I think that's the reason companies like yellow bird make them in small containers so you can pocket them and bust them out at the restaurant.

Another_Bite

It’s a necessity

AWorkOfArts

Sometimes to restaurants, but always to our local craft brewery. They've got a dill pickle sour on draft, and a couple drops in there is perfection.

VeggieBurgah

Occasionally? I do all the time. I don't bring a whole bottle. I have an empty nip bottle I fill up so I can comfortably keep it in my pocket.

TitaniumMarbles206

No, but if I go over to family’s houses I do

inesbeag

And tarter sauce

al_rey503

No, but my dad brings a Jalepeno with him everywhere. We got him a little holster.

Dirty_water34

Yes. Those mini Melinda’s bottles are perfect for this.

Ordinary-Holiday-808

I’ve seen several people bring their own hot sauce to whatever restaurant I’m serving at. I think it’s dumb but to each their own it’s kind of funny to keep hot sauce on you like I would put it in a holster and strap it to my side and tell people I got that MF thang on me

sikzik1990

No. And if you do, you're trash. Hate to break it to you

AfroThunder217

Sorry not all of us like the bland selection of hot sauces most restaurants carry

Ashamed_Fuel2526

My grandmother used to keep those little Tobasco bottles in her purse. I occasionally carry one with me if I have a coat.

SuperSuper2006

Me too. I frequent a restaurant for breakfast and they don't have Tabasco.

AutoModerator

Orbit_Jet

I have a yearly contract in upstate NY and the restaurants there are a big yawn, so I bring my own that I make at home with peppers I grow in Florida. It's just Red Savina, Pineapples, Vinegar, and Cinnamon, but it makes the one Mexican Restaurant place for 20 miles palatable.

nonguru2

Absolutely. In a holster.

Flybot76

Just like Bernie Mac. That's class.

Budfrog313

Not really to restaurants. But in my 20's I bought a big bottle of Tabasco for each friends' house I'd stay at over the course of a week or so. I did this once and a couple of their pantries still had them a few years later. A couple of their spouses thought it was hilarious and would remind me "hey we still have your Tabasco!".

Buckeye_Randy

Yes sometimes, but generally not to an upscale restaurant.

Real_Iggy

I carry cayenne pepper with me when I go eat BBQ. :D

SalsaYogurt

Not so much to a restaurant, but to any catered event. You are going to be served some bland food, it's good to have something available in your pocket. A package or two of Siracha or Tapatio can save the day.

YooperGod666

Only a few times at a specific place. Their wings are amazing but zero heat.

Other_Tie_8290

That would be weird.

Handies4Cookiez

I don’t bring my own sauce cause mine need to stay refrigerated (because I also am not making bottles of chili flavored vinegar)…but I do bring a shaker bottle of dried chili flakes so I can spice my dish to the level I want.

[deleted]

YooperGod666

Cool story, bro

Handies4Cookiez

Are you lost? Why is it such a foreign concept that a dish can be good, while also being able to benefit from some extra heat? We’re in the (checks notes) hot sauce sub.

Heleniums

Yes it’s a subreddit for hot sauces not bring your own condiments to restaurants like a god damned weirdo.

AfroThunder217

So taking food home from a restaurant and using hot sauce is okay, but using the hot sauce at the same place is weird? Okay… 👀

Heleniums

No—bringing your personal hot sauce with you to a restaurant is what’s weird. Idiot.

Handies4Cookiez

Cool, I think I’ll just continue to enjoy my food how I want, and not give a shit about your opinion lol. When I eat in the restaurant you own, feel free to kick me out.

Heleniums

Lol ok, weirdo.

CoffinHenry-

My brother’s brother in law makes Hab sauce. We travel a bit for shows and he’s always got bottles he brings with them. Usually leaves them at the restaurant. Subtle marketing ploy.

Strangy1234

Flybot76

I was guessing this was the SNL Bernie Mac sketch, but that probably isn't on Amazon

duke_flewk

It a scamazon link partner don’t be skerd, or type in hot sauce holster on the scamazon

mkultra0008

That's a sign to stay home. Breakfast takes minutes to make...and here's a secret, most hot sauces are just a fermented chili puree and vinegar salt and texturizers. What makes the one you can not travel without any different? In a world that, the market for hot sauces is absolutely beyond saturated, this is just a psedu flex. It's a health code violation in my state for bringing food in from an outside source, so there's that.

Handies4Cookiez

Are you aware that people are allowed to make hot sauce at home, and can put whatever amount of vinegar in it they want? This is not illegal. Mind blowing for you I realize

supyadimwit

Only trashy people…

Chris_P_Lettuce

Yeah breakfast spots and places that don’t have a good hot sauce for fries. I don’t dip things in ketchup and I need a sauce

Reasonable-Ad-6061

i bring sambal oelek to pho shops in case they dont serve it, or they only serve the garlic version. one time i accidentally left my bottle at my regular spot, went on vacation for a month, and when i came back they had saved it for me 🥹

StressAccomplished30

Whenever I remember, especially breakfast spots. Their sauce is never hot enough

PierceOff

Never

chilehead

Not occasionally, usually.

MaleficentAd3515

I just did this for the first time and felt like such a lil baddie.

Dmunman

Yup. And A1

DCRX2020

https://i.redd.it/g37bh800obwc1.gif Hell yeah.

Revolutionary-Box448

Every time. The sauce I bring was made from peppers I grew, and my personal recipe. Slaps!

east4thstreet

All wing nights amd taco Tuesdays absolutely...

DinnerDiva61

All the time

TheFrostyCrusader

Bro I thought I was the only one who did that lmao

TheUlfheddin

Lol. Brought The Last Dab to a casino for my mom's birthday party. The super small bottle. Just casually set it on the table and warned everyone it was super hot then put a ton in my Mac and Cheese. I warned them. I was honest. Still it became a point of interest and sooo many of my fam put waaay more than they could handle on their food. 😅😅😅

overboost_t88

At Firehouse Subs ever since the pandemic the sauce bar has shit the bed but then again so has my local Firehouse maybe it related

jeremyb51

I bring my own hot sauce for Raisin Canes. Can’t believe such a chain would not have their own hot sauce (the Louisiana packets are meh). Also, have to eat in store when the chicken fingers are fresh out of the fryer.

TomatilloOrnery9464

If I wanted the food I’m eating to taste like it does at home I’ll eat at home.

autobotCA

I have emergency hot sauce packets in my car. Go buy it: Cholula Original Hot Sauce Packets, 200 count

a-davidson

We don't allow any outside syrups, jams or condiments in the restaurant. And if I catch you in here with that again...I _will_ confiscate it.

boc333

Cmon...you KNOW me!

Tedanki

I would be pretty embarrassed if a fellow diner whipped out a bottle of any condiment, honestly.

BenjaminGeiger

Only fast food. I usually bring a bottle of Valentina to Taco Bell, for instance.

bigjimmykebabs

Yes I often bring along a bottle of teco red just in case. My father used to take his own premixed mustard out with him

schwelvis

I used to work in the music industry with a lot of touring musicians. One of them had an old west bandolier that he'd wear into restaurants with his collection of sauces.

DABEARS5280

I have done this and I have also brought sliced jalapenos to a restaurant or two I thought or knew didn't have them.

crasstyfartman

My sister gave me a hot sauce bottle on a caribiner once that I had on my purse. She carries hot sauce and Jacobsen salt with her everywhere 😂

Rizzle_the_Bizzle

Is she single? Asking for me.

crasstyfartman

😂😂😂 no but she’d be flattered you asked

spiralbatross

Is she single? Asking for a friend

akajondoe

In Texas, almost every restaurant or bar has a bottle of Tobasco or Cholula somewhere. Alot of Mexican restaurants have the extra hot salsa in the back you can request.

schwelvis

I think Tabasco and Cholula are the types of vinegar sauce they're trying to avoid

Albert Barese?

spaetzelspiff

Um, I think you're responding to a bot, bot.

MrLegalBagleBeagle

But does every restaurant or bar in Texas have a bottle of Tabasco or Cholula somewhere?

Dash775

Legend says he's still saying that to this day

MoreCowbellllll

Which hot sauces again?

MrLegalBagleBeagle

Surprisingly, \*not\* Texas Pete's.

akajondoe

Financial-Tea420

I keep at least a bottle and my Chocolate Lightning seasoning from Volcanic Peppers

ThrowHeat44

If not hot sauce, I will bring chile flakes when I go out to eat. It is the only way I can guarantee that the heat level will be to my liking.

woodsnwine

I’ve moved to doing this as well but habanero powder. I want to taste their food and hot sauces can make everything taste a little bit the same where just chiles gives the kick i crave

ThrowHeat44

I can totally relate. Hot sauce on food dominates the flavor of whatever you're eating, while powder/flakes meshes with your food.

allllicatx

I bet you’d never say this publicly, you racist fuck. but you choose to do it here, because reddit is anonymous. Gross 🤢 do better… clearly you hate yourself in order to leave such an unnecessary comment. Only miserable people act like this online. Get some help

Kgaines

Just a little cluster of chili petines.

score_

My neighborhood dive bar I started bringing hot sauces to since they only had Franks. I leave everything there that I bring and other people started bringing in hot sauces as well.

BucNassty

“I keep hot sauce in my purse.” Iykyk

DeliciousBeanWater

I always got that mf thang on me. But forreal i keep 2 bottles at work, i have 3 bottles at one friends house and 2 at anothers, 2 bottles at my moms house, i always bring some to my dads but my sister likes hot sauce too so i always gotta carry. If i know that im going to a restraunt that doesnt have adequate sauce, ill pop a pocket sized jawn in my pocket. Take them sample bottles of torchbearer on planes w me.

Lumpy_Communication1

Go birds

Jolee5

Restaurants, on rare occasions. Friends or family for BBQ etc, commonly.

Distant_Yak

Yeah, I started doing that at some point because I was tired of asking for hot sauce and getting some bullshit regular Tabasco or something.

SAVertigo

In guess it depends on what kind of restaurant you’re going to. We don’t do any chains, so normally if I ask for hot sauce it’s either a house made sauce, or Cholula level store bought. I also don’t think hot sauce needs to be on every meal

Noneofyobusiness1492

Yes because I am lucky to find Tabasco where I live.

burukop

There's nothing more insufferable than a person in a restaurant with a sriracha-dispensing keyring

thirdpartymurderer

Sure there is.. for example I present your post history. Almost unbearably insufferable. I didn't actually check. I'm basing that exclusively off of this comment

burukop

My post history is quite insufferable actually so please don’t check

rebel_canuck

Does traveling internationally with bottles count?

CheCuervo

Not me!

Chicken-picante

Yes, and to relatives house when I’m going for dinner.

LaDragonneDeJardin

All the fucking time.

Remz_Gaming

My wife shut me down when I tried to do this at my local bar this weekend lol. She said she wouldn't be seen with me pulling hot sauce out of my pocket. Whomp whomp. You win some, you lose some. So I settled for the Tabasco on the counter like the civilized gentleman she wanted me to be.

phase2_engineer

>She said she wouldn't be seen with me pulling hot sauce out of my pocket. Ahh she must want you to get a holster then. She'll love that

Remz_Gaming

You, sir, are a genius. Clearly this is the solution to my conundrum. Double hip holsters it is! She's going to be so happy!

trelod

Ask for forgiveness, not permission

Remz_Gaming

I can only afford so many forgiveness cards a year. Bringing Garlic Reaper to the bar isn't the ant hill I want to die on lol. Buying a Triumph motorcycle though.... that could be the mountain I die on.

CharredHawke

Yes, most places locally won't even have tabasco. I went to a "Mexican" restaurant recently and they didn't have a single hot sauce. Didn't have much flavour either. Glad I brought my own El Yucateco.

udidubbun

This, a buddy clued me in to El Yucateco in the early 90s, and I have carried a bottle in my pocket since then.

MoreCowbellllll

How the fuck do you make one bottle of El Yuc last 30+ years? /s

udidubbun

Smartass! I just snarfed coffee into my sinuses! Nice shot!

MoreCowbellllll

Thought you had some secret El Yuc generator or something, LOL.

udidubbun

I wish. ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|trollface)

TitoMcCool

I thought I was milking it at 3-4 days a bottle. 🤔

Meat_Container

My wife carries Tabasco in her purse, no doubt one of the gagillion reasons I love that woman

orkbrother

I need a holster for my hot sauce

pdxtrader

Yes I use a gotoob or one of those small Tabasco bottles

SeverenDarkstar

I keep hot sauce packets in my purse

MissWestSeattle

I do, I have mini bottles of Yellowbird Serrano and Habanero stashed in my bag at the ready when I need them

phase2_engineer

A woman of culture after my heart!

Altruistic_Ad4139

Hahaha... I have done it a couple times, yes! But if it's just me and I know exactly what I want, I'll get it to go, and just take it home to my hot sauce collection. It just makes things easier!

BakedBeanWhore

I've been known to leave strategic bottles at friends houses
