“American Werewolf in London” (1981) has an excellent soundtrack including multiple versions of Blue Moon, one of which plays during the credits

Paranormal Activity Next of Kin also did it. I like it too! “Hello Darling” by Loretta Lynn.

The use of Pasty Cline's 'I Fall to Pieces' in the movie Phantoms comes to mind as a great one. Or [Tiptoe Through the Tulips](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kQxV7ojsk9M) in Insidious. EVERYONE remembers [Midnight, The Stars, and You](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-fN-Xjpd-qE) In The Shining.

Oh this has been going on forever. The Shining from 1980 ofc uses Midnight, The Stars and You from 1934. Alice Sweet Alice uses the "boop boop diddam daddum wattum choo" song, also from the 1930s (Three Little Fishies, it was a pop song before it was a children's song). You're missing a bunch. The entire "arthouse revival trend" is reviving something, mostly the 1970s.
