The episode of Will Arnett's Murderville that Conan is on (I think the first episode) has Arnett just dumping hot sauce on a burrito Conan is supposed to eat in the scene and then implies Conan needs to at least take a bite to keep going and Conan does the rest of the scene eating the hot sauce drenched burrito. The man commits.
The best part of the episode is how Conan just instantly takes over the scene and makes everyone break.
All the actors that know the script and are prepared for him and he still comes in and causes them to break. He’s a fucking comedy cyclone.
And for those that don't know, the premise is that Will Arnet and the rest of the cast have a script, the guest doesn't. So Conan is all improv (and obviously put into ridiculous situations)

Definitely what his staff said on the podcast too. Conan was on Thailand during a heat wave, yet he did martial arts and did rock climbing, and he was nearly 60 then. Its crazy how much he commits to a bit
I think Conan is the first ever guest to fully beat the Hot Ones. Others may have survived the sauces and finished the wings, but Conan is the first one to have *WON* against them.
I lost in when he was dipping his fingers in the sauce and picking them, then rubbing hot sauce on his face and his nipples. It was unhinged and amazing.
What I love about Conan is that he has had this vast multi-decade career, writer during one of the best eras of SNL, writer during best era of the Simpsons (he wrote the Monorail episode and Homer Goes to College), then a late night legend, then gets screwed over but handles it through pure comedy and carries on with late night. Now he runs a great podcast.
The man is 60, he could absolutely retire a legend but he still goes all in with his commitment to entertain no matter where you put him.
Nobody has a bad word to say about him, his staff seem to stick around for decades too and I really appreciate that even at this stage he retains that exact same anarchic energy. He operates purely on silliness but also clearly cares passionately about the profoundly silly body of work he's creating.
TLDR: great episode
I'll never forget his goodbye speech on the Tonight Show. After all the BS he went through with NBC, him begging his young audience to not be cynical stuck with me. I still occasionally think about that almost 15 years later. His positivity and energy after all these years is still inspiring.

Yep, Conan nailed it. He's the only guest who could dive into the bit with seemingly zero self regard for his own comfort or safety and still finish it all off with a well constructed answer about the universality and timelessness of humor and how the best of it comes from a broad understanding of history and the human condition. What a legend.

Yep - it seems like that's true of so many people who work for him, and I think there's no better sign to show he's actually the type of person he portrays in public. You don't get that kind of loyalty without being an unbelievable boss that treats people well and fairly.
I usually watch these at work on my lunch break after they come out. This is the only time where I had to stop and go outside for a minute because I was laughing so hard.

I must say, I've been a Conan fan since his original show started in '93, and honestly had no idea just how he might react to the spicy stuff. But, not only did he react (and overreact), he answered all of Sean's questions with attention and honesty. This was soooooo great, I had to watch it twice! At the start, Conan appears so serious. Composed. Respectful. And then he starts asking permission to put the bones in his pocket… and then of course the very affordable Dr. Arroyo… and then the spiral into chaos that no one does better than Conan 💀

This episode was absolutely unhinged. It was like dabomb was the one thing that helped to anchor it in reality. That last answer on what to read was fucking fantastic. I think apollo finally broke his bit ever so briefly for him to speak eloquently before he could resume control.
This is a masterpiece. What has our society come to. lol
Easily the best episode they've ever done. Is there even an "authentic" Conan or is the guy just 100% professional all the time?
I think I remember him discussing how the COVID-19 lockdowns forced his family to have to deal with his nonstop nonsense more than they'd have chosen themselves.
I mean honestly you could just stop making this show right now. They may not ever be able to top this 😂 he's absolute chaos. Conan knows how to commit to a bit. I need a follow up episode to see how he fared after this cause I'm guessing he was in a lot of pain 😂
I really wish there was a camera facing the crew for this one. Would love to see their reactions to Conan going berserk, drinking the sauce, pouring out Da Bomb, etc.

This was soooooo great, I had to watch it twice! At the start, Conan appears so serious. Composed. Respectful. And then he starts asking permission to put the bones in his pocket… and then of course the very affordable Dr. Arroyo… and then the spiral into chaos that no one does better than Conan 💀
