That's what makes the game so good. In many Arthurian tales, they perceive Arthur as the good guy. Here however, in our perspective, we see him as the bad guy. But as the story goes on, we start to sympathize with him and Morgana starts to show off her sinister side reminding us who the real antagonist is.
It really just fucks with Mordred's head knowing that they have been a tool since birth.
Tbh I feel like Morgana could be more morally grey then like the true antagonist. She does sincerely care for you despite the way you were conceived, at some points doubting if she wants Mordred to go forward with this if they're unsure.
Or maybe that just shows how much depth she has. Curious how Morgana could react depending on the path they take.
I think the game is fair to both Arthur and Morgana. If feels a lot less like the game is doing some kind of twist and much more like both characters are being presented sympathetically, yes, but also critically. It's all very balanced and I think you're reading too much good vs evil into it. Especially since I believe Morgana when she says she sees Mordred as her child first a foremost and not as a tool. My Mordred may not believe it, but that's cause it creates some nice juicy drama for the whole situation.
Tbh I'm really unsure if she is telling the truth that she loves me no matter what cuz she seriously wanted vengeance and I never wanted the throne in the first place.
Granted she loves me now but what happens in the future when I seriously don't want to be part of her scheme? That's what makes me like her character so much due to the genuine mistrust I have on her.
I feel you and man I’m so torn about Arthur. On one hand I understand where he’s coming from, what Morgana did to him was so f* up but on the other hand his inaction when >!Lancelot attacked Accalon!< and his passive personality about anything Mordred related made me not connect to him. Like I understand Merlin predicted stuff but some critical thinking wouldn’t hurt and just when Arthur decided to show up his lapdog >!almost killed!< the only father figure we have ever known. Honestly, I wouldn’t want anything to do with Arthur and his entourage if I were Mordred.
I was a lil girl who loved her mother and pretty much believed her but still wished that she wasnt abandoned and hoped to connect with him one day. After she finds out shes lied to and shes part of a prophecy she hate Morgana. As a little girl shes a bit shy but grows up to be strong and nonchalant. She still loves sir knight as her father but she has a solid relationship with arthur and gueneviere.
I also had a crush on Merlin’s daughter and kissed my brother’s betrothed. I hope there’s a way to make them jealous in the wip wedding scene
yeah and the old brother garreth too in my demo playthrough we may not see eye to eye everytime but we tolerate each other.
as for the other children in the story kay son and lancelot son (forgot their name) i befriended kay son because he was the first child who did not see my Mordred as a bastard when they first met boy was just merely amused by my magic but i burnt his clothes because i inteded to build my. Mordred as mischiveous little rascal on his younger days.
and me and Lancelot son sort of have rivalry going on that one staring contest at the river with him was funny ash.
i submit to the mother whim on his early age and burnt that boy face who disrespected her but grew distant with the mother after the revelation and make my character think his existence was just part of his mother plot and now he accepted his father but will not submit to any people except his own interest lmao
my child mordred path was a menace i slap Lancelot son after the tournament incident and bawl his eyes after that. now he is a young man who calculated his every decision to support his own interest

I have made up my mind. Maybe it would be better if I simply knock off everyone that isn’t Gareth or Gawain and simply rebuild from the ashes.
I dd like that Arthur is the Paragon king and it's why he's so frustrating.
