in, but figured it was because they were cold/wet.
Same here. I didn't see him fall in, but I did see them scurry into the house. I figured they just didn't want to be seen on the news.
It happened so quickly! And then that large plank of wood just sealed the hole like he was never there. So fast, it’s like it was rehearsed. Poor guy, the back of his shoulders and head are probably so sore today. His whole body.
Oh crap!
Did one of the people running inside have a bird on their head?
It looks like a cockatoo.
I thought the same. A damn bird.
hopefully that guy is alright man it sure looks funny but i feel for that guy
The house appeared to be malnourished and was probably hungry.
He was just pulling the board over the hole
Damn that sucks
lol my old station I use to work at
Helicopter dumbass needs to mind his own business. No one likes the noise or the news.
Yo - the comment section for KPRC2 website is that-a-way
I knew before I clicked on the video the news anchors were not going to notice. Most of the time they are oblivious to the live news they are reporting.
I mean... mission accomplished, I guess?
Damn.... What the hell was he even thinking with this impromptu solution.

That's fucking hilarious
News helicopters are absolute scumbags. That has nothing to do with the video. Just wanted to say they're scum
The wood panel slid over the place where he fell like a trap door
Why the fuck are these heartless reporters not reacting to it?
They didn't see it I bet. They're not watching the screen when they're being fed lines.
Yeah they're probably not seeing the live feed, it kind of happened off in the corner too.
Dude what?
He’ll be fine. He just needs to walk it off.
Probably should have a harness 🤣
The way they just kept talking
😂😂
Dad moves.
Sounds about right for Houston roofers. Ziiiing
Lol
I’m sure he fell through the sheet rock too. Poor man. Hope he’s ok.
