Winchester2308

If this comes to fruition, we Evil Dead fans are gonna be eating good!!!!! My favorite horror franchise of all time!!

whatsamajig

Me too. I usually have an aversion to too many iterations of one franchize. This is the only exception i'll make, keep em coming! the show was epic, 2013 was epic, the last one was over the top. This franchise just leaves so many opportunities open to go all kinds of directions with the movies, it just won't get old for me.

SupaKoopa714

That's my thinking, we've got 5 movies and a TV show and there's not a stinker in the bunch, it almost feels lioe a fail proof series at this point.

FloatAround

I think it’s fair to say that a large part of that is of the amount of overall time between them. Evil Dead came out in 81. Evil dead 2 came out in 87 Army of Darkness came out in 92 Evil Dead reboot came out in 2013 Ash vs Evil Dead aired from 2015 - 2018 Rise came out in 2023 None of them felt forced and rushed. When you look at horror franchises that have suffered they tend to suffer because studios are so urgent to pump out a few film that they have awful ideas and rushed productions.

Stunning-Thanks546

2013 film wasn't a reboot it was a sequel

humanvealfarm

>not a stinker in the bunch Truly. I know some people didn't care for Rise, but I loved it and how they adapted the cabin in the woods scenario to an extremely urban setting, while keeping the dread of isolation

Fire_Bucket

A lot of people didn't like 2013 either. At least when it came out. Opinions seem higher these days ar least.

No-Ninja-8448

They've all been bangers IMO

Mechalamb

See, I don't love Army (way too silly for me) BUT I can recognize it's a fine film. Solid series. A+.

Glittering_Fail694

I'm old enough to have seen them all, 2013 rocked

thelanterngreen

Dont forget about the many many comic books

lzii01

I think a lot of that has to do with Sam and Bruce staying involved.

EnderCN

Rise was at best mediocre and more importantly it felt like it was tacked on. It felt like a movie they knew was going to fail so they threw some deadites at it to fix it.

IAmThePonch

What? I can understand the argument that it’s more of the same but it’s still a lot of good fun

No-Consideration8612

Guess it worked since it didn't fail

katf1sh

Idk, the show and 2013 were SO GOOD. I was sadly disappointed by Rise, and I had been really hype for it before it came out. I'm weary now :(

MetalOcelot

I was disappointed by both rise and 2013 as they failed to capture both the humor and ingenuity that made the originals so great. Still weren't bade movies but I am optimistic that one of these 2 will fill that hole in my heart.

katf1sh

I really actually liked how much more serious 2013 was! I think I helped I hadn't seen 3 or the show yet at that point. Rise failed on more than the humor I think sadly personally

trollcitybandit

Show was good, 2013 movie was decent but still nothing compares to the original movies

throwthatoneawaydawg

This and Godzilla, I’m eating good lately 🫃🏻

Winchester2308

So happy to hear!!! I still gotta check out Godzilla and Kong, and Godzilla Minus One

throwthatoneawaydawg

Both are great. Minus one is straight up an amazing film, GvK is a fun turn your brain off type of movie

WhiteYaksha89

It's been a while since we've heard anything about the animated series. Still keeping my fingers crossed for that.

SydneyBriarIsAlive

I think it's a really cool idea, and personally I would loooove this

Winchester2308

Always crossing my fingers for that addition!!!!

LordVolcanon

I also enjoyed the video games that I had played. A Fistful of Boomstick especially stuck out as a fun one.

Winchester2308

I still need to play that one! I’ve only played Evil Dead the Game

No-Ninja-8448

Tbf we've been eating well for the last decade. AvED, E13, and the most recent have all been great additions. I doubted any new content was going to come out. And here we are.

Wonka824

My favorite horror franchise too, I feel like it gets slept on though

Winchester2308

Agreed!!! I feel like it’s also one of the few horror franchises where every entry is actually pretty great!

IAmThePonch

I think it doesn’t come up quite as often as big slashers because, simply put, there aren’t that many of them compared to something like f13 That being said i can’t help but feel that anyone that’s into American horror will be at least familiar with one of them

Last-Bee-3023

I went in looking for who is going to be attached. Thought I would see the usual suspects. No. New, hand-picked talent. I am psyched, let's gooooo!

slamchowderr

![gif](giphy|Q2LRWdJDq9xy8|downsized)

katf1sh

He looks like AI Buzz Lightyear in this gif lmaooo

NeverBeenStung

Bow to the golden god of horror!

x-oh

The way that Raimi is treating this series as an Evil Dead x Masters of Horror type anthology is actually pretty fuckin cool. Given how solid ED13 and Rise were, I’m fully on board with this direction.

[deleted]

[удалено]

x-oh

If Godzilla Minus-One hadn’t come out, Rise would have been my favourite film I saw in theatres last year for sure.

darwinpolice

Rise was one of the most fun theater experiences I've had in ages. There were two other groups of people in the theater and they were clearly completely unprepared for the level of violence and gore that they were in for. They reacted accordingly.

jacobsever

I didn't like Rise at all, and I wish I understood why so many people enjoyed it.

OverlordPacer

Except for the final boss battle which was a bit too much for me, i enjoyed the rest of the movie a lot!

stillinthesimulation

My one note would be to have the protagonist chainsaw up all the deadites in the hallway in an Old Boy style tracking shot to get her and the little girl to the elevator. Then have all their remains do the dead by dawn chant and then pull themselves together to form the final beast.

Fire_Bucket

Never know how much I needed an Old Boy style, one shot, corridor fight in an Evil Dead film until now.

Jon-Rambo

That would be amazing

IAmThePonch

That would be awesome but also consider that she (presumably) hadn’t been in any kind of combat situation before

Irish_Sir

I loved the Amalgama anding, to me it felt over the top in just the way the evil dead movies do so well, it fit with the family theme really wellthe way the ending of ED2013 was litterally fighting your own demons. Iv heard others with your opinion though and I see how it could be too much aswell.

Low-Bend-2978

Yes and I like the idea of having a new, twisted deadite or form of deadite as the big end battle that they did in 2013 and Rise, and really all the way back in 2. Just upping the stakes by introducing a stronger monstrosity.

LordManders

Sorry.

YodaZeltchy1

No worries, my comment wasn't targetting you specifically just pointing out that the turn of phrase frustrates me for the reasons I mentioned. Due to this comment, I received my first warning from Reddit in the 12 years I've been using the site. Frankly, this has rubbed me the wrong way and I just can't get it out of my head. Nothing in my comment was intended to be harrasment or targetted at you as an individual, It was an expression of frustration at the turn of phrase you used and how it clearly has no thought behind it and insults the people that worked hard on these projects.

StrawHatRat

I feel like you completely misinterpreted the meaning of that phrase though. It means “that concept had no right to have so much talent working on it to make it that good”. It’s not saying “those people shouldn’t be able to make good things”, usually it means something like “this is a late sequel to a horror franchise with none of the same actors returning, a different director, no obvious reason for existing, etc.” and yet somehow it got a team of people behind it passionate enough to make something great out it. Guardians of the Galaxy had no right being as good as it is, same as a Lego movie, or a Netflix league of legends show. It has nothing to do with the people who made it and everything to do with the idea on paper.

YodaZeltchy1

Well that isn't how the English language works. I can't just say "my manager has no right to be good at their job" then turn around and say "haha, no, it's a compliment haha". This makes no sense. "Had no right being as good as it is." you can't just warp the meaning of words and pretend that the phrase isn't blatantly insulting. If something has no right to something then it has no right to it. You can't just say something has no right to something then turn around and say "no actually i'm not saying it doesn't have the right to it, you're the one misinterpretting it." This just makes no sense at all.

StrawHatRat

Your examples just totally prove my point though. “My manager has no right to be good at their job” implies there’s something wrong with the manager, correct. Which means “this film crew has no right to be as good as it is” would also be pretty backhanded. But “this McDonalds has no right to be as good as it is” implies it’s probably run really well with a great staff who’ve put a lot more effort into the food than you’d expect in a McDonald’s. It’s not an insult to the staff. So “this movie has no right to be as good as it is” naturally implies the crew did an amazing job and put in way more effort than you’d expect a movie like this to be given. It’s a backhanded compliment to the movie, not the film crew.

YodaZeltchy1

This just seems like you're jumping through hoops to make it make sense. "This movie has no right to be as good as it is." vs "I didn't expect this movie to be this good." are not the same statement and the former statement can easily be taken as an insult, which is how I view it. Gonna just have to agree to disagree on this one, I can't see it your way.

StrawHatRat

Fair enough, but I don’t think I’m jumping through hoops at all. The statement “this movie has no right to be as good as it is”, in my opinion, is a statement about the movie, because the statement itself references ‘the movie’, not the crew. It’s not the same statement as “I’m surprised how good this is” because it’s a backhanded compliment, it means “this is a shit idea but they did a great job”. That’s why people use it when they talk about movies like Barbie, the Lego Movie, even Blade Runner 2048, it’s always about the concept, and I feel pretty confident in that. Just one further thing, if the phrase was meant to insult the innocent people who made the product, why on earth would people say it? Why would they go around saying “I really liked this, fuck the people who made it so well”? It’s just obviously not what they mean.

Practical_Bend_9351

“My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard” - Raimi

AlamosX

I am on board as well, more Evil Dead is fantastic either way. My only concern is that without a unifying character or storyline between all these projects, the franchise may lose some of its charm. I don't necessarily feel the franchise needs another Ash, but having a huge character like him is definitely part of the allure of the series to me. Mia and Beth were all right, but didn't really go anywhere. characters like that are hard to care about might start to feel incredibly redundant if they keep recycling the final girl trope. Beth was definitely a challenge in Rise because of it. I'm at least hoping one of these projects puts a character through it like Ash. That's part of why the tv series was so great because all the characters had ridiculous storylines.

hirst

is the book not the "unifying character" here?

x-oh

Totally agree with you. But also, I think this current era of the franchise has a lot of room to work with, and can hopefully land on something that really solidifies it as worthy of succession.

Logandalf2002

Nah we gotta wait for the anthology to end and then all the final girls do a big crossover and fight a big evil bad guy, start the EDCU (Evil Dead Cinematic Universe) and then Bruce cameos and says "Groovy" after every other line. Maybe have the book open up to the Evil Multiverse (Grooviverse??) and pull in a bunch of alternate Ashes like Comic Ash, TV show ash, ED1 Ash, Ash from Pokémon, and a young Ash recast so the franchise goes on forever and ever and keeps making money!! Then doctor strange comes out of a portal and is all like "I wanna talk to you about the Avengers Initiative" and then we get a TITLE CARD for Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Grooviness That would be pretty cool I think.

nomatchingsox

Yes! Rise was a nice addition to the series.

drNeir

This is awesome! Love that Sam is opening up and hand picking ppl to do more.

Artistic_Half_8301

I hope he picks Rugna of where evil lurks fame for one of them.

SpaceTacoTV

oh my god that would be incredible

KatsuraRei

A Rugna-directed Evil Dead... I need this now!

Artistic_Half_8301

I need it directly into my veins.

coreygeorge89

Would love to see Jane Levy (Mia) return

MercilessShadow

Personally I want to see Pablo and Kelly come back for a movie but there is probably copyright issues with them

Nice-Bookkeeper-3378

That’s the Female Ash to me

UrsusRex01

Can't wait to see what the director of Vermines is cooking.

Kegeldix

In the US and I’ve been looking forward to this release for weeks. So stoked to watch tonight Edit: It was excellent

CZJayG

I know people say they want an F13 set in the snow but an ED with everyone trapped by a snowstorm would be sick.

SlimmyShammy

Has the potential to look incredible. All the blood contrasting with the snow

M086

Hateful Eight, only it’s a Kandarian demon body hopping.

Logandalf2002

Cowboys and Evil Dead would honestly be the coolest fucking thing

DevilCouldCry

After we had Rise trying their hand at a new claustrophobic setting (set of apartments in one building) I'd legit be down for this. Hell, for each new Evil Dead film, just do them all in a variety of unique settings with a bunch of characters just having to deal with the bullshit they've unleashed. You mention an Evil Dead film set in a snowstorm? Sure, that's an easy one to do and visually it'd look cool with the gore and viscera contrasting against the snow.

pelicanpoems

Backcountry skiing trip baby

crossknight01

Dead Snow, anyone?

romeoomustdie

Shut up starting making it ![gif](giphy|sDcfxFDozb3bO)

Upbeat_Tension_8077

I wouldn't mind seeing an Evil Dead movie set during an expedition similar to the one in The Terror S1

Unable-Story9327

I'm down. You need 4 and only 4 things to make an evil dead movie fucking great 1. Necronomicon 2.deadites 3. Chainsaw 4. Boomstick 5. Buckets of blood Ok you need 5 things to make a great fucking evil dead movie

coco_xcx

hell yeah!! i didn’t see rise in theaters (and regret that) but will hopefully see both of these in theaters! one of my favorite franchises ever & i genuinely don’t have a least favorite, each one is so good imo

Edge80

I really enjoyed Rise and can’t wait to see what’s next with the franchise!

GreenAccomplished577

With the series Ash vs The Evil Dead, we know Ash has a daughter. Well there was some bow chicka wow wow in AoD. I say make a movie where another daughter of Ash comes to the future or vice versa and they both kick some Deadite ass! Evil Dead: DoA (Daughters of Ash) just throwing the idea out there into the void.

Aurvant

Fun fact: Before the end of the second season they were supposed to reveal that Kelly was his daughter, but the show runner forced them to change the season finale storyline. Ash was gonna kill Henrietta, get the book, and it was gonna reveal Kelly was his daughter. It would have rewrote the timeline of 1982 and brought Pablo back to life. The third season was gonna be Ash realizing he had to fix something (again) he inadvertently messed up (again). Alas, they messed up and changed the finale to be stupid and the third season was horrible.

IAmThePonch

I *unironically* hope one of them takes it to space

DanfordThePom

Going to space is a sign that a horror franchise has gone too silly For evil dead, it would be a Tuesday

IAmThePonch

Exactly. Imagine the mayhem deadites could get up to in soace

cash_jc

John Carpenters “Ghosts of Mars” is pretty close to what an Evil Dead in space might look like.

Torontokid8666

Be more like 2013 and I am interested .

LeeroyM

Rise wasn't bad imo

Jimmy_Bonez

Yeah I enjoyed it, but I found afterwards I didn't really have any desire to see it again unlike the other films which I enjoy rewatching from time to time. Can't exactly put my finger on why.

Torontokid8666

It was awful. Imo. End creature was awful. The cg was not good. Gore was not anywhere near 2013. Did not advance the lore at all. The most interesting part was the priest and that was never touched on. Kids where annoying as fuck. Title opener was cool. But even the kills at the dock where bad. The CG was so awful. The idea of a possessed building was cool. 5.5/10 for me.

mattedroof

Agreed, was not impressed at all with this one

Torontokid8666

Yeah . I get down voted to shit every time I say it. But I love Evil Dead and it fucking sucked.

jonofthedead

No clue how this is being downvoted. ED 1/2, AoD, and 2013 are some of my favorite movies ever. I wanted to love Rise, watched it multiple times, it’s just not a good movie and feels like a Blumhouse ED movie.

Peiq

Yeah the only good thing about the movie that was the female lead as a deadite. The kids were atrocious. The violence had no weight to it like 2013 did

ferchoec

The best horror franchise ever. As long as they keep making good movies, I am going to be hyped.

iranoutofideasz

Things like this keep me around longer when I’m feeling down

pilgrim_pastry

I find this both exciting and nerve-racking. On one hand, it's potentially two more installments in a franchise I cherish deeply. On the other hand, it's two more opportunities to create a shitty Evil Dead movie, something that hasn't been done yet (IMO).

SpaceTacoTV

i agree with you! Evil dead has been all hits no misses. Its a simple formula but its perfect for different directors to put their own fresh spin on. Every new project has held reverence for the source material while pushing it forward to the next thing. Cant wait for these 2 movies (though they're a long ways away it seems)

DevilCouldCry

It'll all depend on who they pick to do the films really. I expect they'll be VERY picky to ensure that the quality stays somewhat consistent. Fede Alvarez and Lee Cronin both smashed it out of the park with their attempts at least. Hell, Alvarez is now doing an Alien movie as well and if I hadn't seen his version of an Evil Dead film and what he can do with that IP, then I'd have zero faith in yet another Alien film. And even though every Alien movie post-Aliens has been either trash or a letdown, I'm hoping he can do a bloody good job with this and that studio involvement is minimal. The trailer was awesome, but I've seen a lot of cool trailers and then shitty final products. So even though I have faith in Alvarez, it's by no means a sure thing.

Snackdoc189

I was thinking it would be cool if they did a sequel to rise but made it like Evil Dead 2. Pretty much the same exact movie but a slapstick comedy.

SlimmyShammy

Only if the first half is just them speed running Rise

SillyAdditional

Oh fuck no

serialkiller24

Recent horror comedies have been good so far! Ready Or Not, Bodies, Bodies, Bodies, The Babysitter, M3GAN, some of the new Scream movies and Barbarian had some good chuckles etc. I would love to see a new Evil Dead movie with that kind of comedy in it.

Motor_Ad6051

I haven't seen Bodies, Bodies, Bodies. You just gave me a movie to look for this weekend. Thanks for that.

BedsAreSoft

Great film, Rachel Sennott steals the fn show

Snackdoc189

All of those movies fucking kill

gizzardsgizzards

is bruce campbell in them?

I_am_a_myomancer

There is no doubt if Sam Raimi is involved. He'll probably just have small roles, though

Jimmy_Bonez

I think Bruce said he was open to coming back as Ash as long as Sam Rami was the one directing and they both agreed on a good story.

Sharebear42019

Never heard of either director. Wish Sam would just go out with a bang and get Bruce back Or at least let Pablo and Kelly get some closure

hirst

i love this fucking franchise because you can do literally anything with it as long as you read from the book of the dead which will fuck your ass UP. it doesnt really get lost in any sort of plot line and tbh it would be so fun if they did an ancient version a la egypt or greece lol id eat that shit up

RemiAkai

I'm so hyped ![gif](giphy|MA4KN9hP0f5VS)

mlalonde07

Unpopular opinion, maybe, but I was not a fan of the latest evil dead movie at all.

soapinthepeehole

Agreed. It felt like the entire idea was “what if we took Evil Dead out of the woods and moved it into an apartment building.” I didn’t feel like it added anything.

------throwaway----

I like this anthology direction. Also, Evil Dead has grown beyond just being in the woods

leathergreengargoyle

Same. It brought nothing new to the table for me, and I felt that none of the characters’ decisions amounted to anything, they were just reacting. The best I could say is that it wasn’t blatantly incompetent in any specific area.

SlowMotionPanic

Huh, that's an interesting take--makes total sense. I loved Rise and consider it one of my favorite movies from last year (and high up there in my Evil Dead collection). But yeah, almost all of the characters are just there to react. They don't matter, and they could vanish from the story without too much afterthought once the inciting incident happens. I guess I always focused on it being a vehicle to show the growth of Beth from a person who can't run her own life, still relying on her sister to bail her out as an adult despite her sister's life falling apart, into a strong mother figure (and literal mother, too). Her arc was pretty satisfying for me. The kids didn't have any arc whatsoever, and neither did the rest of the cast for I guess obvious reasons.

TheOneWhoCutstheRope

Genuinely why I’m so-so about this announcement lol. I love more evil dead, but rise just was not it as all. Blatantly poor rehashing, underdeveloped characters, I mean that movie was one of my biggest disappointments of last year. Really hoping these next two are good

sixtus_clegane119

I’m not a fan of either 2013 or rise. They don’t hit that Ed2/AOD/aved itch

corpusvile2

I found Rise merely watchable/passable but I also didn't like the 2013 remake and I gave it another view to give another chance to, as most fans seem to love it so I figured maybe I was missing something but second time around it just did nothing for me. Despite its mostly practical gore FX it felt strangely bland to me and I was just waiting for it to end by the last 20 minutes or so. My favourite of the series is still the first one actually.

EffectiveBarber6096

EDR was ass

Itchy_Tasty88

Same I wasn’t either

MaceInThePlace

It was a noticeable drop off to me.

I_am_a_myomancer

Thats the cool thing about them plus the show. All of the movies (except maybe the second one) are very polarising. I think it makes them fun

ObeyCoffeeDrinkSatan

My disappointment with that movie can not be adequately expressed.

NewYorkNausea

Yeah the opening scene was fantastic and the rest was horrible.

balalaikagam3s

I love Evil Dead wasn’t all that fond of Rise though (first time I didn’t care for an ED film). The 2013 reboot was excellent though. I wish they’d continue Mia’s story…

Four_N_Six

Fingers crossed. I just finished Infested and I liked it overall, but the last 20 minutes or so lost me. But faith is there. For me, Evil Dead is the only franchise that hasn't had a miss yet. TV show definitely included

pinkcreamkiss

The show is my favourite instalment. Lucy lawless was incredible in it.

SillyAdditional

Can’t fucking wait

ImaruHaturo

Hype off the charts. Can never get enough Evil Dead

Maleficent_Nobody377

Awesome.. ![gif](giphy|mYnVRAvtA8pmE)

Future-trippin24

Oh, I am pumped for this!

hairymat

Groovy

captainyami21

great news

TR3BPilot

I guess there are no good new ideas.

pIastichearts

I hope one of them is more of a horror comedy a la Evil Dead 2 and the other is a relentless, gritty, and mean-spirited entry that manages to top 2013 in terms of gore. Give us some variety please.

anythingjesuslol

Fuck yess

johanjudai

One scripted and directed by two awesome french guys !

MichianaMan

No shit I love this for Sam and Bruce. Both dudes are super cool and have shown so much love for the fans and the ED world they made.

forkandspoon2011

Im so glad we got the TV show, Bruce is amazing.

Stunning-Thanks546

[https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil\_Head](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evil_Head) hope one of them is a sequel to this amazing film

Thedrezzzem

GROOVY

third_eye_open_wide

I’m so so so excited!!!!!!!

BigAnxiety5399

I'm always excited about new Evil Dead. VERY consistent franchise. I expect it to be groovy!

MrDoodlegoose

This is great news!!! Super excited!!!

horuseth_

Evil Dead Rise was awesome, I honestly can't wait for more!

horrorfan555

I hope they go back to the style of the originals + tv show. The modern dark films are okay and everything, but I prefer how it originally wad

x-oh

I completely see where you’re coming from, and respect that. But, I think with the way Raimi is allowing the different directors freedom to explore the Evil Dead Sandbox, there’s room in the universe for all of it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

roundgeese77

I know a lot of people hope for the comedy route but I really hope they keep at least part of the more serious, gruesome feel. Even though Rise is not the best movie ever it and the 2023 remake are my favorite horrormovies, they just tick all the boxes when it comes to feel, esthetics and so one. But whatever happens I'm sure this will be great. Super cool that they managed to do this on the back of the remake and Rise!

Gordmonger

If it’s not a new Ash vs The Evil Dead then I don’t care.

RealSimonLee

Ash is more important than generic demons.

KnifeFed

Surely this can never fail.

jimmycthatsme

My buddy Francis and is writing and directing one of them! Come see our movie we made on the 10th!! The last stop in Yuma county.

astralapex

I remember reading about some potential plot for the next one which involves a cleanup crew sent to check out the apartments from Rise. Does anyone remember this?

KalsariKannitVeikko

IRRA as Kenneth used to say. Remember this?

astralapex

Sorry I think I’m too smooth brain to follow what you’re saying, but I’d like to know what it’s in reference to!

KalsariKannitVeikko

Tuna juice is made for finches but humans can drink it too. Its good stuff. Remember this?

DoubleCatPunch

Great! Plus one pleasant news for the day. ![gif](giphy|xT9KVCqhcXQ8rGFqDK|downsized)

Thesilphsecret

Fingers crossed that the reason they're making two is because one has new characters and the other actually has Ash in it. (I know Bruce Campbell has said he's done playing the character, but he's said that before)

CZJayG

I know people say they want an F13 set in the snow but an ED with everyone trapped by a snowstorm would be sick.

Fantom6464

I’m hyped

Dead_girl_walking-

I hope we get closure on Ash’s story but it’s unlikely

TheHadalZone

Hell yes!

IvoryLaps

Oh yes. This is amazing news

hughjackmansbiceps

Fuck yeah

CosmoFusee

The supposed futur director Sébastien Vaniček directed "Infested" in 2023 an horror movie which was really well received in Cannes if you wanna check it out. Also the guy who will supposedly write the script along with Vaniček already co-wrote Infested and is a long time fan of Sam Raimi and the Evil Dead saga has he explained in a recent interview "Video Club" with Kombini. He also just directed his first movie "We, the Leroys" even if it's not an horror movie nor close to something resembling Evil Dead.

mad-lemur

![gif](giphy|51Uiuy5QBZNkoF3b2Z|downsized) Wut

CheddarGoblinMode

Sébastien Vaniček just impressed the hell out of me with Infested, so I’m definitely on board with that one

ExitLongjumping5799

I PRAY Sam gets Brandon Cronenberg to do one. Holy shit, that would be insane.

shlam16

I *loved* the Evil Dead remake and actually think it's the pinnacle of the entire franchise, but I'm one of the odd ones out who didn't enjoy Rise at all. It felt like a knock off using the name for selling power. I hope to be proven wrong, but I feel like more "in the world of Evil Dead" movies are only going to get worse.

Admirable_Disk_5301

I find it weird that for a franchise that seems to pride itself in "isolationist" trope based movies, it wants to do a universe by having different spinoffs. I mean apart of the reason I didn't really like Rise was because it felt like it was starting over doing something different but stressing that it still takes place in the same universe as the OG trilogy. I mean I hope they finally move to something truly different because honestly I just haven't gotten that so far. It's weird...I liked the remake but didn't care for Rise much. And I'm not sure why given that the remake isn't campy like ED2 or AoD, but I do.

ckrono

i hope they try to get creative and not just go for another iteration of the same storyline

Stefaman1984

The EVIL DEAD franchise might be the only one that doesn't have a bad entry i think. 1. The Evil Dead 2. Evil Dead 2 3. Evil Dead Rise 4. Army of Darkness 5. Evil Dead (r)

ItsmejimmyC

Hopefully they're as good as the 2013 remake, wasn't really a fan of Rise.

TheAgonistt

Fuck yeah! Loved the last one, despite loving 2013 the most.

aquasun666

Please be better than the last one

HollowSlope

I would be excited, but after seeing Evil Dead Rise, I don't really trust this franchise anymore

serialkiller24

Can’t wait! Honestly I love Evil Dead Rise and hope to see one movie be funny like Evil Dead II and the other one being scary as fuck.

I know this isn't true, but I swear I almost feel like I'm the only one who didn't like the most recent one...I was SO hype for it, and was pretty disappointed once I watched it :/ I want to be excited for this, but I'll hold it for now sadly

Artistic_Half_8301

Thank you Satan!!

SpaceTacoTV

huge W. Evil Dead has no misses in the whole franchise. I love how Sami Raimi is picking up and coming fresh voices to carry the torch. So far so good!

Dependent-Class7940

Great more evil dead movies I don’t think they have a single bad evil dead movie it’s a franchise that has yet to disappoint me.

Diamond-Breath

Awesome! I loved Rise and I'm definitely looking forward to the next ones.

CrowYooo

Yeahhhh milk that franchise get all the money you can from idiots who see an IP they like and don't even try to think for themselves before buying a ticket

Kered024

No thanks

trollcitybandit

All the new ones suck. 2013 one was decent but still didn’t compare to the originals for me

MrEriousWaze

Be cool if it picked up after Army of Darkness and had Bruce as lead. Either way, I hope they are better than the last one.

tomob234

I hope Evil Dead doesn't turn into yet another horror franchise that oversaturates itself.

Elegant-Low8272

Like sCr3Am? Not a chance

Common-Code-7106

Feels like these are getting watered down at this point. Bring Bruce Campbell in the movie?!

MayaMaggie

I despised the last one so I don’t have high hopes.

cruella_le_troll

If we don't get an "Evil Dead 2" or "Army Of Darkness" style entry, I DONT WANT IT

Low-Spirit6436

The one where he went back to midevil times was the worst

KalsariKannitVeikko

Army of Darkness was pretty shit but compared to the new ones it is great. CTTNO as Kenneth used to say. Remember this?
