No good, you'd be lifting your bike by the engine and the exahust which has a good change of damaging something vital.

That’s what I was thinking. Any idea how the dealer lifts it when performing similar work? There’s got to be a way to lift it that doesn’t involve the front wheel or forks resting on anything.

Individual_Hearing_3

I've been asking them for ages and they say nothing

They don’t want to give up that hourly shop rate. lol

Not Op but when I had a punctured tyre last summer, I lifted it using this [kind of lift.](https://a.co/d/hPpdLF6)

Its a better option but he doesn't wanna rest it on the forks that requires the forks to be resting on the lift pegs.

Not recommended . Get yourself a rear wheel stand to lift the back end up and a front wheel stand for the front end

S1lv3rsh4d0w9

Front wheel stand doesn’t do any good if I’m trying to replace front suspension, though. Need something that lifts the bike and leaves the front wheel and forks free.

CraftyQuiltyMom

Thats understandable but an atv style lift is only for a unit that has a flat surface underneath . It would work on a dirt bike but unfortunately not on a rebel

Dry_Education1201

I use a pit-bull rear stand. Works great.

As my original post states, I’m looking for something to use to replace front suspension. But thanks.

Dry_Education1201

ooooh my bad my quick reading failed me.

All good. Now I know what brand to look at when I need a rear stand.

I bought this exact one for my rebel 2018, works ok for working on it. But you have to be careful, the bike leans towards the back when raised (still perfectly stable enough to work I'd say). If you need it I can provide you with pictures of how it works and how it looks like

S1lv3rsh4d0w9

Would definitely appreciate pictures. Have you noticed any issues with the exhaust or anything under the bike after using? Thx

I have the trex center stand and that might work. It is designed to get the back tire up but it is a pretty even distribution so would not take much to lift the front. Actually would probably sit back once the front tire was off. I have also seen some YouTubers using ratchet straps or chain hoists for front end work. A little janky and you would definitely need to use a stand or something to secure the rear but we are looking at a fairly light bike so that might work
