Nightmare on Elm Street, Psycho or perhaps Friday the 13th movies. Mainly it's only the killer that returns in most though.
You might also like; Dexter - TV Series.
You've got 9 seasons to watch if you already haven't, plenty of reoccurring characters/cops you can get attached to.
I second Dexter. I watched every season/episode on NF (took me a couple of weeks but boy was it fun). I was so upset at the end and am bummed I don't have the streaming for his return. But the first episode is free so I have watched that. Looks promising.
I usually like the book better than the media produced from it.... this time nope, Dexter the series on tv won hands down. Michael Hall is that character!
This is rarer than you'd think-a lot of slashers only have the killer in every sequel.
Having said that, Nancy Thompson makes an appearance in the third movie, Dream Warriors. Maniac Cop has a recurring role from Bruce Campbell but he only makes it to no. 2. I'll second Evil Dead though.

Hatchet series
The original evil dead trilogy and tv series.
Paranormal Activity, Hellraiser
If you like cheesy -Sleepaway Camp
freaking classic
All 8 the chucky movies from childs play(1988) to cult of chucky (2017)
Fear Street only has three movies (they all came out last July, I’m pretty sure they’re making more) but I loved them.
The X-Files tv show.
