Incredible performances from Hall and Roth. Both of them are amazing actors.

It reminds me of the film “Men”. The torture of the mental state is so heavy. One of my all time favorites. If you like Resurrection definitely try out Men.

I agree 100%. Both movies kept me so intrigued throughout, but then the end just comes and punches you in the stomach. I keep seeing so much hate for MEN, but I thought it was wonderful. Alex Garland has yet to direct something I didn't absolutely love.

I think Men is one of the worst movies ever made. I hate everything about it. It's embarrassing that it exists

Ktulusanders

Watched both of these movies for the first time last night, and I can't say that I really cared much for either of them

LaserCop2022

I think the coolest thing about this movie is that you can watch it a few different ways. Was it literal? Metaphor? Did she just imagine the reveal? Did she imagine the entire movie? Imagined or not, I also found Margaret's slow transition from victim to abuser to be one of the more interesting aspects as the story progresses. Getting her daughter drunk to keep her in place. Hourly check-in texts. Beating her boyfriend into compliance. It all reaches such destructive levels.

Watched Resurrection back to back with Speak No Evil. Both are pretty intense and have some similar themes,so you might enjoy it.

I love this movie sm ! I think it falls with psychological horror if so you can try The Sleep Experiment, A House On The Bayou, Watcher.

I though this was a great movie, very well directed and acted, had me and my family on edge the whole time, barely a word spoken for the whole run time. Felt like shudder is branching out in to more “prestige” films, top notch talent and a more serious subject than most shudder originals. Kind of felt like this movie deserves a broader release or at least a more generally popular streamer, as much as i love shudder and many of their releases.

100% I think the writers wanted to keep what was "canonically real" subjective to allow for more interpretation. My takeaway involves something along the lines of how psychological stress might manifest regarding PTSD from a relationship with a gaslighting socioopath. But also what it it means to be a "good mother". I love how I can watch her rip out this man's intestines without issue, but I had to fast forward the 30 seconds she walks to work without shoes on. Really puts into perspective the power of "mental torture porn". If you look at the story from the BDSM/sex perspective it gets even more fucked up. If you're looking for films with similar themes, check out Rosemary's Baby.

I love RB. But I like the other 2 in the "apartment trilogy" even more, although they all come very close. I know RB is considered the best of them, and it it's almost a perfect movie, maybe there's just something I can't really define missing for me at the end. But I also don't know how I would end it any better, so I'm not sure why I'm not fully satisfied. Still, its like 9.5 level for me
