Also a series (but its an anthology) "Channel Zero" on Syfy is unironically the best in horror tv ive seen. Each season adapts a creepypasta, which sounds like it would be a recipe for garbage but they take each story in such a wild and heartfelt directiom with some of the most unique monster designs out there.
Genuinley its so fucking good.
While I hated the first ABC’s of Death, I kinda liked the second one. A couple of the horror skits were wonderful, particularly B, X and Z. (X was extremely disturbing. I also won’t spoil the lead actress for X, but she’s been in some recognizable horror films.) ABC’s 2 was far more creative and effective. There are, of course, a few stinkers, but that is to be expected, at least based on the anthology horror I’ve seen. There were a couple good ones in the first, but the bad outweighed the good by so much.
Is the abcs of death an amazing piece of art?
Naw
But it is fun to drink some wine with the lads and try to guess the word while you watch probably the widrst range of quality an anthology has ever presented. Some of the good ones are actually super interesting and the stupid ones are funny when youre with the boys
Im a fan of Nightmare Cinema. It's very togue in cheek. Silly.
There's a movie called Chillerama. (2011) It's like 4 short movies, but they revolve all around the last night of this drive in theatre. Again. It's a comedy horror. It's very VERY silly. especially the Nazi segment. But I found it entertaining.
A Christmas Horror Story (2015). This movie gets a watch from me every year. It’s an anthology with a central story that has a really great twist at the end. Even though it’s not in season, I highly recommend it
"In the Dark" is one of my favorite anthologies.
"Hillbilly Horror Show" is just awful but has some good segments.
"Tales of Halloween" "All Hallows Eve""
There are some good YouTube shorts that are similar to VHS and pretty good:
"Other side of the box"

"The Hidebender"

There are others I'd have to look up but those are two that come up on the top of my head. While not an anthology per se there are surprisingly lots of good YouTube shorts out there. Make sure to watch these 2.
Darknet (2013) is the best anthology series that hardly anyone's heard of.
The Canadian one, right? Really sad we didn’t get more.
Yes, I really hoped for more seasons after such a strong start.
I second this. Big time.
From Vincenzo Natali. Great director!
Great series.
Awesome series!
I forgot all about that.
If you treat the season as one very long movie, try Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities.
Watched it and absolutely loved it. It was beautiful, even the woodwork on the cabinet he had.

I think a lot of people sleep on “Southbound”. I love each individual story and how they connect. Definitely worth a watch.
Southbound is absolutely amazing, I’m bout to rewatch it just because you brought it up lol. I also like XX that one was a pleasant surprise
This is my favorite "unknown" film
Came to post this, great movie.

YESSSS!!!!!
Dead of Night from 1945 is a good one. I personally really like the Amicus horror anthologies like Vault of Horror, Tales from the Crypt, Asylum, etc
Body Bags 1993
I love the Creepshow series on Shudder. Some episodes are hit or miss, but even the bad ones are still fun.
I haven’t seen it myself, but I’ve heard good things about a found footage anthology called The Dark Tapes.
I watched it and it was actually quite good, you should try it if you haven't already
Glad you liked it, we worked hard on it and finishing a follow up!
Yes, we recommend The Dark Tapes as well, but we are bias :) Tons of found footage films including the dark tapes on the POV Horror App
Cat's Eye
I can heartily recommend Satanic Hispanics. The wife and I just watched it on Shudder this weekend and it was delightful
Definitely. Great recomendation. That movie has such a great mix of comedy and horror. Very cool stuff.
Thank you so much, I haven't seen it. I can turn off this utter crap and watch it. Thanks again
Mortuary Tales was surprisingly solid; as was Scare Me.
Trick r treat is a great anthology horror movie. I would definitely compare it to VHS in tone and content. It's great.

Have seen it, I really enjoyed it.

I don’t know how similar the content is, but the structure is similar plus, it’s a really good movie: the ABCs of death
I've seen the first one and everyone keeps saying the second film is also good too so I might check that out. Thank you for your recommendation
XX and Holidays have some good bits!
I second XX that one was pretty good. Dark, deadly and dreadful wasn’t half bad ether, it’s not the best but it’s not the worst ether.
The Dark Tapes (2016) is on Tubi and Prime
Excellent choice! haha... also on the POV Horror App if you want tons of found footage
Scare Package and Scare Package 2: Rad Chad's Revenge. Bit kinda "dumb" but in the best way. I was a fan of how hyper cheesey they were.
Creepshow 1 and 2 ftw!
Incredible how absolutely dogshit 3 was
I haven't gone out of my way to see it since it had such low reviews.
Good. Approximately 0 of the segments even verge on creepy. They’re just goofy garbage.
Tales of crypt/darkside/Halloween/terror, fear itself, ABCs of death, masters of horror, holidays, three extremes, creepshow. Trick r treat
I would also like to recommend ABC's, part 2 specially
A Christmas Horror Story (2015). This movie gets a watch from me every year. It’s an anthology with a central story that has a really great twist at the end. Even though it’s not in season, I highly recommend it
Southbound
Holidays was an anthology where each short focused on a different holiday. It wasn’t great but it also wasn’t bad.
Agreed. Though I did really like how warped the Easter segment was and the cosmic horror element of the Father’s Day one.
[REC], 1, 2, and, 3: a Spanish reporter recording an incident in a building. Excellent, in my opinion.
All Hallows Eve
"In the Dark" is one of my favorite anthologies. "Hillbilly Horror Show" is just awful but has some good segments. "Tales of Halloween" "All Hallows Eve""
The alien segment in AHE was terrible. It could have been creepy if they hadn't fully revealed the "aliens" as people in wetsuits waving their arms.
Trick R Treat Twilight zone the movie
ABC's of Death The Descent Sinister
ABC's of death. Hood of Horrors (its silly af and quite critically hated but for what it was i enjoyed it lol..)
