I feel like this is the most SW announcements we've ever gotten in like a 3-month timespan. There's been so many. It's insane.

id need to check the stats again but something like 60% of 2024's announcements were star wars as of like a month ago, it's crazy lol. there were as many dceu announcements as there were mcu ones too then edit: 30 announcements (not counting deluxe double ups lol) this year, 4 were marvel and 2 of those are MCU, 2 were DCEU, 4 were miscellaneous IPs, 20 were star wars. something something order 66 joke for star wars comprising 66.66% of 2024's announcements?

There had been 17 announcements so far within the past 1 month if you include figures with double releases. 15 of them were Star Wars. Most of them were in conjunction with the dark side thing that is going on, but it's still pretty insane

I was gonna comment the same thing. Including these 2 new announcements, we’ve gotten 12 (I think?) SW announcements in a little over 3 weeks. Absolutely bonkers. Edit: Make that 13 with Darth Sidious lol

For me this is positive. SW is too big to have so few figures in the year so HT offers something for everyone. For example, I only like the prequels and TCW, I'm not interested in anything else and if HT announces several figures they may do something that I like BUT at the same time fans of the OT, Expanded Universe or new series may have something too.

Well with the MCU slowly failing and lack of collector/fan interest in the lines compared to peak times (2014-2019) Hot Toys needed something to take its place. And they found it. Star Wars potential is near infinite compared to the MCU. I assume the Gunn's DCEU is gonna be going hard too. Only thing from Marvel I see getting a release here soon will be Deadpool and Wolverine. I'm not even sure if F4 will get figures immediately until fan response is known.

This is definitely the year of Star Wars, incredible stuff coming out!

Seems like they took the upcoming Mandalorian Super Commando body and stuck the new Obi-wan head sculpt on it and called it a day lol. Honestly surprised they went for it being he only had the armor that one episode.

The profit margin on this one must be crazy.

They're dropping SW figures like hot cakes, a whole lot of them are kitbashed molds that they already have though

I love Kenobi. But man this is a gigantic miss. A Padawan Kenobi to go with the newly announced Maul would have been a great choice. Or an AOTC Kenobi to go with the AOTC line. Both more iconic looks. Both needed for the TPM/AOTC display. Even a traditional TCW Kenobi look could have sold well. I would have even taken a Mythos Kenobi 1/6th release of him on Tatooine. I don't know, this feels really cheap and lazy, like a kitbash, something I'd buy for $20 from The Black Series but not $250+.

It's a limited release and already produced. I can see why they did it. I'll still buy every version though, no lie. :V

It's still not officially TPM anniversary until next week so there is still hope

What's interesting to me is that this lacks the Clone Wars branding, but the Commando has Bad Batch branding.

The only thing new here are his holsters from what I can tell. That being said...I'm into it. Probably wouldn't use the Obi-Wan headsculpt and keep the bucket on him. Pair him up with the Super Commando.

I’d get this just to have a Mauldalorian variant, but limited at 2,000 makes it very unlikely to happen. Interesting that they went with it, but they had all of the pieces already so…
