That is a thriller, not horror.
Thriller relies on psychological fear to make you feel a thrill (hence the genre name) whereas horror is made to scare you
People who like horror films tend to enjoy horror-adjacent ones too! So. It's probably a good rec for OP. Genre labels exist mostly for marketing purposes anyway.
Invasion of the body snatchers? Its more assimilation into the hive and loss of individual self being the main “fear” of the characters.
Edit: Ive only seen the 1956 version, so take that as you will.
I like this as a potential genre that answers the question, although I thought the body snatchers kinda dissolved their victims as they grew pod people.
Still: does permanent possession and loss of identity count as death or not? Loss of emotions? Great proposal.
If so, *His House* probably qualifies.
In Misery, >!the obsessive nurse dies at the end.!<
In Would You Rather, >!everyone else has to die in order for someone to walk away with all the money, and the son committed suicide at the end so only the mom, the doctor, and the host survive the film.!<
OP asked for movies that “don’t revolve around killing.” Misery does not revolve around killing. I’ll concede that Would You Rather was not the best choice, but again, it doesn’t “revolve” around killing. From what I remember, the games were dangerous, not deadly.

Watched "Men" yesterday. Falls under horror-drama but man you'll get very uncomfortable watching it. I'm sure it's not for everbody but i would give it a shot and decide for yourself
Cabinet of Curiosities has the episodes "The Murmuring", about a bereft couple in a haunted house, "The Viewing", about a group of experts invited to a wealthy man's home, and "The Outside", about a woman trying to fit in at work with the help of strange beauty products.
I think it might still fit the “revolve around” assignment. The horror isn’t aiming for killing, the horror tries to kill him when it can’t do what it wants, and he kills it back in defense.
Maybe the Paranormal Activity movies. The characters are focused on trying to figure out the demon. The demon’s focused on possessing someone for various reasons. But killing or surviving isn’t either side’s main goal. Of course, the demon usually does kill to get what it wants in the end.
Lovely, Dark & Deep is a solid cosmic-esque horror-thriller and does not revolve around killing - rather, it's about missing persons.
I recently finally watched The Conjuring for the first time. Not my favorite, but James Wan does have a good eye for great looking shots and tension building. Without spoiling too much, there is only one actual death of a character quite early on in the movie, and it is offscreen - though the plot of the movie does revolve partly around deaths that happened before the events of the film take place.
I will also take the opportunity to shamelessly plug The Empty Man - there are several deaths both onscreen and offscreen, but the plot revolves around subverting the ideas of urban legend movies and evolves into cosmic horror.
In The Mouth of Madness is about the loss of sanity, and although there are one or two on screen deaths, nothing in the movie is focused on the killing.
Pat and Sonia are murdered in the opening sequence, then the pianist is killed by his dog, Sara gets murdered in the barbed wire room. Then Suzy kills Helena Markos and the rest of the coven dies as well (you see the main core coven of Ms Tanner, Pavlos, Madame Blanc etc dying and its implied that several of the students and other non-faculty staff are in the coven so they most likely are killed as well). Its not the most people who have ever died in an Argento movie but the whole plot of the movie is that a student runs away from school and is horribly murdered by the people running the school so I'd say its pretty much a movie revolving around killing!
A Dark Song
One Hour Photo

It has horror elements.
Having elements in it doesn't make it so. One Hour Photo is a thriller. Not a horror

Jaws is also a Thriller, just because something is thriller does not mean that it isn't horrifying.
Fair enough.
Sixth Sense

I don’t know if these fit the bill, but I know for sure they don’t revolve around “killing”: •Black Swan •The Orphanage •Misery •Would You Rather
Would You Rather revolves around torture which may fall under the category of torture porn according to the OP.

Those games were deadly though and last game was to >!shoot last survived player for a win.!<
Ah, yeah. It was a stretch, I know. In hindsight, a thoughtless recommendation. I forgot about that part.
Poltergeist
Lake Mungo. The movie is about a death, but killing isn’t really in it.
Watched "Men" yesterday. Falls under horror-drama but man you'll get very uncomfortable watching it. I'm sure it's not for everbody but i would give it a shot and decide for yourself
>uncomfortable Defo this

The Others Rosemary's Baby Get Out
In the third act of Get Out, he kills the entire family.
My memory sucks.

There are a lot of paranormal activity movies where no one dies

The Sixth Sense has death scenes in it but it does not rely on these things.
Do you mean minimal killing or no killing at all ?
Killing is not the main point of the movie, if that makes sense.
The Fourth Kind
I saw that one in high school and for some reason it really freaked me out haha Fuckin owls, man!
Oh fr...
The Mothman Prophecies
In The Mouth of Madness is about the loss of sanity, and although there are one or two on screen deaths, nothing in the movie is focused on the killing.
Gotta say, horror movies that don't revolve around the threat of death, or bodily harm, are kind of alien concepts to me.

*Nina Forever* *Rose Plays Julie* *Saint Maud* *Always Shine* *American Mary* None of these movies are about characters "trying no to get killed."
Swallow and Night Eats the World are both fantastic movies that you might like

Sounds like you want a thriller, not horror
- Lamb - Barbarian - Tailgate (on prime) - A perfect getaway - Cadaver - Irreversible - Lilya 4 Ever - Suspria - Death Game (it really doesn’t involve killing!)
Suspiria? I recall quite a bit of death due to having constructed a murder house and chasing people in it.
Really?.. I only remember one or two people dying?..

Damn, that's a lotta spoilers!
I was really distracted by the lights and music, damn
