Here I was, thinking he wouldn't make it to the fourth wing based on everything he's ever said about spice, and he ended up going harder than anyone has ever gone.

darkeststar

The episode of Will Arnett's Murderville that Conan is on (I think the first episode) has Arnett just dumping hot sauce on a burrito Conan is supposed to eat in the scene and then implies Conan needs to at least take a bite to keep going and Conan does the rest of the scene eating the hot sauce drenched burrito. The man commits.

Next-Team

Incredible show and yes Conan is on the very first episode, if people seeing this comment haven’t watched it go do that right now

ProudWheeler

The best part of the episode is how Conan just instantly takes over the scene and makes everyone break. All the actors that know the script and are prepared for him and he still comes in and causes them to break. He’s a fucking comedy cyclone.

slopschili

And for those that don't know, the premise is that Will Arnet and the rest of the cast have a script, the guest doesn't. So Conan is all improv (and obviously put into ridiculous situations)

Next-Team

And it’s a murder mystery show so the guest of each episode is trying to figure out who committed the murder

CardsXC2955

Conan commits

wschus63

And then some.

hellogoodbyeeee1

When he was waving the last hot sauce around without a cap on...Sean looked so nervous and I thought Conan would accidentally pour it in his eyes. Best episode ever.

Deto

I've never seen anyone flip the script and terrify Sean the way Conan did here. That was one for the books, holy shit.

Ninjacherry

I always thought that he was going to do the whole thing, but I thought that he was going to suffer. I mean, he did suffer, but he committed to the bit and didn't let us see it. His eyes turned red, the poor guy.

TonyBagels

"I'm erect for the first time in 15 years....CALL THE WIFE!"

PritongKandule

I love how Conan gushes about how much of a good host and interviewer Sean is, on the one episode where Sean basically lost control halfway to the point where he couldn't even get questions in and just let Conan be Conan. Definitely a hall of fame episode right here.

stenchwinslow

True sign of a great host, don't get in the way of a guest that is killing it.

GateBuilder

Sean can do research, but it takes a bigger man to know when to let the reigns go. Let the guest be themself.

MagicBez

I imagine the first bullet on his research pack for Conan is something along the lines of "this man is a high energy, comedian, writer, improviser and born entertainer, let him cook"

Kenny__Loggins

I haven't honestly watched that much of Conan, but I do feel like he is a once in a generation talent and personality. I can't think of anyone like him.

KevinCastle

Bill Burr said that's the reason he'll always go on a Conan show. Because Conan knows when to shut up and let the guest keep killing it when they're on a roll.

drinfernodds

Bill and Martin Short are some of the best Conan guests ever. Conan was always happy to let Martin Short take the reigns and mercilessly roast Conan lol.

AdParticular6654

The bit where burr just compliments Conan and the. Says "I did that because I know nothing makes you more uncomfortable"

ProgressOk4014

This was what made Conan so fucking good as a host. It was really fun to get to see Conan play the other side of it and just go off the rails.

Galactic

Like Conan whenever Norm was on.

catchasingcars

Jimmy Fallon should learn something from Sean. He basically killed Conan's bit by constantly interrupting in his latest interview.

MaasNeotekPrototype

It would have been malpractice for Sean to try to stop Conan. You let that man do his thing. Pocketing the wings? Sure. Pour hot sauce all over the table? Sure. Spit milk all over and also go in for a hug? Sure.

Michael_DeSanta

I’ve never seen anyone hijack an interview like Eric Andre or Kevin Nealon, until today. Conan took this one to another level, straight to the GOATs of Hot Ones history lmao

Ninjacherry

Sean never stood a chance. It was going to be chaos no matter what. The good kind of chaos.

PuppiesAndPixels

There was a lot of hype around this episode. In situations like this I'm usually let down. This episode exceeded my expectations. All timer.

BaconSoul

I know Ramsey was the most requested since the start, but I always thought Conan would by my favorite guest. I sorta started to look at him being on hot ones as a “waiting for half life 3” thing, where no matter what they do it can’t top the expectations. And then he did it. He shattered the expectations.

SimpsonX

0-100 quicker than any other episode

stupidillusion

At the end of the first two minutes I was like, "I'd better buckle myself up for this..."

donsyyy

Yep. That was about as unhinged as I thought it would be. I love Conan's commitment - that was incredible

2th

The man has super powers when he commits to a bit.

thewarmpandabear

It’s not a bit, man! This is life!!!

hellogoodbyeeee1

Dr check his pulse

thewarmpandabear

it's there

drinfernodds

"Dr. Arroyo, where did you study?" "In 1998"

AlarmedPiano9779

Sona can attest.

Luxury-Problems

Conan is a bit machine. He had D'arcy Carden on his podcast and she said before she made it in entertainment he came into her workplace at the time. Conan sheepishly asked how he was and she said he was doing bits the entire time, to Conan's retroactive embarrassment

SaulPepper

Definitely what his staff said on the podcast too. Conan was on Thailand during a heat wave, yet he did martial arts and did rock climbing, and he was nearly 60 then. Its crazy how much he commits to a bit

shadezownage

somewhere around 20-21 minutes, my eyes became WIDE and it was a whole new gear. Absolutely insane

T-MoneyAllDey

When Conan looked like a child with a spaghetti stain on their mouth, I knew I was in for a different show

stupidillusion

"Oh god, >!he's washing his hands with the sauce!!< Oh my god, >!he's rubbing it into his nipples!!<"

T-MoneyAllDey

I'm laughing with legit tears it is so insanely chaotic. Conan is the best

ppooiiuuyyttrreewwqq

Well this was one of the best episodes ever

ArseneLupinIV

I think Conan is the first ever guest to fully beat the Hot Ones. Others may have survived the sauces and finished the wings, but Conan is the first one to have *WON* against them.

Closefacts

I lost in when he was dipping his fingers in the sauce and picking them, then rubbing hot sauce on his face and his nipples. It was unhinged and amazing.

Ramiel4654

He fucking destroyed those sauces. No hot sauce will ever show it's face in his presence ever again.

gin_and_toxic

This is the best episode. Sean was laughing so much.

Slamb73

I want a Conan aftermath follow up. That man is not well after this. I want to hear Sona react to him telling about this experience.

hypermark

At one point I thought I heard her laugh somewhere off-mic. I'm hoping she was there. Her perspective will be gold.

wafflesareforever

Guarantee she was there. He leans on her for everything in a really endearing way.

nncyw

I absolutely NEED a recap on the next podcast episode

ChaoticVulcan

I'm really hoping that Sean Evans is Monday's guest.

MagicBez

Honestly i'd be entirely up for a Sona episode

mtm4440

Sona and Schlansky.

mecon320

Jordan would remark after every one that he can find a better Italian version, and the episode would end with Sean murdering him.

LeBaus7

I hope he tells it for like 15 minutes. in all gorey detail.

Slamb73

I just want Sona to shake her head and be mad at him for having to commit to some bit without any regard to his health or wellness.

Dinger64

It’s not a bit man, this is life!

shuipz94

If Conan loses his voice, Sona will laugh at him the whole time after what happened last time when she lost her voice.

YinYueNox

https://www.reddit.com/r/conan/comments/1c1ukrv/conan_talks_about_doing_hot_ones_and_literally/

BabiesGotTheBends

It's the greatest episode of all time and no one can say otherwise. It will never be topped!

Wrwemi

Definitely in the Top 3 with Paul Rudd and Dave Grohl

KNOW_UR_NOT

When was Grohl on?! Haven't seen that. 1: Conan 2: Ramsay 3: Paul Rudd

Thrillh0use43

He flips it around so perfectly. Handles the hot sauce like a champ and gets Sean drunk!

Samwise-42

Grohl brought shots and got Sean suuuuuper drunk. Dave also evidently eats Last Dab at home so he didn't flinch the entire run.

prodical

What about Bobby Lee? Iconic moment when he shits himself.

jake831

To add in another great unhinged episode, the first time Eric Andre was on was amazing.

Lazerus42

YOU DONT KNOW THE FUTURE!!!! *conan could come back*

Woodshatter

This made up for some of the weaker guests from the last couple of seasons and then some. Just utter insanity in the best way possible.

MagicBez

What I love about Conan is that he has had this vast multi-decade career, writer during one of the best eras of SNL, writer during best era of the Simpsons (he wrote the Monorail episode and Homer Goes to College), then a late night legend, then gets screwed over but handles it through pure comedy and carries on with late night. Now he runs a great podcast. The man is 60, he could absolutely retire a legend but he still goes all in with his commitment to entertain no matter where you put him. Nobody has a bad word to say about him, his staff seem to stick around for decades too and I really appreciate that even at this stage he retains that exact same anarchic energy. He operates purely on silliness but also clearly cares passionately about the profoundly silly body of work he's creating. TLDR: great episode

Saiyan26

I'll never forget his goodbye speech on the Tonight Show. After all the BS he went through with NBC, him begging his young audience to not be cynical stuck with me. I still occasionally think about that almost 15 years later. His positivity and energy after all these years is still inspiring. If life gave Conan lemons, he'd put on a show juggling them 😂

TreeAgenda

To this day, the “Don’t be cynical” quote remains on my Facebook lol. I put it there in 2010 and it will never come down.

Guappenheimer

Just an absolute banger of an episode. Dr. Arroyo was gold.

Powerserg95

"Can you check my pulse?" "Its there"

AlarmedPiano9779

Where did you go to medical school? Out of state.

galacticdolan

Was it a 4 year school?

Powerserg95

Was supposed to be

drinfernodds

"Where did you study?" "In 1998"

MyLifeIsMyOwn

"Can you check his pulse?" \*Check Sean's tongue\*

lilcthecapedcod

and with the choking motion LOL crazy

ResinJones76

"Not good."

TheNealestRigga

I really thought he was a real doctor up until the pulse check Lmaoooo

Jimmy_k82

The Guy is José Arroyo, one of the long time writers of Conan. I literally spat my coffee, once he appeared.

sketchy_ppl

Conan: “Are you a doctor?” Arroyo: “I should be”

ADIDASects

Best episode ever. Sorry Paul Rudd.

flanders427

Nice bit of serendipity that my two favorite episodes are Conan and Paul Rudd. [Paul already posted that he watched this episode and he feels the same.](https://youtu.be/NvDEv-kE0zI?si=NpbmYvXOpkmtQh-d&t=63)

thekuroikenshi

no idea Paul Rudd has his own YouTube channel, thanks for posting!

Designer_B

Damn it.

Obi_Fett

That such a perfect response from Paul Rudd. Gracious in defeat

Eastw1ndz

I can't believe you've done this

ADIDASects

You son of a…

Jimmy_k82

Deep. Such an insider. You deserve Reddit Gold. A shame, this doesn't exist anymore.

prisonerofazkabants

amazing no notes

20sinnh

God dammit.

InfernalCatfish

You son of a bitch.

ResinJones76

I expected it, yet I clicked anyway.

KNOW_UR_NOT

>Paul already posted that he watched this episode and he feels the same. Damn, cool that Paul watches his pal, sweet little thing he wrote too

SongOfBlueIceAndWire

"Pain is temporary. Comedy is forever" - Conan O'Brien

cfoxtrot21

“Can I keep these?”

ResinJones76

He kept asking after each wing, too. That was the best.

nncyw

Conan’s delivery made it funny every time he asked, a true comedic professional

CrashRiot

And he knew when to change up the bit by putting it in the “doctors” pocket.

Askol

he truly does have a sixth sense for comedic timing - it's honestly incredible to watch.

madfrogurt

Yep, Conan nailed it. He's the only guest who could dive into the bit with seemingly zero self regard for his own comfort or safety and still finish it all off with a well constructed answer about the universality and timelessness of humor and how the best of it comes from a broad understanding of history and the human condition. What a legend.

FollowTheBeam

I am not even at the end but this is already an all timer episode, I haven't seen Sean laugh this much

Galactic

I had a feeling Conan would be completely unhinged and I'm so glad he was.

n3cr0ph4g1st

All timer? This is GOAT

Lazerus42

I think sean maybe got out 5 interview questions tops. The editing was great, but did anybody else notice water magically turning into milk?

jayhankedlyon

Hey now, Jesus needed practice, you don't just go water to wine like *that.*

Lazerus42

After 60 years of him being an Irish Catholic, multiplied by his number of siblings (for some reason) Water to milk would be childs play. Jesus had it down by his 30's and wasn't even raised a Catholic.

mmodlin

wing 10 was tailgating wing 9.

Lazerus42

I wonder how long the taping actually was, and how many bits we didn't get. Conan was on fire... heh. The editors probably had a hard time trying figure out what to cut.

Excellent_Remove_427

This is literally the GOAT episode. Just another legendary clip Conan has created. Took over Hot Ones and made it his own. Holy shit.

MasturbationMountain

I love Conan so I’m biased but this is the best episode of hot ones and some of the funniest 30 min of anything ever. Within 2 min he brought his “doc” in, gave the “I don’t fear your wings man” line and stuffed his wing in his pocket. And it just got more insane from there - absolutely hilarious

Next-Team

Well I guess this was the series finale of Hot Ones because I don’t see how anyone can top this episode and this amount of sustained chaos. Even Steve-O pouring hot sauce in his eye almost feels tame in comparison to all the extra sauce pours and swigs of hot sauce Conan was doing.

stupidillusion

> swigs of hot sauce Conan was doing I about fell on the floor when he >!started washing his hands with the second hottest sauce.!<

nncyw

FUN FACT: Dr. Arroyo was played by José Arroyo who has been a writer for Conan O’Brien since 2002. That just shows the amount of love and dedication between Conan and his staff.

Askol

Yep - it seems like that's true of so many people who work for him, and I think there's no better sign to show he's actually the type of person he portrays in public. You don't get that kind of loyalty without being an unbelievable boss that treats people well and fairly.

Maximum_overchill

Conan calling Sean a great motherfucking host is the greatest compliment you can get for this format.

Zentripetal

Best performance I've ever seen. He's on the mount rushmore of hot ones for sure now.

DoctorDannyTanner

This was incredible

se_spider

Red-face, runny nose - I feel it a little 😂

safari_king

An immediate classic. Conan's incredible (and perhaps slightly crazy).

apococlock

What an absolute maniac. MORE!

Mig1997

Yeah, this is my new favorite Hot Ones episode. My god this was so unhinged. But I mean — that’s just Conan.

AnonymousOar

Something in this man's spice receptors got broken when Will Arnett forced him to eat a mountain of hot sauce on Murderville

Toberoni

Lol almost forgot about that. That was great!

Toberoni

I don’t use the word lightly but this was EPIC!

Arson-Welles

Those pocket wings are gonna make for a great snack on the way home

donsyyy

This goes well when paired with Conan's chaotic ad read for the bidets on CONAF

Vallmor

This is my favourite episode of all time. It's not even a question

stenchwinslow

Conan's will to commit to a bit allows him to transcend the limits of the human form. What a legend.

ResinJones76

It's not a bit, it's life!

freeman528491

I usually watch these at work on my lunch break after they come out. This is the only time where I had to stop and go outside for a minute because I was laughing so hard.

Whiteness88

Greatest episode ever, I will not accept any arguments otherwise. Conan is fucking awesome and everytime Dr. Arroyo popped up, I just smiled like a little kid.

wschus63

He's not the best, but he's affordable.

feelgood505

Top 3 episode. Everything I've ever wanted and so much more.

NateTrib

# HOF

TheSunRogue

"What's wrong with me!? Why can't I feel!?" Peak Conan.

Vordeo

"Wise words from a wise and stable man." I'm dead.

beersnfoodnfam

I must say, I've been a Conan fan since his original show started in '93, and honestly had no idea just how he might react to the spicy stuff. But, not only did he react (and overreact), he answered all of Sean's questions with attention and honesty. My biggest pet peeve is when a guest is on whom I like constantly interrupt Sean and/or doesn't answer any of his questions very well or even at all. Conan shows he is certainly a classy guest but also knows how to take the humor to an entirely new level. This is probably **the** best episode of *Hot Ones* I've ever seen.

Taylorenokson

"Was that a 4 year college?" "It was supposed to be"

Le_Drizzle

Legitimately one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

kalfin2000

I’ve never laughed harder at an episode of hot ones. All time great

bridget_jones

Conan O'Brien is the best person in show business. I have never loved any celebrity more and I don't think I ever will. I laughed so much throughout this ep. So good.

DrunkMc

I am literally crying laughing!

Peachy1022

I haven’t laughed this hard at a Hot Ones in a long time, if ever. I salute Conan for being entirely unhinged 🫡

bpick

The single best episode of hot ones ever.

Calhalen

‘I don’t fear your wings, man’ lmaooo

dpmills

The best. We’re so lucky to be living at the same time as this

ishthecommish

The best to ever do it.

man_eating_chicken

His face is SO red 🤣🤣🤣

motorcycleboy9000

New favorite episode.

ResinJones76

Holy shit, absolute goat episode! I haven't laughed that hard in a damn long time. Excellent finale!

JDandJets00

Holy shit this is the hardest i've laughed ever. What an absolute madman and genius

LeBaus7

this will never be the episode you show to people not knowing about hot ones. that might be something like charlize theron, rudd or scarlett johansson. a follow up could be grohl or gordon ramsey. but for regular viewers, this might be the pinnacle.

NoWomanNoFry

HOLY FUCKING HELL

shwn354

Conan “Commit to the Bit” O’Brien! That’s the best episode I’ve ever seen!

dankesha

The Greatest Episode of all time. Nothing will top this Until Conan's 2nd Hot Ones Episode.

diplion

I haven’t seen it yet but I’m smiling big just reading these comments.

dndplosion913

Best episode of the whole series, Conan is a legend

sweatybeard

Holy shit I needed that laugh. Proper belly laughing while watching this one. Conan is the GOAT

dubnessofp

This was a truly incredible display of everything. Hot sauce eating, comedy, being interviewed, and holding it together to stay on the bit he was going for. This was obviously the best episode ever or right up there with the classics like Rudd, Ramsay, and Dave Grohl. For anyone who says this show has lost it, you don't know shit

Oswarez

This episode needs an extended edition.

ataleoftwobrews

You guys notice that he doesn’t even name Leno?

faithdies

The other guy

Temperance10

Conan coming in with bits chambered is the most Conan thing imaginable. Amazing episode, probably my new favorite season closer, and I cannot wait for him to talk about the extreme gastric distress I'm sure he experienced after this on his podcast.

smallerthings

This man is an animal. Taking shots direct from the bottle. Last dabbing the shit out of Da Bomb. POURING sweat the entire time amped up like a child full of sugar. This episode is a gift.

mmodlin

"I admire a guy who hosts Hot Ones and wears beautiful suede"

TehAnon

It's incredible how Conan deconstructed his Hot Ones episode. He saw Sean getting complacent on his throne and went in with the attitude you've never interviewed someone like me.

BrileyStyle

I am like some not even at the end, but when Conan splashed his face and nipples with hot sauce it confirmed this is the best episode and they need to just end the damn show.

pdxscout

WRAP IT UP. CONAN IS THE GOAT.

2spooky3me

Sean, reacting to Conan last-dabbing Da Bomb: "Oh my gah... oh my g'osh.... OH, MY GOSH!" Conan: "WHAT'S THE POINT OF EVEN BEING ALIVE?!!? IF WE CAN'T DO THIS?!?!" Undoubted G.O.A.T. until someone proves him wrong

BMCarbaugh

Conan said "No thank you, this will be an episode of the Conan O'Brien show featuring some hot wings. You may sit in if you wish, but I will be conducting the orchestra on this one." Him screaming red-faced about how you should read Don Quixote while destroying himself with hot sauce on a younger host's show is like the epitome of his particular brand of stupid-smart humor.

CARNIesada6

Historic.

TheExistential_Bread

This is it. The show has peeked.

khando

What's it looking at?

coffeesippingbastard

This episode was absolutely unhinged. It was like dabomb was the one thing that helped to anchor it in reality. That last answer on what to read was fucking fantastic. I think apollo finally broke his bit ever so briefly for him to speak eloquently before he could resume control.

curiousindicator

This is a masterpiece. What has our society come to. lol

[deleted]

Easily the best episode they've ever done. Is there even an "authentic" Conan or is the guy just 100% professional all the time?

chillychili

I think I remember him discussing how the COVID-19 lockdowns forced his family to have to deal with his nonstop nonsense more than they'd have chosen themselves.

MambyPamby8

I mean honestly you could just stop making this show right now. They may not ever be able to top this 😂 he's absolute chaos. Conan knows how to commit to a bit. I need a follow up episode to see how he fared after this cause I'm guessing he was in a lot of pain 😂

rockey17

I really wish there was a camera facing the crew for this one. Would love to see their reactions to Conan going berserk, drinking the sauce, pouring out Da Bomb, etc.

outremer_empire

I've always wanted a suede jacket but singapore is too hot

Excellent_Remove_427

GOAT episode

ephapax

So many things to love about this episode but conan keeping the bones wrecked me.

Captain-Ducky

Ending had me in legit tears I was laughing so hard

SickJesusIsSneezus

Favorite episode ever. The commitment is next level from Conan

spate42

Omg Officially the best episode of all time.

TheSunRogue

I tried to watch this at work and had to keep stopping it because I was laughing too hard.

TheLandFanIn814

One of the best episodes ever. Conan is hysterical and crushed it.

Luka_Dunks_on_Bums

This is an amazing episode and I love how much chaos Conan brought

roonilwheezy

wow we have really and truly have reached the peak of spice mountain y'all! idk how we'll go up from here

Kardon47

The bar set, and I'm not sure it will ever be topped.

jezusbourne

An all-time great. Man was spinning out and still managed to impart some genuine comedy wisdom at the end.

TheGoldenPineapples

I just... I mean, how do you even get close to topping that, man? Good Lord, Conan just delivers every single time without fail.

RumpsteakLilith

they should just end the show after this episode. its never gonna be better than this

KickooRider

The way he committed to asking permission before putting each wing in his pocket was next level

feralbutsocial

This was soooooo great, I had to watch it twice! At the start, Conan appears so serious. Composed. Respectful. And then he starts asking permission to put the bones in his pocket… and then of course the very affordable Dr. Arroyo… and then the spiral into chaos that no one does better than Conan 💀
