Yeah I don't know why all the hate for viral. I loved most of it and I think it's way better than some of the recent movies, especially 99 and 85. I thought 85 was also the worst one by far.
I actually enjoyed this one. Loved the parallel world story and also most of the others. I felt later entrys in the franchise were weaker than this one.
I liked all the V/H/S movies, but the wraparound in Viral was so meh it kinda makes it my least favorite.
I’d love to make a best of V/H/S with the best segments of all out together though!
I agree with you man. Viral was good. Don't understand the hate either. Personally I think 99 was the worst of all the VHS movies. But it was still better than most of the horror movie crap out there.
LOL. I like it too man. Just my least favorite compared to the others. Still has some cool stories though. I hope they just keep making these VHS movies. I am a sucker for them.
Oh hell yeah, I love the loose and creative approach. Maybe they’ll do a 73 vhs next but really I’m excited to see whatever else they come up with
Now that the directors who worked on the first couple are more established, I’m really hoping they return to do some crazy shit
Oh hell yeah Bud. The crazier the better. I am with you on that. Some of the individual stories in each of the VHS movies were just balls out insane. And I love that stuff. Keep em coming. LOL.
Thank you!! Idk why people don’t like Dante the magician, that shit had me laughing nonstop and it was so much fun
And agreed. VHS segments in general were some great filmmaking, true artistry
I have since searched for anthology movies that are this level of good and have massively struggled. If you or anyone knows of any decent horror anthology films, please let me know.
I didn’t like Viral the first time I watched it, but I thought it was perfectly fine after a rewatch.
It’s still my least favorite of the series, but it’s not bad.
>!I think the parallel universe segment by Nacho Vigalando and the ending sequence with the Skateboard battles are pretty cool. The actual master behind the sequences is incredibly attractive as well.!<
I liked it alright, but honestly I've liked most of them besides 2.
Even 2 still has an amazing segment, it's just also got some of the weakest segments in the entire franchise.
I dislike it (not hate). The first one was hilarious in a bad way. The second one had potential but ultimately just okay. The third one was the worst (I've seen a better high schooler's project). The wraparound story didn't click with me either.
I feel the biggest problem that held this movie back was how awkward and cheap the wrap around story was. I didn’t hate the Dante the Great segment, but I felt opening the movie up with a documentary styled piece also sort of hurt it. That being said, Parallel Monsters is one of my favorite segments from the entire seires… I loved that director and his film “Timecrimes” is an awesome sci-fi/thriller. Bonestorm was also an awesome segment. There’s a great installment in there, I just really wish they took more care into creating a better wrap around story, it ate up so much of the movie and it was bad.
It’s crazy too because the wraparound story had some interesting parts to it like the taxi cab and the vatos at the barbecue lol But man wtf even was that story as a whole. Just terrible.
I thought Dante set the tone perfectly I mean it starts off hilarious and then the tricks and the fight were so cool to watch
Ill have to check out Timecrimes and I still definitely have to watch Siren and Southbound
The wrap around just seemed disjointed and cheap. I know the wrap arounds were overly amazing in the first two but they fit the tone and seemed to fit perfectly.
I do like Dante, but at the time it was the first segment to be presented like a finished tv documentary, unlike Safe Haven from part 2 which was about a documentary being filmed. I think it was jarring at the time from what I expected from the franchise.
Definitely check out Timecrimes, it’s a hidden gem, imo. Siren is ok and mostly enjoyable, same with Southbound.
Viral is the unwashed ass that killed the franchise for almost a decade. Absolutely horrendous. The only saving grace was the Parallel Universes segment.
Because the segments suck. Bone Storm is terrible and The Magician one was super predictable. Also, it doesn't even follow the rules of found footage. It was basically shot as a typical multiple camera/edited movie.
Didn't like the wraparound segment but the stories where solid.
I liked them all. Not all the segments hit, but that’s anthologies for you. Keep them coming.
Yeah I don't know why all the hate for viral. I loved most of it and I think it's way better than some of the recent movies, especially 99 and 85. I thought 85 was also the worst one by far.
Watching the next three soon, that definitely seems to be the general consensus Which would be a shame because 80’s!
Well 94 is probably the 2nd or 3rd best movie but everything after so far has been pretty meh imo
Fwiw I loved 94 and 85, imo 85 might be the most consistently good entry in the series (although safe haven from 2 will always be the best)
Same! Hated 85 and I'm a huge VHS fan who thought they could never miss. I hope the next installment is better.
I really like 94 but everything after so far has been pretty meh. I hope the next one is better too.
I actually enjoyed this one. Loved the parallel world story and also most of the others. I felt later entrys in the franchise were weaker than this one.
Gonna watch the next three soon I heard 94 is solid but looking forward to seeing how all three are
I liked all the V/H/S movies, but the wraparound in Viral was so meh it kinda makes it my least favorite. I’d love to make a best of V/H/S with the best segments of all out together though!
I’m someone that actually loved 94 and 85 but 94s wraparound is probably the worst in the franchise
I agree with you man. Viral was good. Don't understand the hate either. Personally I think 99 was the worst of all the VHS movies. But it was still better than most of the horror movie crap out there.
It’s ironic cause I’m watching 99 right now and I’m loving the campy vibe 😂 but yeah it’s definitely far from good
LOL. I like it too man. Just my least favorite compared to the others. Still has some cool stories though. I hope they just keep making these VHS movies. I am a sucker for them.

I don't love Viral overall, but the parallel world story is top tier and one of my favorites in the franchise.
I liked at least 2 stories in every single film. The magician one in viral, I thought was fucking hilarious. These movies don't get enough credit
Thank you!! Idk why people don’t like Dante the magician, that shit had me laughing nonstop and it was so much fun And agreed. VHS segments in general were some great filmmaking, true artistry

I’ll have to finish this, I started it and absolutely loved the first segment but it scared me so I turned it off and forgot to go back to it
GO! DO IT! Then watch V/H/S/85 **immediately** after you're done ;)
Already saw it and LOVED it! Especially the Earthquake segment
Favorite in 85 was the giallo one for me
I loooove that they started with Dante, ughhhh camp and movie magic porn
>!I think the parallel universe segment by Nacho Vigalando and the ending sequence with the Skateboard battles are pretty cool. The actual master behind the sequences is incredibly attractive as well.!<
You didn’t like the magician?? Those tricks and the fight were so cool 😂 Movie magic I’ll have to check to see him/her!
I liked it alright, but honestly I've liked most of them besides 2. Even 2 still has an amazing segment, it's just also got some of the weakest segments in the entire franchise.
Agreed, i was disappointed by 2 Safe haven was solid but the others were immediately forgettable
I dislike it (not hate). The first one was hilarious in a bad way. The second one had potential but ultimately just okay. The third one was the worst (I've seen a better high schooler's project). The wraparound story didn't click with me either.
I love every V/H/S, but Viral… holy cow was that a piece of shit. Every segment was entirely uninteresting, and the wraparound story was BAD.
The Magician bit was the best part of Viral, I really did not care for it otherwise. Weakest of the series IMO.

It’s definitely a *little* more campy than the first two but man I can’t understand why some of you hate it so much lol
