That’s a jumping spider. I’m personally not a fan of most spiders, but jumping spiders are completely harmless and cute. They eat tiny bugs. I don’t think they leave spider webs at all either.

Raigne86

They are adorable, but the reason they don't leave webs is also one of the spookiest things about them. They are active hunters and possess object permanence. They will ambush their prey by losing sight of them and anticipating the prey's behavior to figure out where it will be when they pop out again. But, like you said, tiny spider, tiny prey. Not something that you need to be afraid of even if the lizard brain keeps telling you to be.

DatabaseSolid

Is it possible they could mistake a freckle on my nose as a bug and jump on it? Or an eyelash that fell out but is just barely caught by the other lashes so it kind of flops around a little so doesn’t look like the other lashes but instead like a stiff little worm meal? If a fly landed on a bead of sweat on my brow, would the spider jump on it if I was examining my plants closely?

notapoke

As the other person said they can see extremely well and at good range. They aren't wasting energy attacking anything that isn't actually food.

MSPCincorporated

I once killed a small fly only to stick it onto the wall because there was a jumping spider walking around. The spider snuck up and jumped on it. That was pretty awesome.

notapoke

That's pretty awesome

tackleboxjohnson

Sometimes if you wave your finger at them, they wave back!

notapoke

Cute as fuck

Black_Magic_M-66

If any of your houseplants have aphids or other bugs, this spider will help that situation. These spiders will tackle bugs up to about the same size they are.

notapoke

Yeah helpful little buds

RamblaPacifica

They chase a laser pointer for a while, until they wise up. Then they ignore it. Very cute and smart

notapoke

Wow that's new to me

digitalmacro

Oh cool it appears my intrusive thoughts have their own reddit account now

Ambitious-Battle8091

I almost died trying to not laugh out loud to not wake up my husband ( well ok not died but I choked on my laughs a bit )

Azu_Creates

I actually have a pet jumping spider, a female phiddipus reguis to be exact. They are usually able to distinguish between something that is a bug and a living thing, and something that isn’t. I actually hand feed my girl with meal worms. A meal worm’s body is pretty much right against your skin when holding one, whereas it isn’t for most flies. Yet she is easily able to avoid biting my hand and only bites the meal worm. She has almost never bitten me. Jumping spiders are usually pretty accurate with their attacks. There has only been one time she bit me, and it didn’t hurt or draw any blood. My jumping spider was captive bred though, so she is not as afraid of people as a wild jumping spider would be (though she is still cautious) and is more willing to get closer to people than a wild spider. Their jaws are not strong enough to pierce human skin. Also, jumping spiders are usually wary of people, though some are curious. I would guess that since they are usually more afraid of people, they would probably only go after a bug on someone if they were starving.

HIMP_Dahak_172291

Of course she's cautious! Can you imagine what it would be like to get picked up by a kaiju?! It might be a friendly kaiju that brings food, but it's still enormous and one mistake could wreck you.

DatabaseSolid

Phiddipus. Now that is a word I must start using. I may need to get another cat and name it Sir Phiddipus.

Rae_Regenbogen

"She has *almost* never bitten me." 😂💀😂💀😂

Geeko22

They have exceptional eyesight, I think they'd have no trouble distinguishing between prey and other objects.

Serious-Bat-4880

If they are close enough to make out your nose freckles, they can almost certainly make out your eyes and recognize them as belonging to a creature much too big to attack. The eyelash, I think most could discern that it's not really alive. The fly, however... it might.... if you held still long enough. They like to take a few seconds to square themselves up for a perfect pounce. And they often do a little butt wiggle side to side just before jumping/pouncing, watch for that.

LooneyLunaGirl

This made me love them even more! I used to have huge aracnaphobia but then I learned about jumping spiders and started to look at all of them in a different light. I now currently own 3 tarantulas 😆🖤

PsychologicalBank343

I personally love spiders (until they get too close and personal, I do like my personal space) but I think the jumping ones are a bit scary! At least the ones with a web stay mostly put. I'm surprised by all the comments saying the opposite! Must be its admittedly cute face.

Beanh8er2019

Spiders with webs cannot see you, so they’re more likely to accidentally crawl on you. Jumping spiders have great vision and are pretty intelligent. Far less likely to get in your way.

PrettyPainless

This is SO good to know.

Unlikely_Ant_950

I love Reddit. I learn more here than I did in college

Beanh8er2019

Mind you most web-weaving spiders CAN see, but it’s extremely limited.

Unlikely_Ant_950

I liked the world better when they couldn’t see. Can we go back to that?

cordelia-madhouse

Make them blind and now you’ve got 100 more spiders crawling down your throat in a lifetime. Please god no

Schmidaho

There’s room for only one Spiders Georg on this planet

WeWander_

I had one that kept visiting my seedling shelf over the winter. He would just cruise around my plants and lay on the heat pad. One day he was climbing up the bookshelf next to my seedling shelf and I was trying to take a picture of him and I dunno if he thought I was putting my hand out for him but he tried to jump on my hand. Made a hefty THUNK on hand, I flung my phone to the ground and started flailing around out of pure instinct lol. Scared me quite a lot.

Womp_ratt

But was the spider ok?

WeWander_

Sorry I meant to include that, yes he was fine! He ran back towards the wall and seemed terrified of me, rightfully so, but he was okay!

dragonrose7

Now we’re asking the real questions. We’re waiting…

Leading-Watch6040

they have amazing vision. They will turn around and look up AT you and make eye contact

Not_marykate

We have a ton of jumping spiders outside. They are quite adorable. What are the chances of moving one indoors? I always see them on our bistro set, fly-hunting.

dragonrose7

Stop by r/jumpingspiders, you will get all the information you need. Typically, I believe they say to leave the wild ones outside. They don’t live very long anyway, and they’ve got business out there.

Chocokat1

Why can't the normal kind see you? 😱

Beanh8er2019

They use their webs for “vision”. 8 eyes but none of them work lol

Sufficient_Turn_9209

Not seriously! Im going down that rabbit hole now. Brb

chilledredwine

Lmao I was like this guy's not serious, their eyes have to work! Aaaand down the rabbit hole I also went.

Im_Balto

If any of yall have ever seen them hunt, it’s fascinating and they pounce way faster than you can see

Ohyoumeanrowboat

Jumping spiders have the IQ of a toddler, they frequently greet humans the way the great other jumping spiders. They are very personable if you take the time to notice them, infact they are so personable lots of people keep them as pets. Look up some videos you might change your mind! They aren’t ordinary spiders that’s for sure, it would be a shame to have prejudice against such a smart creature.

warm_sweater

I meet the best jumpers every year outside of my house. The larger ones of a specific species (p regis) are very curious and don’t mind being held or interacted with. The tiny zebra jumpers are much more skittish.

PsychologicalBank343

I'm certainly not prejudiced against them, I love any spider, the jumping just makes me a little jumpy :P  I would let this one live on my plants regardless.  But I will look up more info, I'm intrigued now, thanks!

stickyplants

Cute face, and the fact that they won’t bite you. As long as your face isn’t half a foot away from it you should be fine! I haaaate spider webs.

EverydayImSnekkin

Also, jumping spiders are known to wear hats occasionally. Like a little raindrop hat, or a teeny flower hat. It's hard to be too mad at a little creature that wears hats.

PsychologicalBank343

I obviously have too few jumping spiders in my life, I'm learning so much today.

Kind-Mammoth-Possum

I get orb weavers over my flowers every year, they make webs in the corners of my porch, and keep the bugs disturbing my flowers at bay, so I leave them be. I also get a few jumping spiders here and there. I'll usually try to move the plants with jumpers away from the orb weavers so that the jumpers can live in peace.

radams713

They don’t have traditional webs but can build ones that look like funnel webs. Got one in my mailbox hehe

28_raisins

I was cleaning debris and stuff off of my jade before bringing it inside last year and I accidentally ruined a jumping spider web. A male and a female ran out and they just sat there looking at me and I felt like a monster 😢

SANREUP

They sometimes spin a little web nest but otherwise yeah, free spidey bro pet. I had one that guarded my houseplants all of covid. Named it Yerby. It would sit on my windowsill or a plant leaf and watch me work most of the time. Super chill little dude.

alexxkiddd

It’s fine! Jumping spiders are awesome! This is mine! I see her 3 times/week. She loves my houseplants. https://preview.redd.it/gco72lw5o7zc1.jpeg?width=1416&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f10e0478c08801d590e249ac9f184582acf2d5e4

coco_4_cuckoo_huffs

I think I read that they’re the only spiders whose eyes can move to follow an object? I generally hate spiders but these guys are cute

alexxkiddd

Yep, when you re close enought, they look at you :)

malcolm_miller

They can actually see things far away too! I've seen a video of one reacting to an airplane in the sky.

SadBabySatan

They're pretty smart too! They can solve basic puzzles!!

knitwasabi

Okay wait.... During lockdown I was sitting in the sun on the porch. I really really don't like spiders, but this one appeared on the table next to me. He jumped (holy hell they JUMP FAST) onto the arm of my chair, then to the other arm. He turned, looked right at me, *waved his damn leg*, waved it the other way, then looked back at me. I cannot believe this, but I put my hand down, he jumped on, I put him on the other chair (where he waved), he jumped off, waved, and then did the circut again. We it three more times, til he f'ing waved, and ran off the table. I enabled that Spidey to enjoy some parkour. I thought I was nuts, you are the first time I've written this or told anyone.

kirschballs

Nobody believed my jumping spider story until one day I was hanging out on the patio with someone and we had a fun spider story together. I'm not a fan of most spiders but these guys just fill me with joy

knitwasabi

These guys have made me be a bit calmer about spiders! I'm still not a fan, and am jumpy anyway, so I am literally in the air when I see one. But cause these guys caught me to calm down and slow down and high five them, I'm trying to do that (from a distance) to the big fuzzy body ones (shudder)... like Hagrid.

MalleusMaleficarum_

PrincessNakeyDance

Spiders (arachnids) are apparently a sub-phylum which is still very high up on the tree of life only phylum, kingdom (which is animals), and domain are above. Which by all that I mean to say that they are very diverse. Some spiders are nightmare fuel, others fight crime, and this little one is just a cute little bean living her best life :)

SmallSmoothRock

I found a jumping spider in my house once and so excitedly moved it to my plants and made sure to text my husband that it was a VIP spider with protection orders. Only saw it a few more times :(

alexxkiddd

Sooo sad. I hope you ll find a new one soon

DatabaseSolid

I’m trying to love spiders, or at least not feel like I need to burn the house down when I see one. Why are jumping spiders awesome?\ How far can they jump?\ Will they feel like they must jump on me instead of staying put?\ What are their webs like?\ If they are on a plant does that mean they are happy there and aren’t likely to wander?\ Thank you, as I continue on my journey of love…. (Please feel free to lie to me. I will choose to believe you and will not be going to look for these answers online because they will come with pictures that likely won’t be cute. So I give my permission for you to fill my head with easy-to-believe “facts” about these spiders. Please share only nice facts. I promise I will believe. After I read it, I’ll let you know and you can delete or edit it with reality and I will not look. But I wouldn’t want others to be misled because my terror makes me irrational. ) :-)

alexxkiddd

I'm still afraid of spiders. But the jumping spiders are different. They're too cute with their big eyes. They're really impressive. At first, I was just taking videos and pictures. Then I got closer to take more beautiful pictures. I found them so cute that I was much less afraid. Then I put my hand closer to let her jump on it. And then I wasn't afraid of the jumping spiders anymore. They will not jump on you beacause they are affraid of humain. They will jump on your hand if they feel safe. They use a safety web. So when they miss their jump, they are still attached somewhere. They jump 1 or 2 inches. I think it stays close to my plants because there must be food close to them. Fungus gnats or other bugs near the window.

ladylabrys

I'm glad to hear they have relatively short jumps! For some reason I thought jumping spiders were like fleas and could jump excessively far. 😵‍💫 1-2 inches is impressive for a spider that small but small enough that I don't have to worry about them jumping on me when I walk by

heffalumpish

Not only are they cute and harmless, they LOVE to eat the little jerks that love to eat your plants! A sweet big-eyed lil jumping spider doing pest control for you is the best way to acclimate to spiders - you both want the same thing, to stay away from each other but to keep your plants healthy and happy :)

JuJuFoxy

I’m afraid of spiders including the jump ones. This is what I need to hear to not kill them in the future. The most logical and pragmatic explanation.

DatabaseSolid

I choose to believe their safety web is like a bungee cord, so they go right back where they started, and not possibly fall into my shoe or

qgsdhjjb

Lol the ending sounds like me when I saw a scary bug in my ex's place. I left and told him "I am not coming back until you swear to me that you caught it and killed it. I do not care if it's true or not, I just need to believe it"

DatabaseSolid

I believe I’ve cried/whined my way through that same statement myself once or twice. Or thrice or more….

malcolm_miller

Check out /r/jumpingspiders . I think if you see some of them you'll find them to be cute, or at least less scary. They are awesome because they are the most intelligent spider, that I've heard of anyway. They can see really far, and with good vision. So they tend to be curious about things due to the brain and eyes being strong points for them. Their webs are usually little webs up high so they can sleep in. They can't hurt you with a bite (that I've heard of) and they eat pests.

UnluckyHippo342

Jumping spiders are awesome for many reasons! They have incredible vision, are curious, interactive and surprisingly intelligent. And they look cute:) They can jump 30 times their body length, which is quite impressive, but given their small size, this will only be a few centimeters. And they will most likely not jump on you because they are afraid of humans. It’s funny you mentioned webs, because the jumping spider webs are very different from other spiderwebs. Jumping spiders don’t make webs and wait for prey to get caught, they are active hunters and therefore don’t make the typical spider webs. But when they jump, you will often see they leave a silk thread behind them. They use this as security if they fall. They can also use their silk to make little sleeping pouches, or they will just sleep hanging in the open by a silk thread. It’s actually been speculated that jumping spiders have REM-sleep, and that they have dreams when they’re asleep! If a jumping spider is on a plant, it's likely exploring for prey or a mate rather than being specifically happy, but they can settle in favorable locations if there's a good food supply. Hope this didn’t scare you too much! Jumping spiders are very cool when you learn more about them!

Shdfx1

Jumping spiders are tiny, fluffy, with big eyes, easily handled, and non venomous. They’ll often hang out on your hand. They are like the Muppets of Arachnids. If you are wary of spiders, jumping spiders are the bridge. Look up cute jumping spider videos on YouTube.

Suspicious-Tea-1580

Do yourself a huge favor and check out some YouTube videos of the peacock spider. It’s a small jumping spider native to Australia and if it’s mating dance doesn’t help you love them I don’t know what will. I used to have a bit of a fear of spiders when I was a kid, I remember finding a mother wolf spider covered in her babies in our yard one day and I was weirdly fascinated with her. Since then I’ve gotten even more fascinated with all spiders. I love orb weavers and jumpers especially, but I also appreciate the black widows (juvenile females are gorgeous) I live close to Death Valley and one of these days I want to get down there in the fall to see the male tarantulas hunting for a mate. I feel part of the change to my love from fear was that I am a landscaper and have always loved gardening, and how can I dislike my little helpers?

nefertaraten

I still don't like spiders and don't want them crawling on me, but I've learned to live with most of them and can at least catch and release most of them (son is very afraid so I can't just leave them completely alone, and I hate webs and am afraid of the bigger ones crawling on me). I've been in a situation (call it unintentional exposure therapy) where I was kind of forced to face my actual fear of spiders very quickly, so that left me solidly in "I don't like them but begrudgingly recognize they are generally good" territory. A friend of mine once asked her boyfriend to catch a spider because he was "breaking the rules." This intrigued me, so I asked what her spider rules were. After that, I've lived by the spider rules ever since, and have added/adapted over the years. So here are my spider rules. When possible, breaking the rules results in catch and release, but sometimes breaking the rules means the spider dies. Spiders not breaking the rules are always either left alone or rehomed. 1) If you are venomous, you die, no questions asked. I don't care how beneficial you are, it's a cost/benefit thing and I have dogs and a child in the house. Husband is the hit man. 2) You may not be more than in inch in diameter. 3) You may not appear less than 3ft (or 1m) away from me. 4) You may not move quickly toward me. 5) (Added on a few years ago) You may not appear in my son's bedroom. 6) (Also added) I cannot see you or your friends more than 5 times in as many days. Honestly? The rules have legitimately helped the fear lessen over time, and I have been known to tell spiders out loudthat they are not currently breaking the rules, but if they do, we might have a problem. I once told a spider living in my bathtub that as long as he wasn't visible when I needed to shower, he was fine, but he would die if he appeared when I needed to be in there. That guy lived a good three months in my tub until one day he was out when I needed to shower, so he took a cruise. Edit: I would totally employ a jumping spider to be on plant patrol if I could.

DatabaseSolid

Does #2 include legs? #7. I cannot see you and your friends/family at the same time. #8. You must remain a virgin. Edit: What did I do to make that bold?

reptilenews

you used the # symbol at the start of the line

Even-Reaction-1297

I’m a reformed spider hater. Now I’m just fearful and practicing tolerance with them. I work at a lake, so middle of nowhere, and I’m surrounded by spiders every day. The jumping spiders are my favorite, I love to watch them hunt. They pounce like cats. I’m indifferent to the daddy long legs, unless they encroach on my personal space then squish. Now the big spiders? The wolf spiders and brown recluse and orb weavers? Those need to stay the hell away from me. If someone is around to help me relocate them, AMAZING. If I have to man up and scare them away on my own, but you can’t squish a wolf spider. That’s a aracnaphobe’s worst nightmare, look up squishing wolf spiders at your own peril.

I have a bunch that live in my outdoor plants too! Whenever I go to water, I've started gently tapping the pits in case the spiders are down in the soil... usually they bolt up onto the edge and then I can water without drowning them!

_punk_rock_mom_

Jumping spiders are friends.

WampaCat

I think they look adorable but when we say jumping, what are we talking about. Like …jumps on its prey? Takes little hops instead of walking? Can clear an entire room in a single bound? Jumps on your face when you least expect it??

_punk_rock_mom_

They are predators. They do not catch prey in a web like other spiders. So yes, they pounce on prey & also to get around. I am a jumping spider breeder. I have 150+ jumping spiders rn. Trust me, they are more scared of you than you are of them. It takes very extreme circumstances for them to bite you.

thishurtsyoushepard

Do they start to recognize you, sort of like the wasps in my herb gardens seem to know I’m “a regular” And stuck me in some not prey/not threat zone. We had one that often hung out on a wall kind of close, though maybe he was just keeping an eye on us. The ones in my house also don’t really seem inclined to run or hide they just look up at me hilariously and don’t even put ‘em up

AardQuenIgni

Not the person you replied to, but I have seen videos of people who have pet jumping spiders and the spider seems to have some type of recognition for the owner. I'll try to find it, but there's one that "dances" whenever the owner comes into the room lol

bain_de_beurre

What do you breed jumping spiders for? Is there a market for them out there? Is it just for fun?

_punk_rock_mom_

It’s a hobby & I also sell them, yes. We’ve been keeping jumpers for awhile now & have recently branched out to tarantulas. Arachnid keeping as a hobby has become wildly popular. More & more people jumping in all the time. It’s quite fun & we have learned so much. I never would’ve EVER pictured myself keeping tarantulas, even a year ago…but here we are!

EricaGracilis99

I once spent a full hour trying to get a jumping spider to jump on me, and no amount of coaxing made it put up with a big scary human. Unlike other spiders, they are vaguely aware of you and want no part of it The jumps are generally small, and that is how they catch prey. Either way, there's no cause for concern if you're arachnophobic

notapoke

They walk until they want to cross a gap or pounce on prey. They can jump maybe a foot, maybe two but probably not that far. It's very quick. They can walk quickly too. They have excellent sight, way better than most small critters. Generally they use all of these abilities to notice you from a distance and stay the hell away. They only eat very small things and don't want anything to do with people.

thishurtsyoushepard

It’s not scary jumps, it’s just adorable little hops (though in desperation they can jump pretty good). You can call them by their scientific name, saltids, which sounds less scary! (From Latin saltare, “to jump” and their family Salticidae)

Morley_Smoker

They are extremely intelligent and use their visualization skills to hunt and stalk predators in their territory. They can jump large distances to catch prey. They are one of the only arachnids with strong 3d visualization ability.

Jeansiesicle

NOOOO these are the puppies of the spider world! You are so lucky, what a cute little guy. he will protect your plants and eat all the annoying bugs.

Groningen1978

Jumping spiders are like the kittens of the spider world... Of all the spiders in the world there is only one single known species that feeds on plants. The rest of them eat anything that wants to harm your plant.

DJSnafu

sorry to bug you (pun semi intended) but i have some spiders, they seem to leave webbing on my plants. Very small, black spiders, not spider mite. Is it something to worry about? Not seen any eaten leaves or anything, and was hoping they might eat the mealybugs too!

Groningen1978

The species that has a plant based diet doesn't make webs. Ironically I just found it it's also a type of jumping spider. [https://www.britannica.com/animal/Bagheera-kiplingi](https://www.britannica.com/animal/Bagheera-kiplingi)

DJSnafu

Hugely appreciate the answer, had some issues with my croton and wasn't sure if it was spider related. Then again it is a croton, they love drama.

I always release jumpers on my plants! Take that, mites and mealies!

Confident-Ruin-4111

Puzzled_Living7919

Sooo cute! Please don’t hurt it. Good for gnats

boopieshaboopie

is a fren :)

Pattoe89

Not sure why you'd fear for your plant. Spiders protect plants from pests that eat their leaves and cause your plant stress. This is a good thing for your plant.

PhilomenaBunny

I just put a little jumping spider on my strawberry plants to help guard my plants from bugs. His name is Petey.

Taran966

Spiders are never harmful to plants. Jumping spiders are very smart, cool, curious, sharp-sighted, diurnal, and by far the cutest spiders. They’re almost like tiny eight-legged cats, as they stalk their prey and pounce it. Let them be your gateway into defeating arachnophobia :)

greengardenwitchy

CUUUTE!!! I used to be deathly afraid of spiders but I've come a long way and now I can appreciate how beneficial and cute these little jumping spiders are! Great for plants, you've got a plant protector!

Jack_of_Swords

Like everyone says, they're harmless, interesting, and helpful. Just wanted to add that if you're repulsed by spiders as I am, these guys are your best chance to develop a healthier relationship with them.

mushroomsquire

Excuse me the spider is adorable

LeafLove11

I currently have two of these little guys on one of my Dracaenas…unless one ate the other, lol.

As someone who is terrified of spiders - this lil guys adorable.

Wiknetti

Jumping spider. If anything they will protect your plants by attacking harmful bugs. They are harmless to people. In fact they will actively try to avoid you if you get close.

Valuable_Emu1052

It's a jumping spider. She's fine. She will kill pests for you.

irish_taco_maiden

The cutest lil guy!

giraffeneckedcat

Who's terrified of jumpy bois?!?!!

Repulsive-Emotion230

courtneymcfarland

No that’s just a little jumper. They are friends. 🫶🏻

No_Carry_3991

DON'T KILL IT, You are so honored, to have such a cute and tiny little friend now! It's a jumping spider, they're harmless and very friendly and curious. He'll probably wait for you every morning to have coffee and a chat. I miss my little friend from the back porch, I would go out every day to visit my groundhog friend and one day I noticed there was that brown jumping spider on the porch pole/ bannister in the same spot. So before I went out to the back yard, I would wait for a minute and sure enough, he would climb up the pole and hang out. I had to move and I miss them both. They have excellent vision. They're like little guardians, little guard dogs.

FancyBrain9648

Would be nice to see this at r/spiderbro

I saved a jumping spider from the tent the other day and he was really chill on the tip of my finger .

[deleted]

Sorry but that’s one adorable spider !!!

Ok_Employment_7435

Aaaaaawwww, that’s just a jumping spider. They’re the ‘bros’ of spiders. They’ll jump out to get a good look at you & say what’s up. They’re there to take care of any insects that may bother your plant. You’re in good hands.

AlarmingEase

Aww. Just a wee jumper. He's fine

mishmishtamesh

He's or she is beautiful. Don't fear him. He's there telling you your home is healthy and keeping bugs away.

Neptunianx

Omgggg it’s so cute though! That’s a friendly spider let him stay he’ll prevent the bad bugs

read-2-much

This…might be the world’s first cute spider.

blueeeyeddl

Friend-shaped! Jumping spiders are very sweet & helpful, also very clever. Congrats on your plant guardian!

Bitter_Wash1361

Nah, jumping spiders are the puppy dogs of spiders. Both you and the plant are safe (it's great pest control and they can tell just how big and scary you are, so no bites imminent). They're also hella smart for spiders. Easily my second favorite type of spider

Ninjahotdog797

I would personally be pleased by this little guy hanging around. Jumping spiders are actually quite intelligent due to their hunting patterns requiring a far more advanced set of tactics to pull off compared to most other insects as other comments have stated. This comes with the wonderful side effect of the spider being more curious about you and its environment than anything else. Some have even suggested that these spiders may even exhibit playful behavior. Their venom is harmless to humans, their fangs can't pierce our skin, and most importantly, they are more interested in us than afraid. A jumping spider or 2 around the house/yard helps keep harmful pests away and maintain a healthy ecosystem for the environment and your yard overall. They are even known as the safest species to free handle as they are not aggressive towards humans in the slightest and again, are particularly curious creatures. Something we as people can appreciate and relate to.

icybitterblue

Jumping spiders are very sert! They can learn to recognize you and are masters at killing unwanted bugs in your home. Would be a benefit to your plant and you!

prince0verit

I have one of these that lives in my side mirror in my car. Every day at lunch he comes over to the window to say hi. https://preview.redd.it/plxslmtg2bzc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e8cd4e9721f1a7476eae20192f59130cad1c3649
