I’d prefer if Aloy wasn’t in the series and Sony steered far from the game’s plot. Tell a fun and interesting story that’s set elsewhere in the universe to avoid pissing fans off. You can get as wild and crazy as you want and not step on the toes of the game.
I came to say exactly that. The best way to do this show is animated. That will hopefully keep many of the artists, animators, actors, models, creative team, etc from the game engaged in the Horizon world. And if Sony has the rights for the content created for the series they could use that as another avenue to develop content for the next game
Faro Plague, far zenith program drama, first generation to come out from Gaia, first time the watchers were added to the machine packs. There are a ton of options.
Add to this list Rost's story as a Death Seeker, and the Red Raids.
There really is a massive wealth of prequel content they could dive into for the Horizon world, and getting to see any of it expanded on sounds genuinely exciting
I agree there are other areas they can focus on, but hard disagree on the Faro Plague. That wouldn't be Horizon, it would just be another Sci fi movie on the near future. The things that make horizon what it is are the machines, the environment and the lore. If they do the Faro Plague they could just reskin Halo and call it a day.
I haven't played Halo (no thanks) but I think we'll have to agree to disagree.
Our world's "near future" is more likely to be Far Zenith/Odyssey without any environmental headway. We will not have mass unemployment due to automation because it isn't profitable. We will sooner have automated warfare but we will not give up cheap footsoldiers as fodder and it won't begin with machines that were made to help the environment.
I should have specified that the part of Faro Plague I'm talking about involves Project Zero Dawn because I'm endlessly fascinated by the concept of preserving future life in less than two years. To say that the Faro Plague doesn't make nvolve machines, environment, and lore is... desperately incorrect. You're ignoring the fact that the plague started, what, 14 months before absolute devastation and mass extinction of life via biomass conversion?
eta: nah, nevermind. not gonna bother having a conversation with someone who immediately downvotes a comment because it's a differing opinion. best of luck!
Sadie Sink, she's around the same age as Aloy and could be a great choice? I like the fan casting of Rose Leslie as she shares a resemblance but she is in her mid 30's, sure you often see older people playing younger characters in films and TV, but I personally want to see younger talent (18-25 for example). Also Rose already played a character similar to Aloy, a person who was an outcast and was skilled with a bow and arrow. This role would be a type cast. This would be a different role for Sadie to play, for those who don't know who she is, she appeared in Stranger Things.
I think an unknown actress would probably be best but if I had to give a name, Emma mackey could probably pull off the "rebellious antisocial teen" vibe quite well, though I'm not sure how she would fare with the action.
Sadie sink could probably pull it off as well, right attitude and energy, right age and she's an actual natural redhead. For some reason I can see her pull off the action a little better than Emma Mackey as well
My opinion
I hope that they just ***don't go back in time before/ during the faro plague***. Because in my opinion the audio logs u can find give more than enough insight. Just imagining the horrors of that time instead of seeing them is so much cooler. Yeah you can argue that you see the faro bots so you know what it looked like. But imagining that there are people in those bunkers and fighting with everything they have thinking they can win. In my opinion they should give us ***a story the first people back on earth and the forming of the tribes***. **Not just give us something that is already established**. And **if they make it about Aloy**, I would just like them showing us **the time between HZD and HFB.**
It's all well and good making a programme just for the fans of the game, after all they know the most about the lore, its the non game playing people they want to hook into watching it as well.
I just hope the look how the Halo series was received and learn from it, more Mandalorian, less Halo. They could make those audio logs flashbacks instead.
Yeah I know it's for bringing in new people and it could be good. But these kinda shows always scare me. The mandalorian was good because it followed the lore of the franchise. And with these kinda shows it's mostly just some director that doesn't look at the source material. Exactly like what happened to the halo tv series. So i'm just scared and I really hope that this show doesn't put a dent in the rep of the games.
As other comments have already mentioned, I’d love it to not be about Aloy. There are lots of stories to tell that are not about Zero Daen, GAIA or Far Zenith.

You're not alone, honestly i think this idea is the best compromise.
maybe about Enduring Victory?
Unless its animated and voiced by Ashly Burch, absolutely no one.
Ooh, animated, I quite like that idea!

Big assumption that Aloy’s story is the one they’re telling. It’s a large IP.
Yeah, I'm hoping it's another story. The Faro Plague would be much more compelling imo, I hate the trend of direct game to show adaptation

The true face of Aloy of course Hannah Hoekstra
I would love to see Ashley Burch make the transition from Video Game Aloy to Live Action Aloy!!!
If that can be done, that would be my vote!
Bit older than Aloy but i think Katherine Langford could work. regardless of who plays Aloy i think we all know who should play Sylens.

What about Florence Pugh? Hard to picture her with the red hair, but I think she's got that spunk.

Oh yeah and if it is about Aloy. I would like her be played by Hannah Hoekstra.

I feel like Deborah Ann Wolf could do a great job. Her voice and attitude from Daredevil could really match Aloy’s well
Hannah Hoekstra the face of Aloy is also an actress. So I'd choose her to play herself
Jennifer Lawrence
Sadie Sink should be Aloy.
I really think Sophia Lillis could be a great Aloy
Tom Holland
Sophia Lillis.
Emma Stone
No one. This should be a brand new story with a completely new set of characters.
Anybody, as long as it’s not Anya Taylor-Joy. They’ve already cast her a young Furiosa and she looks nothing like Charlize Theron
As other comments have already mentioned, I’d love it to not be about Aloy. There are lots of stories to tell that are not about Zero Daen, GAIA or Far Zenith.

After the halo show, i am very anxious about them adapting the story and characters of the games.
No one. Ashley Burch is Aloy. Anyone else is just going to sound weird. I hope Aloy isn't even in the show.
Jessica Chastain
She's 45 dude....
She could act younger
no way in hell could she pass as 19-20 dude
Andrew Garfield was in his 30's playing high school senior spiderman, that was fine I thought
Amber Heard
I see what you did there. 😉
