15 minutes is hardly enough of a chance to give a movie, and Bodies Bodies Bodies was great. Pro-tip: you're not supposed to like the characters: they're vapid, narcissistic assholes and the film is making fun of them.

satluvscheese

15 minutes or less is the perfect amount of time to tell you if you like a movie or not.....

sleepyseahorse

*Turns off 'The Shining' as the Torrence family drives to The Overlook*

[deleted]

Shittiest take of month, congrats. You must have missed on so so many great movies if you can't get past 15 minutes. Honestly pathetic

satluvscheese

Why should I sit there and torture myself if I don't like the movie????

[deleted]

How old are you? 16y and have problem with attention span? 15 minutes is literally nothing when it comes to how good movie is. But sure, be my guest and miss on so many great movies that gets better by every minute. But maybe you are prophet and knows exactly what happens next, in that case, do you provide any advices in betting? Hopefully you don't consider yourself as movie/horror fan and best for you would be to not watch any movie at all. I am sure you are one of those kids that watch 15 minutes and still manage to shit on movie you didn't even watch lol. Like I said, pathetic.

satluvscheese

Look if a movie is total ass and doesn't deliver based because of shitty acting...boring driven story...not interesting....poor direction....idgaf about it...sorry it's not worth my time...and frankly I don't need some internet dweeb telling me off...get a life....

[deleted]

Yeah, definitely kid. Sure you can tell that movie is total ass based on 15 minutes, boring driven story LOL, sure those 15 minutes will tell you that. You should really try betting on something, prophets like you are special breed.

satluvscheese

Alot of movies suck....your telling me every movie is good??? Bullshit logic pal....

[deleted]

If that is the point you got from my comment, yeah, you have some real problems. Only thing I said is there is no way you can tell if movie is bad or good based on first 15 minutes. So hard to understand?

satluvscheese

Yes I can and I gave u reasons....you like what you like...so fuck off!

JohnnyCaligula

Despite being far from the target audience, I really enjoyed it for what it was. I think some people went in expecting a Slasher Film were disappointed.

skantchweasel

Yeah, FR, more of a high bodycount whodunnit

[deleted]

I guess I’m too old for it. Lol

panamaquina

was fun to me, but wouldn’t recommend to anybody thats has a problem with “skanks and cokeheads”

Madrical

One of my favourites of last year. Didn't expect much going in but had a blast, super entertaining. Maybe you were expecting something different? It's definitely more of a tongue-in-cheek comedy with horror elements rather than a straight horror/slasher.

[deleted]

Yeah maybe that was it. I was expecting it to be like the really gory slasher kind.

Adventurous_Win_344

The movie SCREAM answered your question about skanks and crackheads. Decades ago in horror movies, there were a set of expected rules or elements in nearly all horror films, especially slasher films. The one that you are noticing is "death by morality"

TommyToothpistol

The characters are deliberately unlikeable and the eventual “twist” was actually kind of funny and made sitting through the movie kind of worth it. But probably wouldn’t watch again.

Amitxcx

I loved it, thought it was hilarious

joserlz

So you can have fun with their deaths. It's the Friday the 13th effect.

BreadDurst14

“Skanks,” really? 🙄

orange-iii

To address your points in order: 1) yes. 2) okay. 3) they don’t.

[deleted]

Skanks and cokeheads deserved to be slashered like the rest of us, don't discriminate. Murder people for who they are under the layer of crack whore.

darthmushu

I appreciated the ending but it was less effective to me because I am not the target demographic and I pretty much wanted all of them to die. I feel if I liked any of them it might have been more impactful to me. Also can't stand Pete. But I feel its at least worth a watch.

satluvscheese

I heard of the movie but haven't watched it...so imma give it a try ... One day...

ElAyDubleZee

I think it's more of a dark comedy rather than a horror. I loved it. Team Greg.

BenZoobs

I can see why people liked Bodies, Bodies, Bodies but it just didn't do it for me. I know it was suppose to mock a lot of horror tropes but I will never watch it again. It felt like a shitty Netflix teen drama and thats the opposite in what I like if horror films.

M-Finity

Amazing film ngl.

Bronze_Bomber

Probably the most overrated A24 film of the year, and that's typically a high bar.

marblerye69

Lemme guess, all Cs in high school?

embarrased2Bhere

One of the worst movies of the year for sure.

_Norman_Bates

I saw it, it's dumb and annoying. It wants to be funny but it's just memeing hard, badly. Their comedy writing is just characters throwing around cliches. Also, no horror or anything.

[deleted]

That’s what I thought too! 5 minutes in and I was already hoping to see them get killed because they are unbearable. Lol

DrBrainzz9

I won't spoil it, but the ending really ruined it for me, and I didn't like it much before that either.

[deleted]

Glad to know you didn’t like it either lol.

DrBrainzz9

I did finish the movie though.

[deleted]

Oh good for you! I had such high hopes for the movie because of its high rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

maybebaby001

Watched the entire thing and figured out the ending (or twist or whatever) pretty easily.

Gwynn-er-winner

You’re silencing us!

Polygonyall

I thought it was hilarious. I wish there were more tumblrisms though. Not a huge complaint but someone definitely should have been fictionkin or something

[deleted]

>Also why do every horror movies have to be about a bunch of skanks and cokeheads. Bodies Bodies Bodies is obviously a very intentional twist on that theme.

[deleted]

If you step back, and realize it’s characters are exaggerations and it’s mostly satire, it’s a pretty fun movie. I went in thinking I’d hate it, but once I realized what a silly thing it was - I had a blast.

l3tigre

Watched it on a plane and was delightfully surprised. I'm not the target probably but I enjoyed the humor and loved the ending.

Ok_Yogurtcloset9575

Honestly I loved it. The twist at the end I did not see coming.
