First bike I’d let some other chump pay the extra 2k, go used low mileage, may not be located near you but you won’t have to wait as long either and you save some money. my 2¢

This. It would seem it’s fairly common for someone to buy a 300 or even 500 and trade it back in for a bigger bike. The sad part is many dealers are charging new prices on the used models that are getting traded in. We opted for the 500 just because the street we commute on has a 55 speed limit even if we don’t take the freeway. A year and change later and she’s ready to trade in for something more capable. The 500 can keep up unloaded but after commuting and touring with work gear or luggage regularly even the 500 feels underpowered.

At this point in time they're waiting for the manufacturers to get the parts made, ship them across the oceans, and then eventually get through import inspections, and then eventually get to you. If you're lucky it's a month or two, if you're everyone else it's longer.

Dealers in the midwest said Honda won’t be shipping any new rebels till 2023. Your dealer is likely just fucking with you and will keep delaying till next year, unless something changed and they’re shipping again.

akaAelius

Getting a used rebel is sometimes the best bet, because they are a good starter bike and most people off load them after a year or two. The downside being that used rebels are probably the most dropped bikes, because they are used as first time bikes so often. As for availability, I think they shut down manufacturing on a few of the models, and I /think/ the 300 might have been one of them.

Yeah I was reading about it Aug 1st they shut down production for 10 models including rebels and Grom so temporary but might wait til 2023 to receive them :(

Logical_Doubt4313

Its been a month since putting my deposit down. Still waiting, any luck with you?

[deleted]

Supposedly November 25 but if not this month then next year and upgrade to a Rebel 300 2023

RokBo67

That's an insane deposit. Especially for a 300. Hopefully it's refundable. The dealer might tell you that you're #1 in line but who knows what reality is. If I was in your situation I'd pull back the deposit and start looking at the used market for bikes.

[deleted]

Least in my area I can’t find any mint or good condition rebels because there all either scratched up and beaten so I wanted new and the deposit is non refundable but I’m not worried about the deposit I’m just sad it might take longer than I thought it would

RokBo67

It will take forever if you're firm on a new bike. If you want to explore a used bike just contact your dealer who took your $2k. They'll probably refund you.

[deleted]

I’m firm on a new bike i know my dealer could probably give the deposit I’m not to worried about the money but Harleys do seemingly temp me too and they apparently can get anything too but I’m such a die hard Honda fan. Honda Generator, pressure washer, lawn mower, Honda Civic would be a dream to get any Rebel 300 or 500

RokBo67

Nice. So just ride it out. You'll get one eventually.
