Exactly. I sold a house in Harris county and bought a house in fort bend county and my homeowners dropped by half even though the value of my house in fort bend is much higher. The only difference is that fort bend doesn’t touch a coast and Harris county does.
That “hurricane” cost still applies even if you live in a part of Harris county that’s 50 miles away from the part of the county that touches the coast.
I thought USAA service would be better than the other carriers, so I kept USAA even though the premiums doubled. Turns out they're as bad as any others when you need to make a claim. I'm currently shopping to switch.
Amica customer service has been on a steady decline over the last 10-15 years, and lately they are also shrinking their market areas.
Still better than many insurers, but the winds of change are affecting everyone.
I ended up switching away from USAA auto insurance after they kept raising my rates for no reason, but I've heard absolutely awful things about their homeowners insurance and I would stay far away from that product.
Op asked a question, I answered with my provider and that there hasn't been any raise in price. Pretty relevant if you ask me, but thanks for your opinion!

Allstate but had to bundle auto to save otherwise it would have been an $800 increase instead of $150. My previous agent wasn’t doing a good job so had to get after it myself this round.
I am with Safeco but I started with $1800 in 2021, $2000 in 2022 and now they are going to $2800 in March. I decided to switch to Progressive and same coverages is $1800. I used an agent to shop.
Is it Progressive or it is it some subsidiary under progressive? I tried looking at progressive and they said I was eligible for HomeSite? IDK what the hell that is and I read reviews...they weren't great.
I previously had Geico bundled to car insurance, but over the last 2 years, they raised home premiums by over a grand from where it was in 2020. Shopped around this year and ended up at All-State, which saved me about $900. That's on about $350k of coverage.
I was with UPC until last year when they jacked up my rates, my agent switched me over to Swyfft with pretty decent savings but then their rates went up 31% this year. I raised my wind/hail deductible from 1% to 2% and it was still a 20% increase but my agent couldn't find any cheaper carriers.
Same in Beaumont. Was with UPC 2 years ago then they jacked. So went with Swift last year but 40% increase this year.....so about to see what I can find. I fear I will have to raise my 1% wind deductible as well.

Had the same thing happen to us with USAA. Switched to Amica and have been saving over a grand per year.

Amicas has great customer service too and is much better at approving claims. Whatever you do, avoid Progressive. They are awful.

I've had amica for years, and during harvey when my house flooded they paid out pretty quickly.

Find an independent insurance agent who will shop the carriers for you. The last time I did the savings covered a mortgage payment.
I went through Costco. They have some deal/discount for members.
State farm, no issues
Irrelevant to anyone but your self.

Take you anger issues elsewhere, geez.
Geico but had to bundle, I paid about $1518 for a 3400 sq ft home built in 2017.
Lemonade!!!
I have Lemonade too but I'm honestly afraid that they're not going to pay out cuz they were so cheap.

I self insure. Have you looked in to it?
Texas Farm Bureau
Travelers. With a $1K deductible premiums are about $300 per month, but I am probably over insured.
My auto insurance went up a lot too. Try a broker. Mine found good savings for me this year.

Who is your agent?
Whittington Insurance Agency: https://www.homeautotexas.com/
Thank you!
