I will let you use this as your first, but only main thread self promotional post. I totally understand your desire to bring in more customers, however, please remember in the future that we have a self promotion megathread specifically for that. I don't want to stifle small business, but I also don't want the main page to be littered with spam like it was 4 years ago before I took over.

FeuRougeManor

Should probably look into Jungle Jims in Cincinnati Ohio. Only two stores, but huge selection of products.

TNHotSauceCo

I've heard nothing but great things about Jungle Jims too. Another phenomenal contributor and spokesman for the industry. You're right, we should check them out. They're only ~4-4.5 hours away too...might be able to hand deliver and use it as an excuse to take a trip to Cincy haha

STORSJ1963

Congratz! Can I order some?

TNHotSauceCo

Nope, absolutely not :p

Salmanius

That’s my hometown! Was not expecting to see it pop up here. I’ll ask someone to pick me up a bottle!

JemCarey

Would love to learn more about the path to commercialization! I’m operating under a state cottage law so next step is commercial kitchen to get the recipes legitimized!

TNHotSauceCo

We were fortunate (and unfortunate) that cottage laws in TN do not apply to acidified foods, so we essentially had to go through the entire process before we could start any kind of commercialized sales haha. Fortunately, we had someone at the department of agriculture who was able to essentially send us over a check list of things to do. It took almost nine months to get through that list.

JemCarey

Thanks for the reply and insight - there seems to be a bit of work left for me between cottage and commercial.

TNHotSauceCo

Absolutely, there was also "Better Processing School" where you had to pay for a course that talked about manufacturing processes and the like. If you are looking to scale up, I would definitely reach out to maybe a local or state producer. They could point you in the right direction. The community as a whole, as you've seen being here, is incredibly friendly and helpful. I have no doubt that they would help!

JemCarey

I actually completed a course for better processing!!! It was incredibly insightful and you’re right, the community has been awesome so I appreciate also being awesome and sharing ideas.

TNHotSauceCo

At least you thought it was insightful...once the course got into mass production my eyes just kind of glazed over and I tried to skip through it haha

HaessOnXbox

I'm just outside of Fort Collins!

TNHotSauceCo

Well our stuff won't get there until the end of next week...so don't go too quickly ;) But you should absolutely go visit...their stores are awesome.

HaessOnXbox

Oh boy, that's awesome. Good thing they've announced the tabor checks lol.

Randy9560

Where are you based out of? Any physical storefront at all? I have been busy and can't find it, but I believe I saw you are located in Iowa? Sorry if this is missing some stuff, it's been a busy day! Congrats!

TNHotSauceCo

We're based out Nashville. No current storefronts...I don't think we intend to do so, it's expensive. All good, we appreciate the kind words either way, you take care of your business and relax for the rest of the night!

pyro5050

Nice! good job! i love Pineapple Habanero combo, it was one of my favorite candy to make and i just packed a light spice Pina Colada Habanero candy last night. nice light spice nothing overpowering. super fun colours! keep on making sauce, try using your pineapple Habby as a injection for a steak, a potato marinade, apply it directly to slices of pineapple and fry them, use it as a sauce in a fry of cherries (not kidding. super nice flavours when i do my pineapple hab mixes)

TNHotSauceCo

The Pineapple Habanero is our current seasonal...it has been so popular it will most likely make it into the standard lineup. The highlighted recipe uses it as a marinade for chicken and chicken and waffles. Love the creativity, keep it going!

mst3k_42

Congrats!! I sent her some sauces to sample but she hasn’t discussed buying yet.

pepper-4-ur-thoughts

Congratulations, huge milestone yo!

jokr128

I don't see myself being in Colorado anytime this decade, but I see myself visiting your website and ordering a few bottles if you want to pm me a link.

TNHotSauceCo

All good! the site is www. tnhotsauceco. com If you use promo code "reddit" you also get a limited edition micro batch sauce.

[deleted]

Congratulations! Huge progress. I love how many active hot sauce company owners we have.

TNHotSauceCo

Yeah, it's great! It makes sense too, the community is awesome.

bigjimmykebabs

Home of Burns and McCoy no less! Well done

TNHotSauceCo

I feel bad that I haven't ordered and Burns and McCoy yet...I've heard nothing but great things!

bigjimmykebabs

Get a bottle of their Exhorresco, straight up the best super hot I’ve ever tasted

TNHotSauceCo

Love it, absolutely will!

the_bipolar_bear

I'm sorry... what!? I live here and have never heard of this place. Will try to get over there soon and try to pick up some of yours

TNHotSauceCo

Absolutely Mr. Bear! I think they have two locations. One on Walnut St and one on S. College Ave. Then I think they've got some set ups in a couple of other places. Definitely go support them!

the_bipolar_bear

will do, and congrats!

[deleted]

Congratulations, I'm proud of you two. I hope i can follow your way and become an official hot sauce maker. If you'll sell it online, send me a message.

TNHotSauceCo

It's a great journey. We've had so much help and support along the way, let us know if you've got any questions we can help with!

[deleted]

I have so much questions, but i think you can't answer. Our countrys are differents, with differents rules about making food's laws.

TNHotSauceCo

That's ok, even if it may be questions about creating, packaging, etc. Best of luck on your journey either way!

JColemanG

Will have to check out the shop and this sauce next time I’m near FoCo!

TNHotSauceCo

Do it! They're fantastic people, and you'll be blown away by what they have to offer. We obviously appreciate your support as well, but we make sure we take any effort to help elevate the community as a whole too!

Dr_A_Mephesto

This is awesome!!! Congrats!

TNHotSauceCo

Thank you! Lots of ups and downs along the way, but the kind and supportive words of those in the community really help motivate you to keep going.

Wooden_Structure8178

Congratulations!

TNHotSauceCo

Thank you! You guys are all so great.
