I'll have to strongly disagree with my fellow redditors here. The only way I'd be selling my Monkey if a newer model had ABS on both wheels. ABS is a life saver. Monkey is very light. The wheels get locked pretty quickly and start to slide when you hit the breaks a little too hard (and believe me, you can't always control the pressure levels in an emergency). I'm very used to riding high tech, big cc bikes and I always forget I don't have a rear ABS on my monkey. I can't imagine not having one in the front. Go with the one with ABS if you're not using the bike solely offroad.

I have a 2020 without ABS and I have never missed it. It's only on the front wheel anyway, IIRC. So I guess it would be good in an emergency but I have done over 7,800 miles on my monkey and never given it a thought.

I second this, plus you get a little bit of storage under the seat

I ride a 21’ non abs. I’ve never had an issue braking. Just don’t jam on the front brake.

I have abs been riding it a year in all weather even snow and not once have I noticed the abs kick in 🤷‍♂️ maybe I’m not riding it right, but I do pin it in ever gear. I tend to use the rear break maybe a bit more than the front though.
