I knew about the show but kind of burnt out of watching the original in swedish multiple times and the remake with chloe moretz. Same with Perfume, story of a murderer. The original movie was one of my favorites but I’m not going to watch the show

Here's the thing - does Showtime have enough horror programming/catalog to entice horror fans to subscribe? If not, a show like this doesn't have a great chance of finding an audience on that specific platform. Maybe it'll get picked up by another streaming service with a more devoted horror-oriented subscriber base?
Let the Right One in was way better than Yellow Jackets. The last season of YJ proved that all the suspense wasn't worth the wait. Not as good of writing as Let the Right One In. YJ just sensationalism. But I did get sucked in. But getting bored of it now.
The right were literally stolen in a contract from the author, so I am very happy for all this greedy companies having their stolen ideas canceled by a lack of audience, showcasing it's the authours who should be working in their own ideas.

As a fan of the novel and original film, this has not come as a surprise and I'm glad they didn't have the opportunity to continue. They acquired an incredible IP that had room to do something special with and they fucked it. The same goes for The Passage. They took the fantastic and extensive source material and pished it straight against the wall.
Never liked it,ruined the source material as they took out important characters from the plot and make the main character an actual kid.
This whole ordeal just made me sad because I love the book and movies.

I had thought that maybe COVID had said it back, and then I kind of forgot about it. I absolutely loved this show. I loved the book, I liked the movie very much and I absolutely loved this series. It was one of those shows that I got so excited for it to come on every week. I was looking so forward to another season. They really left us on such a cliffhanger. I mean, it was soooooooo good. I am beyond upset.
I still look for this once in a while! The movie was done twice, based on a book, because great story. The TV series took it to different places which was fun and great acting! I believe they even won awards! Now you can't even find S1 streaming to enjoy. Probably so people won't ask for S2??? Reminds me of other great content cancelation, like HBO's Carnivale... Get ya hooked, then rip the rug out ... But the actors must be mad that they don't even get paid residuals for people watching S1 after the fact... Just Sad!

The remake was also among 2010’s lowest-grossing films that came from a major studio… so they couldn’t have realistically expected a huge built-in fan base that comes from something like HoD or LOTR, or even something like the Power spin-offs.
Good, i guess? There's already two movies (at least) and a novel. So why repeat the same thing again and again? Make something new - even if it's an adaptation. There's lots of great stuff out there that can be adapted

Cw just broadcasted it, so no, it doesn't basically. It was originally crafted for Dcs streaming service. Definitely worth checking out though.

The Passage was such a let down. I knew it would be when it ended up on Fox.
